Horrible, horrible, over priced.....living in Asbury for a year, Ive wanted to try Sunset Landing....loved the location, but truthfully never heard anyone say anything either way about the establishment. Well I am changing that. It was Horrible. 1 plate of 2 over easy eggs with bacon, one place with 1 over easy eggs with sausage.....both came with toast, but no potatoes.....so 1 side order of home fries, which were apparently bagged frozen home fries. 1 order was served on a sandwich plate....barely enough for 1 person, and tagged at $3.85. two coffee, which was cold, I guess because there was no heat on in the place, so within seconds of being served anything hot, it was cold. The food was OK, I mean what can you do to eggs ???.....then the kicker, the check....I did notice that everything on the menu was al a carte....yes as I mentioned potatoes were extra to the egg dishes....the total bill for the two of us for the items above was $20.00....outrageous......nothing out of the norm......Too bad I did not look up trip advisor, because their reviews have been slipping since 2012.....They had better get their stuff together or close, because there are so many wonderful eating places opening in Asbury, that this place will be lost in the crowd, but a shame that anyone should have to pay $20 for a breakfast that could have been had in a diner for about $12 and enjoyable, with hot coffee.....Buyer beware, applies to restaurants as well as all else.

While I agree that the food is tasty and the setting is very nice (especially sitting outside), a recent visit revealed that the service (at least for us) is poor. No greeting when we entered, multiple unanswered requests for coffee refills, and a refusal to relocate us to a different table because the sun was in our kids eyes, even though the restaurant was less than half full, because it was in a different servers section and it would be "unfair." (I guess the tables in contiguous sections cant be reallocated.) In addition, the service was quite unfriendly (disinterest, boredom, general sense of being "put-upon"), creating an uncomfortable vibe in what was otherwise a great setting. I dont know if I would chalk this up to a lack of training or simple inexperience of the teenage waitstaff, or if this is a reflection of management. I hope the former, since Sunset Landing does have a lot of positives in the food and atmosphere categories. We are pondering going back, since wed like to hope that our experience was an isolated incident, but we may not, since we now have a such a negative impression.

To say my experience was horrible doesnt do it justice. The hash browns were dried out,hard, and tasteless. The asparagus special omlet- asparagus was bitter never new it could be bitter, the chees was not melted, and the egg was cooked to ensure it was dead to the world. Clearly the use of the term omlet is used loosely. Way overpriced. I watched the woman in charge berate a waiter walk away and then return to continue. Guess she had to make sure she took all his sunshine that day. Wont be returning EVER.

A very laid back environment, and solid service. Ideal for a relaxing breakfast. Offers a water front view, and a very personable owner. This isnt your typical dining place. It has fair pricing and an original menu. Unique sandwiches. The Bill Larkin Sandwich is incredible. Paid 10 bucks for the sandwich and 3 cups of coffee, and had a great chat with the owner. Ill go back for sure!

I dont understand the other reviews in the least. Granted it is not the sort of place to go if you want a quick bite on your way somewhere but the food is FANTASTIC! There is a great mix of classic and unique meals to choose from, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere. Sunset Landing is an all around wonderful experience.

I have been here several times and the breakfasts are unique and delicious. The setting and atmosphere is tranquil. Its not the hustle bustle or the newness of Toast on Cookman Ave. but it is on a Lake. Can not get much better than that! My friends from Europe just love this restaurant!

i have been coming to eat at this place for years , i never been disappointed with food or company . its like a favorite spot for me . i like the owners too, there friendly to everyone it seems . its like your going to a friends house to eat and chat , i like it here

Great food served by friendly people. Donna and Rob are the best and treat us like family. Everything on the menu is unique, delicious and fresh. My kids have enjoyed feeding the ducks outside after a fun and delicious meal, and now my grandkids do too!

One crazy woman cooking for the whole place who yells at her staff. This translates into a staff that seems like they could care less if you eat or starve. After 2 visits...I will never go back. The owner really needs to learn how to run a business.
