We arrived Thursday at noon, and it took 45 minutes to place our order and another ten to receive it. The line was even longer when we left. So the question becomes, is it worth such a long wait (standing up, in the sun)? Does the food justify it? In our view, no, but I hasten to add that we had only one item (a corvina salad); although this one was certainly edible, it was nothing at all noteworthy. Besides, we both thought there shouldve been more fish on the salad. Other offerings on the menu may be far better. Yes, the ambience is nice, but . . .. I would suggest going in the middle of the afternoon, or walking about a block to Lake Street where there are multiple food venues. We also couldnt help but notice that the operation seems rather inefficient. For example, there was only one window open. Why not two? Also, the cashier at that one window had to leave the window every time an order was placed to get customers drink selections.

The Tin Fish is the perfect place for not only outdoor dining, but dining period. The food is excellent and well priced. The perfect place to eat with friends or on a date or with family. The grilled tacos are excellent and the home made chips and salsa are a delight with peppers, jalapenos and cilantro it is a must have. Also a great deal is the Lake Calhoun lunch, for that guilty fried Talapia, waffle fries and slaw. The scenery of the lake is the perfect compliment and the owners and employees are the best. They even have puppy stations with water for the pups as well as free treats for them at the counter. This is a very popular place and there is almost always a long line so be prepared to wait a while to place an order, once it is placed the wait is not long to receive food. Well worth the wait.

This is a local gem! A must for locals and visitors alike. They are open after Memorial Day and through Labor Day. Despite the long lines and wait times, it is one of the most enjoyable and delicious lunch options around. The scenery on Lake Calhoun and people watching couldnt be better. Anything you get on the menu is going to be delicious and plentiful. Another thing I love about this place is that its very dog friendly. The owners LOVE dogs, and make it a point to have treats and water bowls out for your furry friends. Tin Fish is the definition of summer in Minneapolis, in my book. You cant go through summer without eating there at least once. And its not summer unless Tin Fish is open and serving their delicious fair. Go! You wont be disappointed.

Personally I have never has a better fish taco than the fried cod here at The Tin Fish. The line is really long on hot summer days but the people watching makes it worth the wait. Located on Lake Calhoun is also a huge plus. The food is excellent and I would highly recommend the fried cod fish tacos as a platter. This is their signature meal and is the reason so many come here. The mini tin is also a ton of fish for five bucks. Great value, awesome sunsets, and a great place to relax on the patio in the heart of uptown! If seafood is not your thing they have other options, or just drink a beer.

Spendy for what you get depending on the item. The fried mahi mahi, kids chicken tenders and the cheeseburger were fabulous. The cheese quesadilla was very lacking, flour tortillas and cheddar cheese melted in a pan, the cops and salsa were strange, the salary was just chopped up tomatoes, peppers and onions with some sort of seasoning and no liquid at all and the cops were fried flour tortillas triangles which were not like empanadas with no filling. We night be back now that we know what to order and well probably bring our own pop. Everyone working was awesome and service was fast.

The food is fresh and delicious, but it is certainly not worth the wait. Open only during the summer months, this place is a haven for locals seeking out some fresh seafood. Famous for their fried fish tacos and platters, you can also get grilled fish fillets, chicken, and hamburgers. Outdoor seating only on picnic tables. On nice summer days, expect to wait an hour in line to order the food and another hour waiting for it to be cooked.

Be prepared for the well-worth it long line and grab a tilapia taco with slaw for a hearty meal at a great price. Hummus and pita is also good pick. If you just want drinks or lite snacks, you can sneak over the the snack line on the right for a much shorter wait time. Take a seat and enjoy the runners, bikers, and paddle boarders cruising by; the staff will holler your name and bring your food to you.

A great place for lunch at the lakes. Their fish tacos/grilled fish sandwiches are the best. They have a wide selection of different fishes and sea food (shrimp, scallops, oysters among others) and a nice set of sides. A great place to grab some grub and a beer to have while at the lakes. Expect to wait in line if you come anytime close to lunch (11:30-2) or dinner (4:30-7).

Received a Gift Certificate from my sister for this place. Never head of it. Finally decided to visit before certificate expired. Wow, pleasantly surprised. Place is small, but food was great. I had the grouper...wife had crab cakes. Both outstanding. Service was outstanding as well. So good, we went back a second time. Food and service, again outstanding....Now on our...

On the plus side, very good food. It should not take an hour to order your food, especially after the lunch rush. Ive gone by there many times only to keep on going because of the line, so have many other people. Who has two hours for lunch? not me, I will never eat there again. Terrible!

There is a reason the lines are long, as this is one of the best outdoor dining spots in the City. The food is good and the lakeside seating is prime opportunity for enjoying people watching or the open aviary that Lake Calhoun offers.

Fish tacos are great! But why havent they figured out how to be more efficient by now? You would think at the very least they would open two order windows. They do that at Bread N Pickle when the lines get long.

Yum! Best fish tacos around. Lines are long (1 hour +) on weekends and nice evenings. Sneak in a weekday lunch or just plan to have some patience. You can also order snacks and ice cream from the shorter lines.

Decent food. Great scenery for eating. Kids menu available from hotdogs, grilled cheese, tenders and so forth. A lot of fish items that are grilled or fried, tacos, chips and more. Local brew also available.

Fun atmosphere right out on the water with good food. You order at a window and grab a table out on the deck. Waiting in line for the food is a little long on the weekends though. Great place to bike to!

Some of the best seafood Ive ever had. You cant believe it would come out of a park pavilion. Be prepared for long lines at peak hours but its well worth the wait. Beautiful setting as well.

Great food, ambiance, and location — right on the water. Line got long on a busy summer day. They could have had more than one person at the food ordering counter. But overall, nice place.
