Our family dined here on a Friday evening. Prime sandwich and mashed potatoes for me and broasted chicken and red potatoes for the hubby. Kiddos had a cheeseburger and fries for our son, and French toast sticks for our daughter. Basic hearty American fare. Service was friendly and our waitress was lovely. Best part of the meal. Food was stuck in 1987 when the restaurant began. This is literally food my 60+ year old parents enjoy. Hearty and heavy and very greasy and overdone. If thats what they are going for, then they nailed it. My plate (as did all our plates) desperately needed freshness as the beef was fatty. Wont be returning.

I was told by some friends to eat at Old Log Cabin so I decided to check it out. The place was really busy for a Tuesday night. I ordered a Surly Furious on tap and then I ordered the Sourdough Burger, which is not served on sourdough. I ordered the burger medium, it came out super well done, very dry, and no flavor at all. The bacon was burnt and the lettuce was pre shredded from a food supplier. The waitress, Tiana, was very good but I probably wont go back to eat at this place again.

My mother and I ate here for the first time yesterday. Ordered the Cabin Steak, which was prepared to perfection and seasoned just right. The cheesy broccoli soup with chunks of smoked bratwurst was hearty and delicious. The au gratin potatoes were creamy and delicious. And the service we received was wonderful. We drove 50 miles one way to get to the Old Log Cabin, but the long drive was well worth it. Thank you, everybody, for a great dining experience.

Still waiting to be seated after an hour And 20 minutes. The 3 hostesses very rude and took 3 large parties and 6 parties of 4 - 2 parties of 6 making our party of 9 wait. Worst experience ever and I used to come here two to three times a month. Have asked twice how long a wait and keep being told 15 minutes Do not come on Saturday night unless you know one of the hostess. Do not ask how long or you will wait longer!!!!

We had the walleye dinner and prime rib dinner special on a Saturday night. The prime rib was a little tough but they replaced it with another, which was still just ok. I dont think Id try it here again. I love prime rib and unfortunately this cut was "mealy"? The server was nice! My date loved the mashed potatoes and gravy and I liked the au gratin potatoes. The vegetable beef barley soup was AMAZING!!

Well, weve been coming at your place for years , food is always good , but today Friday (January 22) I had order a deep fried cod , an Au gratin potato and French onion soup , my soup came lukewarm, my Cod too fishy that I think its a piece of walleye , my au gratin potato just warm and no cheesy taste at all .. but the service was good .

Ive been going here for years and love Old Log Cabin! They serve great food and the waitstaff is very kind! They specialize primarily in comfort food, so dont expect much in the way of healthy alternatives if you go there. That being said, they make some of the best burgers in Forest Lake!

We ordered pork chops and a steak...pork chops without ANY seasoning at all and the steak was served to us with a big cut in the middle. (CHEFS DO NOT CUT INTO THE STEAK TO CHECK FOR DONENESS!!!!) Our server was also as well as the meal...LOUSY!!!! Taken off our list for Forest Lake.

Everything we ordered except the two chicken products, was extremely under cooked! And the chickens were burnt! Two diffrent types of preparation and both burnt! I cant agree with the ratings online! We went there because it was listed as the best place to go for a nice dinner!

Did a great job as bartenders for our wedding. Worked with John leading up to event, and he was always very helpful. They were able to meet our request of 5 gallons of Sangria for the reception and the guests loved it. Bartenders were great and prices were fair.

We went there to check out the food as we were interested in the catering. The Apps we got were very good, as were the ribs and chicken with great beer selection to boot. Good atmosphere in the beer area. Will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Ordered the prime rib lunch special. It was nothing to write home about. A very thin piece with little flavor and it was cold. It could have because we ate around 2 in the afternoon and we hit the end of the lunch hour.

Fish is to die for.. really good and you get a lot of it! My hubby is a big eater and he took food home.. Chairs need help, big wood style and not any padding for the butt... but food makes up for it..
