Great take-out. We love Chinese food and have tried quite literally every place around. A friend who lives in Bordentown mentioned this place to us and so we gave it a shot. Greta tasting food, one of the best around, and a huge variety of both the classic meals and appetizers, as well as others that we have not found too often, such as shrimp dumplings, lamb dishes, and sushi/Japanese appetizers like Miso soup. Everything we had we loved and will definitely be back. My only two complaints are A) their take-out or delivery orders take very long and B) they honestly are very expensive. For a family of 4, we usually spend around 40-50 dollars at Great Wall, however our total at Jade Island was over $90. Otherwise, food was great, selection was great, and the staff really seem to know what they are doing. Also, not that it really matters, but the girls working the register and phones speak perfect English. Delicious food and a vast variety of options for everyone, but expect to be waiting around for your food to be ready and spend much more than other places.

One of the best Chinese/Japanese restaurants in the Trenton-Bordentown area. The one tricky thing is trying to figure out how to get there (its on a side road next to Mastoris Diner, at night its very easy to miss) Ive eaten at Jade Island over a half a dozen times and usually try something different. I have never been disappointed with the food. The service is fairly quick. The prices are higher than most of the other Japanese places Ive been to, but this could be because they have a liquor licence, Today I had the Tuna Tartar which was on an avocado...spicy and very tasty. Ive had this dish at 3 other places and this was the most creativly prepared and had the best consistency and flavor. The blossom roll is simply delicious. Ive never had anything that I didnt like. Ive suggested a little sign pointing to JI because many people get confused getting into this place. I highly recommend stopping by, have a drink and share some rolls. The portions are very hearty.

I would give you a zero but there isnt that opition. My family and I arrived at aporox. 850. We were greated by a very rude balding waiter. He proceeded to inform us that he would be cleaning up at 920. He stood at our table rushing us to order. Than our food was quickly brought out and to go boxes handed out all around. We were going to get dessert but again they were too busy taking our soy sauce off of table which my daughter was not done with. We usually get to go and spend well over 100 dollars every time. This is not any way to treat paying customers. You lost a very good high spending customer. You should retrain your staff and teach them some customers service. Its a shame for you to lose a guest and not even care. We tried to complain but again he blew us off and told us to have a good night. SERIOUSLY,! I can only hope you retrain your staff. You will never see me in there spending a dime. Sincerely Bev Dimmick

Good food that was inexpensive. The crispy Chinese noodles are great tasting without being oily. I had miso soup which was good, but filled with a lot of soft tofu which I didnt care for. Crumbling some of the noodles in it helped with the tofu. For an entree I had the black spider roll which was delicious (softshell crab on the inside with eel on the outside). Lastly they gave some pineapple at the end which tasty without being excessively sweet. The staff was attentive and the food got out quickly. The only issue I have is the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Especially the tablecloths being dingy and dirty. They put the table paper on top, but not enough to cover all of it. Combined with the slapdash layout, bare walls, and a random TV in the seating area, it definitely seems more focused on takeout than dining in.

Surprised Im just now leaving a review. Ive been eating here A LOT for the past 2-3 months. Ive always ordered General Tsos no matter where i order from but Jade is the best. This is a 10/10. Everything else is probably a 6 at best. When you order from other places ( around me anyway) the "chicken" is mostly breading. Not here, every single bite is 100% chicken breast, cooked to perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Geez i sound like such a kiss ass lol... IMO order the General Tsos Chicken, if you like spicy ask for extra spicy. I would almost guarantee most of you will be extremely satisfied... Hope i helped. Enjoy!

Went back to this restaurant (now, under new mgmt. and more importantly with a new chef !) after almost 2 years and was blown away by the quality of the food - had the thai chicken (got the sauteed version instead of the fried one on the menu - they were kind enought to accomodate that request) and mongolian lamb - both very impressive - to me, the alternative to PF Changs is here!! minus the outrageous wait - dont expect the ambience of PFC, but do expect better tasting food!! Cant wait to try the Sushi. Head here for Chinese, Japanese, and a touch of Thai and you surely wont be disappointed!

Went with family and wasnt impressed. We had two toddlers with us and were never offered high chairs until we asked and were told to go look for it ourselves. When it came time to order the waiter was rude to us and took the menu away from our family member before she was done looking at it. While this was happening another couple who had just sat down a couple mins after us got up and left after seeing the rude behavior. We got up and left. I dont recommend wasting your time going there.

Disappointing. The sushi was relatively tasty but their portions on the Chefs Special Sushi menu were a joke. I paid $10 for 5 lousy pieces? No thanks. Their Chinese menu portions would also have left more to desire, but the food didnt exactly wow us. Personally, Im just going to stick to getting take-out Chinese at Wegmans. At least there you can load up on the protein rather than the rice/noodles.

Wow! The food is amazing!! The dine in entrees are huge. Initially we only wanted take out. But during the dinner rush we couldnt call in because the phone line was always busy. Instead we went in to order. The phone definitely doesnt stop ringing for dinner. There were very few people in the dining area though. Service was not good at all, but the food made up for it.

The general tsos chicken is awesome and the salmon lovers roll is great. However, I was disappointed with my last visit, as we ordered the sweet dragon roll, which is supposed to have tempura shrimp on the inside, but it was actually tempura crab stick. Felt like they were trying to fool us. At least we know not to order that anymore.

I had a order of fantail shrimp, sesame chicken and pork fried rice. Not very good. The shrimp was breaded. It was tough and tasted like chicken. The fried rice has large pieces of white onions instead of green scallions. The sesame chicken was pretty good., hence the three stars. It was not enough though, so I wont be going back.
