Ive been coming here my whole life, back when it was still called Castas or whatever and the bathrooms still had those pull-down circular cloth hand dryers (which are super unsanitary now that I think about it omg they used to be my favourite as a kid wow), and its always the same relatively quiet atmosphere. Very similar to just your regular local diner, staff is friendly and concerned with making sure your experience is a good one. The crowd is usually older folks, what with the reasonably cheap prices and relatively wide selection of food... But the food can have a tendency to the greasy side. Thankfully staff make it seem easy to ask for a new meal if somethings wrong, versus being an angry customer demanding to see a manager. Has quiet music playing over the PA, has multi-stall bathrooms with wheelchair accessibility but it IS a little cramped. Has good coffee! Sometimes feels a little grimy but thats honestly just because of how old I know the establishment is. Definitely a good stop if youre looking for a quick, quiet bite to eat and want a nostalgic atmosphere from a casual diner.

A great, classic, local diner. This place offers great service, a clean atmosphere (though a bit dated with the pink and teal hues), and great food. Its similar to a coney with a more home-style menu and atmosphere. The food is well above par! I wouldnt suggest going here for a perfect steak or salmon fillet, but I also wouldnt fear ordering these items as they dont mess them up. Its not high end quality, but it is consistently good eats, whatever you choose. The ingredients are fresh, always, or theyll tell you theyre out (I appreciate not being served week old white-fish or veal). Its definitely a prime breakfast or dinner spot in the neighborhood, and they will serve you enough to make your stomach burst, so dont try to eat it all- unless youre famished! If you happen to be disappointed on your first visit, just look around at the obvious regulars who have been coming here for years and years. Thats always a good sign. I doubt you would be, but definitely try it again.

By far, the best food for the dollar in the area. I love the Southern Omelette and potatoes (hash browns)! Because it is so affordable, I am looking forward to trying out so many things on the menu. The next time I go in, Im going to try the Tuna Melt and the Chicken Noodle Soup because I saw a lady order it and it looked hearty and hot. Service is really nice and friendly, attentive, and quick to get the food out. Definitely on my list of places to bring my family when they come up from Louisiana.

Great place for breakfast. I had the eggs with bacon sausage and ham. On the side I added the raisin toast. Not your typical thin sliced toast, this is that thick cut chewy raisin toast with the glaze on the top end. Amazing. I think I ended up leaving a 30% tip because the prices were so low (and the service was good). Highly recommended!

Bread basket had rolls in a ziplock bag that appeared to be thawed from frozen. My wife and I did not eat our "meals". If you like canned greenbeans, and fries that are dripping in grease maybe you will like this. How can you mess up fried chicken? Told the manager that the food was inedible and she and waitress did not care.

Absolutely horrible my fries were dumped straight from fryer to my plate.ive never seen so much grease on food so disgusted! My sandwich was more lettuce and bread than anythig only got one tiny piece of meat. If I had wanted a salad Id ordered one smh me food went home to my dog and we went to McDonalds

If you like food poisoning, this is the place! The health dept apparently gives this guy a free pass year round. I was there to enjoy the woodward cruise, and instead got food poisoning from this place. Better off staying away from this place unless your the health dept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great food, really poor customer service! Not a smile on the bunch. I sat there eating my food as the two waitresses moaned over how they didnt get tips from the last two customers. No wonder you didnt get a tip lady, you sucked. If the service was better this place would be a "gold mined!"

Food was good, and even got some complimentary fries with my Hot dog. Only problem is I got food poisoning from either the Hot dog that I ordered or the Chili. Most likely wont be coming back, not that hard to make sure stuff is not old, and is heated up to the right temperature.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It wasnt our first choice but the restaurant where we wanted to go was closed. This is definitely more for the older crowd. My boyfriend had something wrong with his food and had to send it back.
