This place is the worst place I have ever been to for breakfast. Me and my girlfriend sat and thought the food might be decent since we waited a while for it because technically thats what you would assume from a restaurant that takes time to prepare ones food. I ordered the Mediterranean but what I got was a far cry from what was expected. The omlete egg didnt look like egg at all. It looked and tasted very dry almost like it was baked in the oven. Not appetising at all. It ruined my whole mood for breakfast and worst of all even if I wanted something else on the menu didnt want to go through the pains of waiting for a long time since we were both hungry. Barely managed the food but this is somewhere I will never come to in the future nor recommended. I dont even want to talk about my girlfriends food. Inside her omelette just had a bunch of cheddar cheese oozing out 1 step away from clogged up arteries and feeling bloated or gassy. Thank God we discovered it. She didnt eat that poison even though she was hungry and still managed to tip the waitress. The pancake was decent but ended up wasting food and money that couldve been spent somewhere worth it... Im actually in shock the place managed to get 4 stars on Google. I guess for people who enjoy bland tasteless and unhealthy food

There are some things you will just tolerate and then there are things you just want put up with, and bad service is one of them. The experience at this location was subpar and it is really disappointing because I really like the Original House of Pancakes, just not this one. From the nonchalant service, to the lazy kitchen staff was just way too much to try and withstand. I ordered an omelet with egg whites and it was served half cooked, I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she offered to have them cook it a little more. I thought that was a bite much sense they didn’t cook it right the first time, so I obliged her and let her take it back to the kitchen. When she brought it back to the table it was in the same condition as when she took it back half cooked. I told her it was still half cooked and her reply to me is that’s how egg whites cook; I was flabbergasted at her reply. I was not about to eat uncooked eggs and I told her to take it back to the kitchen and I was not going to eat it. More insult to injury they said they would take the omelet off my bill, as if they were going to charge me for the meal. Totally disappointed was hoping for more but received less.

When we arrived at the OPH,there were three employees gathered at the front desk. We stood there for a few minutes looking around. We were not greeted and we then saw a sign to the right of us that said to seat yourselves..since no one was interested in helping us we entered the restruant to the left and sat in a booth. A waiter stopped by as we were sittting down and asked if we had been seated. We told him that we seated ourselves. He said " Oh" and walked away. We then saw him go past us 10 times in a 5 minute period. Within those 5 minutes the hostess then seated another man at a nearby table very lackadaisically, and no one had come back to wait on either of us in that time. It was not a packed house so to not be acknowledged seemed to be a bit frustrating to say the least. We did not eat the food so I can not comment on that. After a 10 minute wait, with no one offering a menu we felt they didnt need our business. We went to Dennys where we were greeted immediately with a smile and seated promptly with menus. Wendy our waitress was very attentive and friendly. THANK-YOU DENNYS for a great breakfast experience. OPH-you really need to work on your customer service skills!!

Delicious, the huge apple pancake was so sweet and scrumptious, staff was extraordinarily friendly, and on the ball about coffee refills. Unfortunately the wait time was horrendous even for a party of 2, and even though we told them we preferred outside seating and they affirmed theyd make note of it, once a table outside became available they announced there was outside seating to anyone who wanted it rather than calling our party of 2, and some lady basically ran in to get it before anyone else could get it. She probably would have shoved handicap children and baby puppies out of the way to get there before anyone else. They should have called us since we specified we wanted to sit outside, instead of offering it up for grabs. We ended up having to sit inside which was fine - our server was very nice, and we had a 12 hr drive ahead of us so we were willing to take whatever just so we could eat and get on the road. If theyd called us to sit outdide, Id have given 5 stars instead of 4 as everything else was stellar about the place!

Great for food allergy families! Our youngest & I have many common food allergies and they are very responsive. The manager is extremely helpful, we found out the last time we were there that the owner had food allergies, too. They will show labels, have individualized lights in the kitchen, and even a special plate. I didnt get the normal "look" from the waitresses when wiping down the height chair and table around my daughter. If you are trace level then Id suggest calling ahead but otherwise their pancake mix is pretty decent but make sure to mention what you have anyways so they know to adjust non-mix ingredients like egg. Pro-tip: call or get the app to make a reservation - they are almost always very busy. That being said, they are worth the wait! So much better than ihop, great pancakes, amazing thick cut bacon, many crafted coffee and tea options.

Ate there today. Pancakes were cold. Had to ask three times for sugar free syrup while my food continued to get colder. The service was horrible. The waitress stopped by one time to see if everything was ok. She never came back after that one time to see if I wanted more coffee, so I only got one cup of coffee for my meal. She didn't bring my bill...after waiting for 15 minutes hoping for more coffee I finally went up to ask for my bill. The waitress came up to the register then to give me my bill and said, "I'm sorry, I got stuck at a table outside." Excuse me? Stuck at one table for 15 minutes?! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Very poor service and cold mediocre food. update: I did just call and talk to the manager, and he is going to refund my credit card so he did seem to care that my experience there was so bad.

The problem with reviews is that one poor one can leverage all the responses. I have been coming to the Original Pancake House for years (in Edina). Same owners and attention to detail in the Eden Prairie location. Try everything here. Not a bad (or even marginal) meal to be had. Great apple baked pancakes. Love their bacon (thick and delicious). Portions are so generous. Great eggs benedict. Probably my favorite is the regular eggs and pancakes, but I subsitute for the chocolate chip batter and order a short stack. Get there early (before 8:30am) on a Saturday or Sunday for sure. Wonderful coffee. Whats not to like? The proof of the pudding is loyalty and people may wait for 45 minutes to get a table -- because its really worth it. (They have small cups of coffee to help you stave off hunger until your order arrives (promptly I might add).) Barb M.
