Dont be fooled by the positive reviews below - this place is NOT worth it. The buffet itself is VERY small and dwarfed by the amount of seating there is - there is a spot for appetizers, a spot for American dishes, a spot for Chinese dishes, a dessert area, and a spot for salads and fruits. The food tastes ill-prepared, especially the egg rolls, which some uninspired chef decided to put cinnamon of all things in (this is NOT a dessert or Greek food, cinnamon is NOT necessary), and the crab cheeses, which have NO crab in them (not even imitation) and taste as though someone put cheesecake filling in the middle. The sushi has no clear indication of when it was prepared and there is no sushi chef in sight, which made me very nervous. The array of foods is limited to a few popular Oriental dishes, and the rest of the buffet is dedicated to American food (If I wanted American Id have gone to Old Country Buffet instead). The chicken tastes overcooked and dishes with pork in them all taste like sausage instead of pork. The seafood isnt much better. As for dessert, the options are very limited, and the ice cream machine moves so slow in dispensing ice cream its hardly worth it. The atmosphere is dingy, as if they tried to make a Chinese restaurant and failed, and it screams "cheap". The only hint youre in a Chinese buffet is the stained glass window of Koi fish near the door and maybe some oriental decor near the counter. The price for the buffet is FAR too high for the poor quality of the food you get, its just not the best value for your money. The one good thing about it is the service - the staff is friendly and eager to prove themselves a good eatery; you really have to admire their dedication and chipper attitude towards their place of work. Its just too bad their food doesnt live up to the hype, the people that work here should be working at a MUCH nicer Chinese place. You want my opinion? Skip this buffet. If you want something oriental, theres a couple nice Thai restaurants close by, as well as an Old Country Buffet if you just want a buffet, a Vietnamese and Chinese diner called Golden 28, and Magic Wok in Century Square at Rivertown Crossings Mall. If you really must have a Chinese buffet, theres the wonderful Golden Gate on Division which is small but delicious (best almond boneless chicken in town!), and the very nice (and large!) Lotus Garden across from Rivertown Crossings Mall, which even has a sushi bar.

I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant in my life. The food was obviously sitting out for hours, a very large and bloody, raw piece of meat was sitting right next to the desserts which was very unappetizing. The majority of the food was cold. the bathrooms were highly unsanitary. Puke was unflushed in one of the toilets and water soaked the floor. Water was on the walls, ceiling, and all over the toilet. The toilet paper was even drenched with water. on top of all this, i also found it quite strange that they placed the seafood directly next to the fruit. And i didnt appreciate that at all as im allergic to seafood and there was a piece of squid in the mandarin oranges. All i know is im never going back and i dont recommend this place to anyone.

My experience there was horrible! Ive been there a few times and no issues what so ever but this last time was horrible, they tried to charge us an extra $5 for moterella sticks. We asked about the morerella sticks and they said it was a dinner special and they brought us out some and we were thankful for that but then they tried to charge us the dinner price because they brought us out only 6 little sticks. When we told them we werent happy about it they said they cant do anything about it and told us its better if dont come back and take our American asses to McDonalds for the same price as they charged(McDonalds would have been cheaper) horrible service

Will NEVER eat here again!! Horrible quality of food!! If I could rate a zero I would! Went here for my daughters birthday and she was very disappointed & sad. I asked for sushi without rice and it came with the most rubbery imitation crab & had rice hidden in the middle, I threw up and broke out in hives!! The kids wouldnt even eat their dessert it was that bad of taste!! The price was outrageous as well for 2 adults and 2 children we paid $42.30!! Just dont go unless you are ready to be completely disappointed and pay out the butt for extremely disgusting food (if you can call it that)!!

Ive seen many complaints n I too experienced my own upsetting experience, although it wasnt the food but rather a nasty attitude waitress approximately three years ago. It was my first dine in and no she didnt get a tip and Im good on tipping. I have been back though three or four times since. I actually just got food to go n I have no problem to speak of about their food. I only wish they would serve crab cakes tho

I feel they try to rush you out & stand over you & like watch or wait for you to leave. And what you pay for a carry out box they should be double the size. I do like their food though. The place I like the best for carry out is China Take Out on corner of Hall St & Madison. Its not a buffet but for $7.79 you get a container huge full of any combo fried rice & egg roll & 6/8 crab rangoons. This place is the best

Pretty good food at a decent price. Carry Out gives you a lots for your money. Is the place dated and a little run down? Most definitely. Is it disgusting and dirty? Absolutely not. Ive eaten here a lot and they have some of the best Sweet and Sour chicken around. Not the best Ive had, but the best Ive had in Grand Rapids.

Expectations are key. Who ever goes to a Chinese buffet thinking they are going to walk out feeling like they should have done that? There is enough to choose from to find a few things you like and stuff your face for 10 bucks with a drink. What else do you want people?!

Go here all the time for take out and occasionally sit down. It is an excellent buffet, clean, and great service. It is not massive and usually is not packed, but they stay on the food and it is good. I especially like the black pepper chicken and hot@sour soup.
