Going in to the store is always a fine experience - clean, well presented store with a great selection of items. I have had really good experience with their grocery pick up services as well. What knocks them down is the delivery service as I have had TERRIBLE experience - would give that a 0/5. The first time they forgot half of my order and when I called them I had to be transferred through about 4 different people and put on hold each time. They eventually brought the second half of my order. The produce they sent me was on the border of fresh - the blackberries were already getting sprouts and then bananas were already brown. Since I was already irritated and was just going to freeze the bananas for smoothies anyway I decided not to call and get transferred 55 times again. If I had actually wanted to eat the bananas fresh I would have had to eat the whole batch within 24 hours which is not cool. They did give me a $10 off credit due to the forgotten items so I figured I would use it again today and give it another shot. I scheduled my delivery window from 1-2 because that would be the only time I had available to answer the door (Im 9 months pregnant and currently WFH and had several meetings I needed to facilitate uninterrupted). 2:15 rolls around and no delivery, no calls, emails. I call the store and ask where my items are and she said she had to call me back because she didnt know. A few minutes later she calls and said the driver ran into some "Issues" and wouldnt be there until 2:30 at the absolute earliest. This didnt work for me as thats when my meetings started. I asked for a refund and she had to have a manager call me back for that as well. Still waiting to see if they will actually refund me anything as I got an email saying my delivery was missed due to me not answering the door, even though no one ever showed up or called... I so wanted this to work out - would have been a lifesaver with a newborn in a few weeks but we will continue shopping at Cub as it is closer to our house. The drive isnt worth it with a newborn to go to Hyvee.

The produce was fresh and they offered a good selection with some unique products. The bakery, deli, meat and seafood areas were also well supplied with fresh reasonably priced fare. Each had several original products. Some highlights include a smore doughnut in the bakery, a huge cheese sleeving from the deli, a sesame crusted ahi tuna steak and live lobster tank in seafood. I wont mention meats because this is the Midwest and everyone has great steaks here. In the center of the store everything returned to business as usual for the most part, with a fantastic bulk foods section and a huge bulk jellybean selection just adjacent. I dont believe this store deserves five stars, there is a Kowalskis that opened recently in Shoreview that I would barely be able to justify that rating for. I also dont believe it deserves to be rated three stars either. That said I ran into two employees restocking that both failed to yield to shoppers and armed to have a never ending supply of disdain for us as well. The first incident was nearly being run down by an employee pulling a pallet down the dead center of a very busy walkway, when I tried to move out of the way I was met with a nasty sideways glance. At another part of the store this same employee was putting items into a cooler, as I approached he stepped out between my wife and I letting her pass and pulling his hand cart out between us leaving me blocked. I stopped and waited until his third trip turning back to the cooler and pushed my way through. I dont know if I will go back, its really too bad a couple of rotten workers have spoiled my first impression of an otherwise decent shop.

I purchased a tiered cake for a baby shower and after picking it up and getting to my location I went to open the box to set up for desert table and upon opening the cake shifted all the way over and was completely ruined and frosting was super melted and soft. I was completely devastated being that this was for a special day and not presentable at all. I called and spoke with store manager and explained what happened and he said he couldnt fix a cake on time of that particular cake but can send over just a basic sheet cake to have for desert and when cake arrived it was nothing Profesional looking in fact the writing looked like my 8 year old son wrote on it it was just put together real quick with nothing extra like I paid for to begin with. and will take care of doing a refund but will get back to me regarding this matter the next day. I didnt receive a call back so I took it upon myself to make the call to speak with a GM and spoke to a man named William who was very unprofessional non empathetic questioning the price I paid on the cake and refused to do anything and stated their wouldnt be a refund. I will never shop here again because of this incident and hope those that are reading dont have the same experience. I have had way better experiences at sams club then here. Such bad service and just completely dissatisfied and disappointed in the level of service Ive received here...

I love our new Hyvee! Great affordable artisan bread, meat, and deli, and I love perusing the skincare! So fun to be able to find a nice gift at the grocery. Kris, in the bakery is so nice. My son still talks about how we got his birthday cake there! My one disappointment is this: I have a toddler and newborn. The aisles online ladies saw me struggling with my kiddos and suggested I might call the manager to see if I could get a delivery exception--I live just a mile north of the delivery area. I have called 3 times now (during business hours) and have been told each time that the manager was not working. My info was taken down and I was told I would be contacted back on my second call but still no call back over a week later. 3rd attempt and I was transferred/held numerous times, then eventually told to keep waiting to hear back from the manager. This has been disappointing, and somewhat surprising, as I have received good customer service in the store. Calling repeatedly has been unpleasant and time consuming, but the delivery service would be so worth it if I could get it! Update 4/12/16: they called me back and agreed to deliver to me! Increased to 5 stars!

Cub, being a home grown native, opted to build a new store across the street, but the Wisconsin based, employee owned business is one to keep a close eye on. You can not walk through the door without being greeted by someone willing to direct you to produce, or advise you on what other product you might want to consider. Management is the key to success, and when you share in the profits, people seem to go a little farther than what most employees will. Now, it is not a 100% over the top, A++ rating in every area; while they host their own sit down restaurant, the food is not up to the standards I would expect from this establishment. It is a different situation when you travel just a few feet to the deli style food court, equipped with everything from raw sushi, to meatloaf, however, there are still some improvements to make. Did I mention the fact that they have Starbucks, discounts on gas through food purchases, a flower shop, pharmacy, super bakery, and will bag you groceries, and walk them out to your car. Yeah. Even tops Piggly Wiggly.
