Disappointed. My family thought this would be a nice place to eat since its one of the more talked about placed in Cape May, and since its an upscale restaurant and bar that everyone seems to like. In mid-April we reserved a table of 7, and were seated in the front of the dining room. It was a quieter room, where you couldnt hear the bar (thankfully), but as soon as we were seated I noticed a problem. The table itself was very wobbly. It seemed that every time anyone walked by the table, the entire floor shook, and thus the table would shake. It became very annoying, very quickly. After a few minutes the waitress came and took all our drink orders. Mainly everyone ordered a wine except for myself and the person next to me. Within 10 minutes, we all had our drinks, except for me and person next to me. We thought it was strange wine was received before water, but whatever, they looked busy. 15 minutes pass, and still no basic water. We ask the next waitress we see if we could get water for the two of us, and she assured that she would get it now. She did come back within a few minutes, but did not give us water. It tasted like a club soda, or half club and half water. The person next to me confirmed hers wasnt water either. Funnily enough, my water was passed around the table and everyone had their opinion on the water. Our waitress didnt come by for a few minutes and I wasnt too thirsty so I let it slide. About 30 minutes later (45 minutes from walking in) we receive our food. Everyones food looked delicious as everyone was rest assured that their food was going to taste like a 5 star restaurant. Sadly, no. The mother directly across from me ordered a dish that the waitress assured would not be spicy, or was told they would not add the spice to the dish. She had to take it back and share the platter that her husband was having. I do believe they took it off the bill. My plate was lackluster. I ordered the Chicken Brushetta (psst - its Bruschetta) My chicken was wet, and had 0 flavor. Im talking you couldnt even taste the lemon. You really had to tear at the chicken to separate it, and was chewy. It was covering the rice, which was also bland. It was like they used generic rice with no flavoring added, just plopped it on and heated it. The combination of the wobbly table, club soda water, and bland chicken and rice, Im not going to recommend this place to anyone soon.

The worst dinner we have ever had anywhere. My husband ordered steak & lobster with the steak medium-rare. I ordered the new England clam bake. Our lobsters were severely over cooked and rubbery. We didnt bother to complain about that because my husbands medium-rare steak was not only medium-well, but also grey. We returned it to the waiter, who actually asked us if it was undercooked.... really? Well. Steak #2 comes out. The waiter plops it on our table in a bowl... seriously a bowl... and then he doesnt come back. He passed our table no less than 5 times. Well steak #2 was also well done and grey. The waiter didnt come back until a bus boy tried to take our plates and I asked for a manager. When he did he come back he was rude. The manager never apologized. Just was like "well if u dont think its right Ill take it off of your bill". Ummm... if we dont think its right? There us zero red on it and it is seriously grey! She could have apologized for the kitchen trying to pass off over cooked, turning meat! Instead she acted like it was purely an inaccurate opinion on meat temperature. Id never blame a waiter for poorly cooked food. But the fact that ours never even came to check if the 2nd try was acceptable was unacceptable. We have never had a worse dinner or worse service and we travel & eat out a lot!

Extremely overpriced, staff wasnt overly friendly and the food was just plain tasteless. Took the wife, 11 year old son and 5 year old son. I got the rack of lamb, it was horrible. Wife got the scallops and they looked like the came from Redlobster. Calamari was horrible, their marinara that you have to ask for the calamari was horrible. I got my son plain pasta with butter and Parmesan and he wouldnt even eat it. I got the oysters and they were actually good so Im giving a star for that. The waitress could tell we where very unhappy but still remained pleasant and 3/4 of the meals were not eaten and we still got stuck with a $175 bill. The funny thing is the place was packed. . Not impressed.....

The best restaurant in Cape May, hands down! Nice small, personal setting, owner is a master chef from the Culinary Institute, food is plated in a very appetizing way....and tastes absolutely delicious! Very friendly waitstaff and hostess. The Fried Tomato and Crabmeat appetizer is to die for, and I had the Scallops and Shrimp Nage which I cant find words to describe...except delicious! Do yourself a favor and go here instead of the moldy smelling Lobster House, which is just a tourist trap. Youll be glad you did!!!!

The food items are very outdated. Me and my wife went there for diner thinking the place would have great seafood. First I would like to say that the service was awesome but when got our meal it reminded me of the type of food that was cutting edge 20 years ago. We didnt finish the food and although we were going to just pay the check and leave they did do the right thing and take the main items off the bill. It wasnt our type of food but they were very nice about it.

By far the best place to eat in Cape May, steaks or seafood, the soups are awesome and the apps are amazing. We go two times every year when we visit Cape May and all I did was talk about the Clams Casino and oysters rock all week and could not wait to go back for more. Servers and bartenders are top notch and it is great and friendly service. Very highly recommend this place!

My wife and I sat at the bar for drinks and dinner during a summer thunderstorm.. The bar staff was friendly and the beer and wine selection was decent. The restaurant lost power for about an hour but they kept serving us and were also able to take our food order. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. It was a fun first-time experience.

My husband and I Went to the bar to have a drink and some food. When we arrived it was 8:15 You would have thought we walked in at 12 am. 3 bartebders on shift but none seemed eager to serve us. Finally we were served drinks and food. None were good enough to return. Very disappointed, were locals and regretted not visiting our favorite spot.

Fantastic experience. Seafood and meats are always fresh and well prepared. Service is prompt and staff extremely personable. Let the bartenders create one of their new tinis or prepare your favorite. Bar and restaurant menus are extensive but the Chef will accommodate special requests. A must when in Cape May!
