I live in NY and visit my son who has lived in Merrimack for the past 10 years. One of the highlights of my visit was to visit Florences restaurant to enjoy a great Italian meal. On my most recent trip to see my son he informed me that Florences had a new owner so we decided to visit it. While we always enjoyed visiting Florences we decided to try the "take-out" service since my son has 3 children under the age of 5 and I was visiting with my granddaughter age 3. I telephoned and after placing my order to six meals I was told that the restaurant was not taking any more "take-out" orders. Prior to this I have never had a "take-out" restaurant ever inform me that they were not taking any take -out" orders. Needless to say I have made myself a promise never to ever visit your restaurant if this is the type of service you offer.

Decor and atmosphere was pleasant. Felt like we were being passed between waiters considering 3 people came up to us and said they would now be taking over for the last person. Food was so-so, under seasoned but otherwise prepared well. At 20+ per plate i would think the chef could throw some salt in free of charge. The bread was good, ill give you that. Either lower your prices or raise your standards..

After Ya Mommas closed we were bummed. That was our go to place for Italian. I am pleased to say Portofinos appears to have filled that void. The six of us all enjoyed our evening. The waiter was excellent, the atmosphere was nice (I do miss the old Italian crooners playing at Ya Mommas), and most importantly the food was excellent. We will be making this our Italian restaurant.

Service a little slow, but perhaps we are just not used to fine dining speed. First batch of bread was under cooked, second batch was better, but yummy fresh baked. Meals were veal parm, chicken carbonara and chicken picata. We gave the meals a 7, 8 and 8 respectively. Will definitely go back. Love the idea of the side choices, sort of like small plates.

I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. The mascarpone and pear ravioli was very very good, just a tad too soft for my taste. It was clearly made in house and the flavors were great. Service was kind and I would have expected it to be quicker with so few people in the restaurant, but it wasnt so slow that we were offended.

We went there for lunch last week. Very clean inside with nice atmosphere. The Chicken Parm was great as were the shelled food. I also got shrimp risotto, it seemed bland when strictly eating the risotto without a bite of shrimp. Over all very clean, good food and very nice employees.

Went there last night for dinner didnt like sitting at a table being able to look into the sevice area where they get the soda and beverages wasnt a clean area if Im paying good money for dinner I dont appreciate looking into that area

The food was good, just about as good as Olive Garden but close to twice the price. Plus the atmosphere on a weekend night was quite poor. Of the ~25 tables in the main dining area there were three seated including us.
