Went to Cracker Barrel today and all I can say is that it was a very weird experience. Ive been to Cracker Barrel before but the Londonderry location seems to be the dumping ground for servers who couldnt hack it at any other restaurant. Before I get into that, the restaurant itself is cute and the gift shop is a good way to kill some time. That pretty much does it for the positive part of this review. After waiting a good 10 minutes to even be acknowledged, our frazzled server, Rosemary M., came over to tell us that she had to take another order and would be back to take our drink order...and then, after noting the sideways glance of disbelief between me and my friend, she decided to just take our drink order. We informed her that we were ready to order and Rosemary proceeded to tell us that the kitchen cant handle more than one order at a time (?!?!) so she couldnt take our order then...and then took or order, all the while babbling about what order she would place the orders in with the kitchen. Things really got bizarre when my friend asked for ketchup and steak sauce and the biscuits that she was supposed to receive but didnt. Rosemary M proceeded to basically argue with my friend over her requests - "try the meat first then decide if you want the ketchup and steak sauce" and as for the biscuits, we got to hear the harrowing tale of how she was barely able to get the biscuits that came with my order. Rosemary did eventually return with all of the requested items and then dropped the check off before we were even three bites into our food, telling us that it was "no rush". Well, Rosemary M., I have quite a bit of experience as a server myself, so let me give you some advice. 1. If you keep a table waiting for 10+ minutes without a bit of acknowledgment, you had better at least be ready to take a drink order when you finally decide to show up. 2. Customers arent in the least bit interested in what goes on in the kitchen. This is why we are paying to go out to eat- so we can relax and enjoy ourselves. It is HIGHLY unprofessional to make excuses and make it extremely obvious to your customer that you ARE rushing them, even though you keep stating the contrary. 3. If we want your opinion, well ask for it. Its none of your business if we want to put ketchup on our meat or our ice cream. It IS your business to promptly meet the customers request with a smile. After all of that, the food was just ok. My breakfast was decent, even though I ordered my eggs over hard and they came over easy. The grits were gross and Im not sure why they include these on the menu in the North- its just not our thing. I can honestly say that I have never had an experience in any other restaurant in my life where the server was so contrary and unwilling to be of any service. And I have a feeling that the service is generally lacking in this location, based on the fact that the server waiting on the table next to us was actually complaining about being there to her customers!!! The only thing that makes me glad about my experience today is that I now know that theres no reason to visit again.

Sunday breakfast. Party of 3. Been a while since we visited, because the food is not very good. But had a gift card, and Free is hard to ignore. On my plate were 2 tiny, cooked to death, sausage patties about 2" round, (even Burger Kings are larger) and 2 small, slightly over cooked eggs (over ez ?). The plate was half empty. It was embarrassing when I asked the server if she was proud of it. (She said nothing). There was 4 pieces (not halves) of bread on a 2nd plate and a small bottle (more than adequate) of real syrup. But those things they called sausage were hard and dry and I swear they were cooked the day before. I sent them back for an order of bacon, which was much better. Over all, poor value and not worth sitting on uncomfortable chairs in a noisy environment. The service was good. Friendly people, but I dont think there was a manager on duty. No one came to our table to make sure we would be coming back. And we wont be.

This is the absolute worse place to eat, just the worst, we paid three dollars for an iced tea which was free refills, and the waitress on the second refill she put water in the empty cup from the sweet tea on the edge of the table and told me im a mother and shes not putting up with "this" and that the water is better for me, so she came back 30 minutes later and said she was kidding, after i told her that i wanted another sweet tea, another 30 minutes go by, everyone else who came in after us looked to have great service and basicly got there food and left reciet in hand, the only thing good was the exercise from us walking out.

The worse Restaurant experience I have ever had on Dec. 7, 2011. Have been there before many times and most were fare to OK but this time I was part of a small group. They took the orders OK, but waited over an hour for the food, then they informed me they had run out of corn beef I ordered, and gave me a choice of dinners THEY STILL HAD. A few minutes later they serve me a big slice of meatloaf and said that was all they could give me in a timely manner. Then they charge me for a dinner even though I had ordered a sandwich. I will never darken the door of a Cracker Barrel again. 2 thumbs way down

Fun place. Food is good. I think the portions have gotten a little smaller than when I first started going there but there is plenty of food. The key for me is the waitress/waiter. I have a favorite. One waitress told they dont offer biscuit at the table while you wait anymore due to corporate policy. Luckily my favorite waitress still offers and it definitely makes a difference to me. Its a few cents worth of flour but a huge asset in perceived value for me. My waitress makes sure I have fresh hot coffee, my food is hot and cooked correctly. Shes great! She keeps me coming back.

5pm on a Saturday... No corn bread ready, No meatloaf available at all.. Biscuits are hard as rocks. I seriously dont know what all the hype is about this place. I got chicken and rice that was a Saturday special.. there were 2 tiny round medallions of chicken on top of a huge pile of rice.. the "steamed" broccoli wasnt cooked properly if at all and the waiter Patrick walked around with his hands in his pockets and made it quite clear he didnt really care if he had a job or not. My first time here and not one thing make me interested in returning besides the taste of the mac and cheese.

The woman who work the registers inside the store were wonderful and very pleasant and one of them brought me to my table and even pulled my chair out for me! ...then I had the worst waiter of my entire life.. he seemed like he took his job as a joke, which made me feel totally uncomfortable and not welcomed. He then brought over the check and took my plate while I was still eating with the fork still in my hand! I tried to be very nice thinking maybe he was just having a bad day, but WOW.. the food was good, if I had the chance to finish it.. or even get the rest in a to go box..
