WARNING!!!*KEEP OUT** I elected 1 Star as I cant leave a comment unless I do. But to be honest this place gets a -5! My family and I eat out quite often and we rarely eat processed foods- so- when youre served something that claims to be authentic but is overwhelming with an "I came from a can" aftertaste - you immediately know this place is as far from authentic and as far from Mexico as it could be. I should have been alerted when we ordered cheese with the complimentary chips and salsa and they served us nacho cheese sauce from a can (I can get that at a concession stand?) not to mention the salsa tastes like pace picante mixed with ketchup and barbecue sauce- TERRIBLE!! I had a taco salad and an enchilada. The beans and ground beef in the salad were a light mat brown color (just didnt look like most ground beef-but rather something that would come out of your 1991 cafeteria stainless steel serving pans in middle school) and the cheese enchilada was drowned in red enchilada sauce (with an overwhelming sugary- sweet taste-ughm- from a CAN!) I simply cant believe that someone would have a restaurant but fail to atleast hit the mediocre mark. I mean- you would have to be blind if you think patrons are leaving your restaurant happy? This may be top 5 worst meals Ive ever eaten- there was just something terrible about it. And definitely the worst meal Ive had in a decade! Awkwardly enough it seems it may be in trouble. Serving up cheap canned sauces and foods for $13/plate but then turning around and not allowing your child to sub rice (which was dry and disgusting-likely pre made ) for French fries on the kids menu. However their portions are out of control large. The salsa was served in large bowls- that even if it were good we would not have put a dent in it!- and they gave us two bowls with one salsa claiming to be spicy (perhaps more barbecue sauce in this one)? The enchilada took up an entire plate after they drowned it in canned sauce. Just didnt make sense- something is wrong with the guy in the back that thinks what he is serving can pass as food! I highly advise NOT eating here.

You what they say about learning - it happens after being subjected to same experience time and time again - apparently i cant learn. I have been to this restaurant way too many times as I really dont like it but my experience two nights again took it too a new level. Comparing Little Mexico today versus what it used to be like - well it as aged quickly and at this time is simply on life support. The chips and salsa are probably their best food - the chips and salsa used to be so many times better when they were homemade now they taste store bought. If for unexplained reason you decide to go - stick to tacos, burrito (smothered), or barrada. The further you go off the basic the further in trouble you get. We had the fajatas this last time and they were horrible..simply horrific..expensive as heck with hardly anything for portion - it didnt even come with rice and beans which may have saved the selection as how much can you mess those up? The appetizers are average at best and they give you so few its basically enough for one person. I cannot express strongly that this place should be the last choice in kearney for mexican food. Over the last 3 years it has gone from passable to HORRIBLE. They need a new manager and chef and a new server staff as sometimes the service can be the worst in town as well.

Im giving it a one because thats the only thing I could do if I wanted to leave a review. We were in town for the Mr. Basketball tournament. After the tournament, we went to eat supper at approx. 7 pm on Sunday evening The place was not busy. We waited 15 minutes for a server to come to the table. When she came with chips and salsa, we asked for another bowl of chips. Our server said ok but it would be awhile. She would bring it when she came back for our drink order. We asked if we could get some water and she again told us it would be awhile! After 5 minutes, I went to the bar and got a pitcher of water, filled our glasses, and went back to the bar and refilled our pitcher of water myself. We waited 15 more minutes and still no server! We decided to leave and my husb and asked to talk to the manager. He was told the manager was too busy. Needless to say, not impressed by the service or lack thereof! Not a great way to welcome out of towners!!!

I think the chef here has had a stroke: all of the food had a seriously "off" taste. The mild salsa had more in common with barbecue sauce than pico de gallo, the "hot" salsa seemed to be flavored with horseradish, the tortilla chips were caked with garlic powder, and the enchilada sauce on my food was, I swear to god, thinned campbells tomato soup. Had this been a blind taste test, I would have guessed that this was something made by a broke grad student. Considering that the meal cost us nearly $30 (2 drinks, appetizer, 2 non-combo meals) I would have hoped that this would have been at least edible, but as it was it definitely makes my "Worst in Kearney" list

Ive traveled all over the world, and all over the U.S. I have eaten at countless restaurants of all different styles. I can honestly say, that of all the places Ive ever eaten, Little Mexico was by far the worst "food" Ive ever eaten at a restaurant. Its hard to fully describe the inedible slop this place tries to pass off as Mexican cuisine. Cheap, nasty, frozen meat, coved in cheap canned sauce. The "salsa" was cheap enchilada sauce mixed with Rotel, and not one of our party could eat it. Its almost worth going to this place once, just to see how laughably bad it is. Just expect to leave feeling nauseous.

This is the best place to eat in Kearney. We used to live there and love there food. We never had bad food there. We moved away and every time we get back to that area we stop and eat there. There salsa is awesome. We love it so much when my husband is working in that area he buys some and brings it home. They also have the coldest frosty beers I have every had. You get alot of awesome food for a good value.

This was the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. It was bland, cold, and tasteless. The "hot" version of the salsa was Pace Picante, and the enchilada sauce was definitely canned. There was nothing authentic about any of the food. Our waitress was nice, but the food was horrible.

My husband and his family has been eating at all of the restaurants for all the years they have been open in Rep City and Kearney. We have continued the tradition with our kids and grandkids. That is 5 generations who love eating here.

We were very happy with our meal on 4/18/17. The Chimichangas had lots of meat and other ingredients and were delicious. We also think the salsa has improved a lot since our last visit. Keep up the good work!
