Ive been here a few times, both for the lunch buffet and dinner. The lunch buffet is quite good, with a fair amount of selection and good quality. The server can bring fresh naan (bread) to the table for you upon request as well, which is quite nice, as their naan can be fantastic. For dinner, I find the quality again quite good, although I dont think it is overall up there with Seva in Liberty (best Indian in KC, in my opinion). Thats not to say it isnt good, as it is quite tasty. Portion sizes are a bit smaller than some, mostly in that the dishes Ive had had quite a lot of sauce relative to the amount of protein (chicken, fish, etc.). That said, Ive never left hungry, and that extra sauce is great to put on rice, or mop up with some of their delicious naan. Overall, if you want some Indian up north, this is a good alternative worth a try versus the nearby Swagat.

I had been excited to try this restaurant since noticing it on my drive home. I will say my expectations were high since there is another restaurant that serves a similar cuisine, Swagat. I have only experienced the lunch buffet for both places. By comparison the meats in the dishes here seemed tougher, maybe from being over cooked but I cant say. I was expecting the food here to be on par or better. It is a matter of opinion but I didnt enjoy the food here as much. It was still a good meal at a very fair price. A highlight of the meal was the hot / fresh garlic Naan brought to your table. Pros: Price is fair and cheaper then the alternative Free Mango drink Fresh / Hot Garlic Naan Cons: Meats seemed tougher Quality not quite on par with my other experiences

We used to go Swagat restaurant all the time but lately theyve been behaving so rude so tried Moti mahal instead, and we were so happy to had food there. It was very tasty food. The staff was trying to do their best. It was not best service they had but yes staff was very polite ..way better than Swagat. And if Swagat food is 7* I would give moti mahal 8* ...for sure...thank you for good food andiet trying to serve it properly. And not to mention 1 thing , at Swagat we had gulab jambu and was made with breads...but at moti mahal had pure mawa gulag jambu.

Tasty and welcoming, with a family-run feel. The kitchen will tailor the spice to your taste. The menu includes all the Indian classic dishes youd expect, plus some specialty items unique to the restaurant. The highlight for me was the Garlic and Onion Naan. Its hard to go wrong with this traditional bread, but Moti Mahals version is extra savory. The goat stew also had a wonderful flavor, though the meat was a little tough. Dont know whether to blame the animal or the chef for that. Id definitely dine here again, and bring friends.

After moving from 9 Hwy to Barry Road a few months ago, their decor is very warm and welcoming. A very cute little Indian restaurant, with the nicest staff. Their flavors are the best! My daughter loves their Tikka Masala, but I go vegetarian. They have tons of vegetarian on the menu, as well as on the buffet. I like their Moti Korma - its soooo good! Spicy, but good! Also, their Chai is THE best around! In fact, its the best Indian Food Restaurant in all of the KC Metro, as far as Im concerned!

Out of town for my birthday, looking for a treat and they delivered. Decor and atmosphere welcome you as soon as you walk through the door and assure you that you are in for some great food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And then the food starts arriving. Oh my. We travel the country and have only found one other Indian restaurant to top it. And the portions are more than enough to satisfy the biggest eaters. We are stuffed and still leaving with enough for a second meal.

Moti Mahal is nothing short of fantastic! For me this place is second only to Swagat. Which any Kansas City native knows, is high praise indeed. There are some items here I enjoy even more than Swagat. The buffet is what I had at both locations. I enjoy the chai tea more here than Swagat and the Chicken Tikki Masala is phenomenal! Best Ive had in the city. I look forward to returning and bringing friend and family with me.

One of our two favorite Indian restaurants in Kansas City. The other is the second location in Westport! Delicious Indian fare prepared in a different style than the nearby Swagat. We love both, but Moti Mahal is hands-down our favorite. There are a lot of Indian restaurants in Kansas City, but, wherever we live in this city, we will make the drive to one of these locations when we crave Indian.

We walked in there at 2:15 during lunch time. The server told us that they were closed. Their sign says they close at 2.30. I was like well your sign says you close at 2.30. And he told us to hurry up and eat. We ended ul leaving and going to zona. We used to go there at least once a month. They just lost 2 customers and got a bad review.

My sister and I went to this place couple of months ago. The lady who works at the front is extremely rude!!! And like another customer said on here, she too, made a huge scene when I wanted to use my groupon. The only reason I went there because its new, and had a groupon to use. I will not be returning there!

Very clean. Decor was fine. Food tasted great and they brought plenty of nan to eat with the meal which was complementary. Also complementary was the Mango Lassi which was outstanding. Family of four for under $40. This is the best Indian food restaurant for my budget in the Northland. I highly recommend.

Wonderful Indian food. Lunch for 2 on Sunday was $22. Superb price for an exquisite meal. Pros: Naan Chicken masala Chai tea Mango lasi Basmatti rice (Pretty much all buffet items) Cons: That I cannot eat more! If you are looking for a quite place to eat authentic Indian cuisine, this is your place.

This is great! Just like the Motis Indian Restaurant that I used to go while posted in Tokyo, Japan. Ill definitely go back again. I only did take out order of butter chicken and the naan bread. It is just the same as what I had in Japan. I cant wait to try other food.
