If youre downtown and craving an excellent sandwich or slice of pizza, this is your stop! First time visitor and will be returning! On the recommendation of the server I went with the Milwaukee style Ruben and Im glad I listened! The corned beef had great texture and flavor. The grain mustard and house kraut added a nice kick to the sandwich as well. It all comes together for a well rounded sandwich! Went with the side of German potato salad and it had excellent flavor as well. Good compliment to the sandwich. My partner in crime went with a slice of pizza and my oh my was it a giant one! Once slice fills a normal pizza tray! The toppings were fresh and the crust thin and crispy, just how I like it! Plenty of beer choices to wash the meal down as well! If you havent been here, swing in for a bite to eat. Parking is easy as there is an inexpensive garage right opposite the restaurant on Baltimore.

I really didnt want to hurt anyones feelings with this review because our food wasnt too bad but our waitress really really really needs to look into her hygiene and smell. It was my first time here and I couldnt really tell you that I enjoyed the food because her smell would "waft" over our table every time she was there or walked by. Im sorry, but now every time I think of this food all I can think about is that smell and it was so overpowering and made me gag. Theres no way the management cant smell that. Please correct!

The food is really not as it is hyped up to be. The reuben which was recommended by the Waitress lacked flavor and was a sopping grease ball. Honestly, I tasted more caraway from the marbled rye than I did any flavor from the meat. It also left a lovely layer of grease in my mouth. The potato salad was goopy, and not really German as they call it. Further their boisterous female waitstaff kept to themselves with little guest interaction. Of all the great good in KC, there are better choices.

Good selection of craft beers and full bar with good selection of craft spirits. Pizza is good. Not ensnared of their sandwiches. Service is good and bartenders solid if a bit surly at times. Main reason I knocked stars off is owner is temperamental and prone to yelling at his staff in front of customers during service. Also has been rude or unaccommodating to his customers. Has his policies for eating in and taking out and they are frustrating and confusing to guests.

Quite possibly the best pastrami Ive ever tasted! This place does more than prepare food - they create it. Everything has a hand crafted, unique flavor -- delicious!!! The setting is a well preserved glimpse into 1930s pub life. Very friendly, knowledgable people who take pride in doing it right. Great selection of craft beer too! This will be a "must stop" for me when in KC

Ive been to the Milwaukee Deli a few times in the past year because its right around the corner from my office. Every time I go Im a little less satisfied than the last. They have the most disappointing $12 sandwich in the financial district. Unless youre looking for a drink, its worth your time to travel the extra few blocks to the river market (just hop on the streetcar).

Small and well-decorated. I wish I had ordered the calzone ahead of time because my group was in a rush and it is the singular item on the menu that takes a little too long to make. Maybe the waitress should have mentioned that when taking drink orders, just in case? Drink prices as part of their happy hour were good and it was a decent selection.

Restaurant kind of has a musty odor. Staff was very very friendly, but food was a bit disappointing. Had the KC Corned Beef. The beef did not have much flavor (although the sandwich was nicely toasted). Im accustomed to more meat on my sammie too. The German potato salad was not great and the house-made pickle was very cucumbery and somewhat acrid.

I live a block away and have been maybe six times in two years. For that reason alone i consider myself an abject failure. Pizza Rye Beer Meat salads They rescued a crumbling historic building in a slightly out of the way location and turned it on to a neighborhood gem.

A slightly above average bar and grill. Prices are reasonable and they have a pretty solid selection of kraft beer. Staff was friendly and somewhat attentive... Update... another visit... Pizza is good, but staff could seem to mostly care less that you are there.

Ate there Saturday 4/29/17. Had the Corn beef and a dark beer. Fantastic food. Server was very welcoming and took a few slices of pizza back to the room for later. I will be back thats for sure. The building has got to be old by the way its set up. Great atmosphere

This place is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Their reuben was perfect. Absolutely perfect. The draft beer selection was varied and well chosen. Friendly staff, great vibe. Looking for a higher tier of pub grub and solid craft beer, this is the place.

If you like really good Pizza, go to Milwaukee Deli! BIG slices for $3.99 (my favorite is the "Highway Special"). Their other food items are not bad, but pizza is definitely the best you can get there. Great selection of beers too.

The food is really good, but inexpensive. You can order by the slice, but the slices are huge. Each sandwich Ive had has been delicious. The beer selection is solid too. And the service has always been great.

Food always hits the spot here. The prices are great and the portions are very filling! I love to design my own slice of pizza, but the pulled pork sandwich is also phenomenal! So hard to choose...

The food was great. The environment was laid back and perfect for lunch. We had soup of the day, the pulled pork sandwich, and a ricotta calzone. The pulled pork was our favourite.

Best pizza around. Order by the slice for 5 bucks and the slice that comes out is bigger than my face. (Thats big). Decent drink specials. 5/5 for quality, price and atmosphere.

Been here twice now. Great lunch spot with a lot of history. Nice staff. Reuben, grilled cheese, and pizza were all great. Need to do some drinking next time.

Sandwiches were underwhelming, and salad was just average. Good spot to pop into if youre in the area, but isnt much of a destination spot for downtown.

Damn good pizza slice! Best slice Ive had in KC. Art of Pizza not even close. Beer is good too. Need to try their sandwiches, the bread is great here.
