Great fish fry. Cod was in large chunks, hand battered (lightly), and perfectly cooked. Sides were adequate and fresh. No table service, just a buffet. But this makes it quick. Get your drinks at the bar and pay for the meal first (this is not obvious). Except for the bar section, the decor is pretty awful (looks like Grandma did it with material at the dollar store), but who cares. Though I think the old bar before the remodel had character!

Waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Beer is cold. Food is tasty, plentiful, and fairly priced. If there is a jukebox, it plays at low volume. What more could one ask of a Wisconsin country bar and grill. (And, unlike the St Paul Hotel Restaurant, there is not a guy with a stovepipe hat who takes your car keys and charges you $8.00 plus tip to park your car). Fully deserving of five star rating.

We have been coming here for years and years. It still is the best fish fry in our area. The coleslaw is always fresh and served true German style w/ a sweet, sour vinegarette dressing.
