OK LISTEN UP PLEASE!! I consider myself a professional buffet critic and I know what Im talking about when I tell you this is the best buffet in Grand Rapids! I didnt have high hopes when I went their for the first time because I was disappointed with the other buffets I have been to in the area. Im from Detroit and we have 100s of buffets withing a 25 mile radius im not kidding, lol so I know what Im talking about!!! The food tastes amazing and even when you go around 2-4 when they are not busy and its STILL fresh! They have allot of Sushi which I have never been brave enough to try so I dont know how good it is. They also have a chef who makes you fresh food that you pick out. Very cool but the best part is the ingredients are as fresh as ive ever seen and taste amazing. I brought my friends from work here after telling them about it and they all are turning into regular customers(wheres my discount!?!?) If you decide to try this place I think you will love it. My ONLY complaint and its not huge but after you eat the waitstaff takes a long time to give you the bill. Its kinda like"ok do i just go up front and pay?" I give this place a 9.5 outa 10 for sure :D

Went there Sunday night a little after 8:00pm, to try it out for the first time. Looked almost exactly like a smaller version of a Chinese buffet place on the north side of town, same looking foods, side steak grill, and so forth (but instead of Mongolian at the other place, this one has sushi). Was rather disappointed. Steak grill was already shut down for the night, almost 2 hours before closing. Food variety was not good (mostly chicken items), quality was substandard in my view (some things looked like they were sitting there, untouched, for many hours) and of the items I chose to have, most were actually not very hot. Staff seemed nice but were slow to bring drink refills as well as the check, once I had finished. Prices were a little on the high side ($10.49 for dinner sans drink) as far as I was concerned - even if the food would have been halfway decent (which I didnt believe it was). I really cant recommend this place to anyone else.

Food was cold and nothing special. Had to wait 15 minutes until my drink was brought. When I finished my drink I waited another 15 minutes for a refill, but It never came. I went up to one server and asked if I could have a refill, she said okay, and never brought a new one. I finally saw my actual server and asked her for a refill. She brings me back the wrong drink, then comes back with my actual drink but says she forgot the straw and will be back with it, another 20 minutes go by, still no straw, when Im ready to leave I walk up to the register and pay, when doing so I see my server just standing around by the door doing nothing...Also a lot of the servers are just standing by the drink station and doing absolutely nothing. I would much rather go to several of the other buffets around: East Garden Ming Ten etc... So just to sum it up. Poor food, Poor Service, not what I expect in a Grand Opening.

We went today (Sunday) at about 1:00 PM and they were very busy. We were seated right away and the staff was great. The selection was probably the best I have ever seen, but the food was warm to cold. My husband and I tried A LOT of different items and the only items that were hot were the frog legs and crab rangoons that came out while we were standing there. This was disappointing considering we went during a busy time. They had a lot of different sushi, but we didnt feel there was anything special about it. East Garden Buffet at 60th and Kalamazoo has the best sushi around and all of the food is always hot. I seen other reviews that said the food was cold, so I was hoping Fuji fixed this complaint. Sadly this was not the case. Dont think we will be back.

Was my favorite place, cause the chicken is fantastic. Downsides: music is aweful unless you like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and frozen. Sushi was nasty. Just old and dry. And the last time I went they sat me next to a lonely woman watching law and order on her iPhone. I pushed off all these flaws until they told me I had to print off the coupon Ive used off my phone twice before and there were no "print me" specifications. Didnt appreciate paying $25 for terrible atmosphere. 45 min ago this woulda been a decently satisfied post and I would given the botd on the sushi, but you didnt take the damn coupon.

I wish to preface my review by paraphrasing that, " I never met a Chinese buffet I didnt like." Take that as you will. With that said I will say the Fuji Buffet and Grill is a cut above your average Chinese buffet restaurant. It has all the basic fare you would expect from a Chinese buffet plus the oysters, calamari, mussels sushi, etc. Very large desert area in the center of the buffet. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area it is clean and kid friendly. Speaking of kids.... the restaurant says that kids ages 4 to 12 get the full buffet for only $2.99 Monday through Thursday.

Decided to give this place a second chance and then my boyfriend good food poisoning. I would not recommend going here to anyone based on sanitation, food quality, prices and customer service. First off none of their food is actually appetizing, and their fried chicken was yellow? When we asked why it was yellow she said, "it was the sauce they used". However, my boyfriend ended up getting sick from it and I didnt because i didnt eat the chicken. Also the waitress tried to get us to leave really fast and was asking us for a $3 tip. anyways, im reporting this to the health inspection

the first thing i noticed when i walked in was how clean it was. As we were being seated I overheard a man telling someone up front how great it was and that he will be back tomorrow. At this point I was really excited. Our waitress was very friendly and worked very hard. multiple plate clearings and water fillings without even asking. they had a very large range of food to choice from including sushi and steak. lots of desserts and ice cream. to keep all of it that well maintained at dinner rush, they have to have a good team in there. will return again soon.
