CRAZY! Heads up Waconia. Just got home from a family lunch and the new Ground Round in Waconia. I ordered a chicken sandwich with cold slaw. After playing 1,500 shows Ive tried some great and not so great slaw around the Midwest. For a local example of great slaw try Floyds in Victoria or Lolas Lakehouse in Waconia. I was served spoiled slaw. The taste was bitter and the smell was pungent. I asked the waitress to have the cooks taste the slaw hoping they would pull the batch before people got sick. Cooks get busy, I get it. Stuff goes bad. She was a sweet girl and gave the slaw a smell. She squinted, pulled her head back, and apologized. A short time later General Manager Nadine McDowell returned to the table and said she "tried (my) the cold slaw and it was fine". I asked if she was kidding as Ive seen hundreds GMs in action and NEVER seen them say that to a customer? She said it was made "fresh" this morning. I said its bad. Bad/foul ingredients prepared in the morning dont make it fresh. She said there was nothing wrong with the cold slaw, thats how theirs tasted. I said with an attitude like that Ground Round would be closed in a year! She replied "I dont think so". Not that I wanted one, it was just slaw, but she still charged me FULL PRICE. One thing Ive seen from the great GMs in action is the customer is all ways right, even if they are wrong. We will be sticking to Lolas, Floyds, Golden Dragon, Pizza Ranch, McDonalds, even Subway. Never again at the Ground Round Waconia.

Server very friendly, good service... the "all you can eat cod" was horrible. Maybe stay away from any "all you can eat" fare there; the trick is, you wont want to eat much of it. The outside was so overcooked crusty, that I thought I was eating bones. My first bite; I spit out on my plate. The second went the same. Then I figured out; if you just open them up with your hands, you get a bit of "unburnt hard shell" from the middle of the fish! There was no panko breading, it was like broiled or something... but so hard cooked on the outside, that you couldnt just pop it into your mouth and eat it. I gave a piece to my mom, who declared it "unedible". I just asked for more, and took them apart, eating the white part in the middle that wasnt hard as a rock. DONT get the all you can eat cod. I fear they make pans and pans of it, and put it under a heat light, until it is no longer edible, then serve that.

I went here and ordered a new wrap thing, chewing on a tire was easier than eat steak a waiter gave me a dirty look and I didnt do anything to cause it she by again smelling awful like smoke and she grunted at me the beans tasted like prison food the rice was so spicy I was crying and I nearly passed out. piping hot soup. Stale popcorn. Rock hard fries. I asked for not much ice and luckly I got root beer with my ice. My mom nearly barfed at home I had diarrhea for three days because of the horrific poopy crappy barfy rotting load of garbage they mustve found in the dumpster they served us never ever go there unless you want the Hershey squirts or barfs. Insulting to waconia if they think that shot is good enough for us

Was seated and waiter did not come by for about 15 min. Our table of 6 ordered drinks and food at same time. Drinks came out about 2 min before food. Happy hour ends at 6 and at 6.02 my wife asked for another dollar off house wine. Waiter said he would ask a manager. Manager heard and stopped by, I asked if my wife could get another house special wine, manager said we should have started earlier and walked off. Food was ok but wont ever go back due to slow wait staff and snappy manager.

I cant imagine where the negative reviews are coming from. I ate two meals here last week and both were great. I had different staff and ordered different meals and I was more than satisfied on both occasions. Staff were very friendly and professional and the food was great. I really appreciated the convenience of the GR being next to the hotel I was staying in. If you are looking for friendly staff and good food, I would highly recommend the GR in Waconia.

Horrible place to visit.. My fiance and I are here. 1st off it was not a hostess to sit us at all, so we decided to have a seat at a table. It took a waitress 20 minutes to come over to the table, I ordered a drink which took her 12 minutes to make bc she fix drinks and took and order for some other people that came in 30 minutes after us. Horrible service and they do not deserve any stars. I will NOT recommended nobody to visit.

We ate at Ground Round again on september 1st. As usual the service was great. I had the Bison burger which I think is the best around. My wife had their french onion soup. We thought it was the best we have ever had. So often french onion soup is nothing more that beef broth with onions, cheese and a piece of bread, NOT so with their soup. We cant wait to return.

I, and friends of mine eat here regularly. I have never had anything but good food, and a wide variety at that. It is a bit pricey but after all, it is not McDonalds. I enjoy the variety. Most of the staff is very accommodating and pleasant. It is nice to have a quality restaurant nearby. Thank you, and I am sorry about the bad reviews. They are not merited.

Its was very nasty the ribeye wasnt cook the way I wanted it and the fries were cold as hell. The other people here are very disrespectful they where taking pictures of me and my mom. And when we said something nothing happened about it. If I could give this place negative starts I definitely would

Ordered the trio fajitas it was terrible there was eye lashes and hair in the plate and the the meat was premade and frozen thrown in the microwave oven nothing was good except the beer i had with the meal and the server was real good feel sorry for her trying to sell that crap for the place.

Friendly staff, wide variety of menu choices...We had the Turkey pretzel sandwich and Caesar salad, flat bread pizza, chicken quesos and bone in chicken wings (which were half price apps). Free big glasses of lemonade refills!! Reasonable price too, $50 for 3 people...

This is a great group of people that make and serve some of the best food around! The food is always prepared just the way I request it and always tastes fantastic! Im always welcomed with smiling friendly staff! I cant recommend Ground Round in Waconia enough!

The worst food I have ever had, our waitress was rude, scoffed at me when I asked for a refill, terrible service, even saw a couple employees in the back smoking a doobie. Horseshit, an absolute insult to the town of waconia and its people

The new menu is much better, and the burgers are great. The service is good, but they are still a little slow for my liking. Overall, I like it, and I will come back. Great place for games on TV.
