Visited on the way back from the shore. So glad I did. Fun, innovative cuisine, exquisitely presented in a friendly atmosphere all for a reasonable price, hooray! Started with the twigs and berries salad. Arugula, diced strawberries, sunflower seeds, fried goat cheese tossed with just the right amount of a delicate balsamic. Had the potential to be too sweet but was just perfect. Next was the short ribs nachos. Homemade thick nachos with coarse salt smothered in tender pork, smoked Gouda, mild pico de gallo and tomatoes. Finger licking good. My wife had the seared scallops and I had the pan seared trout. Hers with lots of Veges and mine with green beans, creamy couscous and a light red sauce base. Both were delicious with just a touch too much salt. Presentation again was an added bonus. Chocolate beignets (fried donuts) with toasted marshmallow were a wonderful treat to finish things off. Service was pleasant and friendly. Menu is small yet I left wishing I couldve tried everything and cant wait to go back. Kudos!

La Rouge 23 is wonderful. The food is so good - fresh and unique. The chef seems to put his heart and soul into everything he cooks. The chefs wife provides friendly and caring service to patrons. I love this place and look forward to going there on a weekly basis. Good thing my hubby and our friends are on the same food page!
