We got a glowing recommendation from a local, so we had to try Taste of Asia. Walked in just before lunchtime and it was pretty empty (on a Monday). This was a great decision because the dining room is quite small. After asking the server for their favorites, we ordered and there was really no wait! I got pad park gang and my husband ordered pad thai noodles . The menu said both were spicy, which i like, though there was not too much heat overall, especially in the noodles. Just enough to make my mouth warm, not enough that i needed to slow down, which was good because the food was SO AMAZING. Honestly, a rare treat where we didnt expect it. Prices were very reasonable, even cheap compared to some places on the island. Our server let us taste the Thai iced tea before we decided if we wanted it. I didnt get any, thinking it was too sweet, but my husband did. I wish had got it though because after diluting with ice, the sweetness turned out to be perfectly balanced. Off-peak hours worked for us, the tastiness of the food made me rethink all of my culinary decisions from the past three days, and we will definitely come back. Dont miss this place!

Worst customer service. Worst food and worst time wasters. I and my family including my 6 year old had waited for 2 full hours from 9PM to 11PM to get our food for just 3 people while the multiple men working at this take out said we are in line after 8 carry out order at the beginning. After 2 hours of grueling wait time in between which we checked on our order, finally we found that we were the last people to get served. We were fooled and make no mistake, the food was even worse, the chicken Tom Ka soup tasted like you know what comes out of your mouth after you have a bad indigestion. What a waste of money and time. I told my wife we are never getting Chinese food again. And guess what they claim to cook - Thai which is total bs for the Chinese basil food I got. The only taste okay was chicken spring roll. $55 wasted.

We were here on a very busy holiday weekend, the staff handled the rush very well, they communicated how long the wait would be and explained their individual cooking process for each order. Additionally they took down our phone number so we could enjoy the other activities in town while we waited and called us when our food was ready. It was refreshing for us to see something outside of the normal greasy spoon/American eatery in a tourist focused town. The food rivaled some of the best Thai food that we have had including the ability to bring the heat, extra extra extra spicy as requested, they did not disappoint! We will definitely visit on our future trips!

If you often eat Thai & Chinese food like I do, this place will not good for your taste, unless it is your first time to try Asian food. I ordered Crab cheese (Crab Rangoon), Pad Thai. 6Crab Rangoons are OK(even they used thick/cheap wraps), but the Shrimp Pad Thai was just plain, no taste at all. Just steam noodle & unmarinated shrimps w/few drops lemon juice, thats all I tasted! It did not worth $19.00 +tips(I ordered take out,did not know how it look & taste until got back to hotel! Otherwise, ... no tips). I make Crab Rangoon & Pad Thai taste way better than they did even I am not Chinese or Thai.

Loved this place!! Great food, staff was friendly, and we were able to go and walk around for a little bit while we waited instead of having to stay put. I got the pad thai and my husband got the pineapple friend rice and both were amazing. Little expensive and wasnt open when we went back for dinner later in the week, but it seems to be a family place in a tourist town so both are understandable.

Were driving the circle tour around lake michigan and stopped by this place since it was the only Thai place nearby. Was not disappointed. John served us and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic. Most Thai places make their curry mild since people cant handle hot food, not this place. Hot but incredibly delicious. Nothing but good things to say. Thanks John!

hard working guys at this place! if u arrive real late from the mackinac island and find yourself with no food and all restaurants closed... these guys are not afraid to keep going late into the night (like 2am) and make sure the hungry and tired souls are fed to their best possible. fresh, made to order food. hot and tasty.

The place is so good. The food tastes so good and fresh. The service was also good . Especially the guy John is so so friendly and has helped us so much in ordering good food. He was so patient beside so many people waitng for orders. Nice place over there !

I took my family there while we were on vacation last week and the food was amazing. The server was very nice and had a great attitude. Id recommend this resteraunt to any visitors that enjoy either Thai or Chinese cuisine.

Great food. Order 2 hours before you want to eat. Very quick service but they are the only ones open in town after 8pm with good food, so naturally the wait will be long. Absolutely worth the wait
