Slow service, food was mixed up, 1/2 our tables order came out, then 20 minutes later the other 1/2 of the meal came. The eggs were not done correctly and cold, the pancakes were lukewarm... and the waiter never came back to find out how our food was. This experience was a prime example of why so waitstaff do not get tips, and why restaurants go under. Oh... PS --- dont go to the bathroom. Ive seen cleaner bathrooms at rest stops in the middle of no-where. This was not worth essentially the $18/person meal we paid (not including the tip).... Tips to have a better restaurant: 1. Have a host/ess to seat customers -- this will help your waitstaff (as host should be getting initial drinks, etc). Also, the host can ensure that people are sat in the same general area, instead of all over the place. 2. Have more than 1 waitstaff on at all times 3. Bathrooms need to be clean 4. Waitstaff need to have a smile and be friendly 5. Cooks need to know how to cook the food and have it come out all together for a table 6. Waitstaff needs to be dressed cleanly, not in ragged and sagging jeans and a messy shirt. 7. Tables need to be cleaned off. There were at least 5 tables with dirty dishes with no customers sitting there! Additionally, wait staff NEED to take used dishes away when customers are done with them (pre-busing). Fortunately, Ive been to this Keys before, and it USE to be great ---- so, Im hoping this latest visit was a complete fluke! (and why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1).

Had a traditional Thanksgiving Day lunch in the way of the Roast Turkey Dinner. Probably the most astounding thing about this lunchtime dining experience is that - less than 5 minutes after ordering our lunches (we both had the Turkey Dinner) it was delivered to the table. Service was good. Our serving lady was quick, efficient, attentive, polite. (We sit in the front area looking out to Robert Avenue 08/11/2017 - but I dont recall her name.) At some point a couple beyond our ages came in and was seated near us. I witnessed profound kindness from our waitress when she stooped down next to the booth of this couple and she carefully and thoroughly went over the menu with the lady of this couple. The man with her seemed to be having some difficulty in determining what shed like for lunch. In short order this exceptional waitress had it figured out and placed the orders for this couple. She (the server) may think her exceptional kindness went unnoticed - IT DIDNT! I only wish Id have asked her name so she could be properly praised for her wanton act of kindness, care, and concern today.

Ive been to Keys Cafe a couple of times now and normally have great service and the food is good. Today we went for lunch and I had the taco salad and I had 6 big chunks of meat and 2 bags of lettuce and 4 chips and few tomatoes and Im pretty sure they put 2 chopped onions on it. I couldnt eat any of the salad and I had mentioned that it was soo spicy and there was nothing but onions and lettuce and the waitress stated Im not sure how that could be cause we dont put any spices on it. I took a couple bites out of the salad and the waitress noticed that I didnt touch it but there was no Im sorry or let us take care of it nothing so I paid $10 for a salad that was awful.

I went here a few months ago to write a review for a project for the college i attend (le cordon bleu ) and the service was just awful. It was an empty house besides a friend the worker was chatting with. I was not greeted, i ordered a coffee and the girl working was very rude to me. I asked her if she could answer a few simple questions related to the bakery for my project and she replied very snobbish with "no!..i have to serve people"...there was no one else in there! Really!?? I sat down to observe and she continued to glare at me while texting on her phone for the rest of my stay. This is what they call an inviting family style bakery!!??

It is great to be back. had come here for breakfast 2 to 3 times a month when I worked downtown land went to the Skyway Y on weekends but have not been here for almost 2 years. Looks like many of the good staff are still here out front and in the kitchen. I ordered what was my usual banana pecan pancake (dry) and Italian sausage. About 50 percent of time the bring butter (not dry) anway and this time they did. The only slip in service. The pancake was a little gooey and a little crunchy like I like it and the meat was moist and spicy in the right places. I shall return.

Stating that Keys is better than Perkins is praise enough. To better support my 5 stars, it was near closing time, the waitress was very nice, and the food was very good. Location 3 times is the key is the key to success, but add on good food and a smiling waitress, Ill take a bad meal or a grumpy server every once in a while. Not to knock the lovely meals and service Ive had at Perkins over the years, but if I want steak & eggs at 8pm, with a hell of slice of toast (x2) with what I took to be homemade (sure tasted like grandmas) jam. Ill be back.

Ive enjoyed every meal Ive had here. The service is great, sometimes even the chef comes out to deliver your food so you get an idea of who just cooked for you! Its pretty busy on Sunday mornings and afternoons with everyone showing up for a tradition sort of thing. But if you want a quiet meal alone to work on your school assignments or something, dinnertime is perfect. Theres even wifi so you can keep busy. As for the meals, Ive left satisfied every time. The omelettes I really recommend if you must try at least one thing on menu~

Will not honor online menu. Meal is listed with hash browns and when I ordered takeout a couple of months ago, there were no hash browns. I called and they said it was a website mistake but they would give me the hash browns next time and have the menu changed online. Fast forward three months and the online menu still shows the Loon omelet with hash browns and they will not honor this listing. Whatever. The food is mediocre at best and we will not support this rude behavior again.

I have a soft spot in my heart for this locally owned Cafe and Bakery (I love their carrot cake and rice Krispie bars). I wish strongly that theyd cut their portion size and prices. I would gladly pay 1/2 for 1/2 the food! There is a way around by getting the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup - but it is still a lot of great food - just be hungry. I do see a lot of people leave a lot of food --- so there is huge waste. I just dont get why the heap so much on the plates.

I just left this place very satisfied. This was the best blanco chicken chili I have ever had...... Ever. So satisfying on a chilly fall day. And the bread was amazing too. So was the cold press! The service was quick and friendly, no complaints. The place is also very clean despite the heavy traffic. Id rate it five but their prices are a bit high. Like with a tip I ended up paying almost 18 for a soup/salad with a cold press coffee.
