food is great. management and serving system is not, and they are losing some customers because of it. we were recently there on a low to medium busy sunday afternoon. waitresses and workers were constantly running back and forth, so the problem is not due to worker laziness. we were seated, but didnt receive waters for an entire 25 minutes. We placed an order for a couple beers at that time. then we waited another 20 minutes to get the drinks and place our dinner order. literally, 30 min after ordering, the waitress let us know that one of the meals was not available, so we switched to a different choice. we thought about leaving at this point, but we already invested an hour and a half, so we stuck it out. we finally received our meals at the exact 2 hour mark. we spent a lot of time with our shoulders shrugged, and we just couldnt ever seem to catch the attention of the waitresses as they flew back and forth. the preparation and the taste of the food was truly great, and the atmosphere is great. but we left feeling ignored a lot, and like the system is just designed inefficiently. we were sitting near 3 other tables, and they were having the same experience. a couple servers were actually bringing food and drinks out and asking customers what table they belonged to. one nearby table noted that one of the family owners was sitting a few tables away from us, having a few beers with a friend. it was upsetting to us that he could see the big delays going on, and he didnt jump up to help his staff out. and that right there is probably the root cause of the problem.

This restaurant was one of my favorite places to go, but as another reviewer said, its gone down hill fast. I drive from the howell/brighton area to go there, when i first started dining there the food was always fresh, hot, and delish...however today when i dined there that was not the case. The service was awful, it took her 10minutes before she even acknowledged us. And 50+minutes to get pork nachos, the portabella mushroom sandwich. All of which was not warm, and my chips in the nachos were extremely soggy. Clearly they sat for a long time before being brought out. The last few times i have gone the service was extremely slow and the food not warm or fresh, i was really hoping that when i went for lunch itd be a different experience this time but i was wrong. We told the waitress we were really disappointed in the food and lack of service, she said she would get the kitchen manager and he never came out to speak with us after we waited another 10 minutes. It makes me sad because this was one of my favorite places, but unfortunately after how terrible this past experience was i will not come back.

Had dinner with my wife last night. I wish I could say we enjoyed it more. We walked in to the host stand. The person at the stand surprised us by not greeting us, but whipping out his phone to do a quick text. Then he walked away. Never said a word to us! He came back after a bit and instead of greeting us, he spent a few minutes doing administrative work behind the desk. After about 5 min of standing there he finally said hello and put our name on the list. Our waitress took forever to get our drinks. Then failed to stop by and take a refill order. I finally went to the hostess stand to have her find the waitress because we had be left for so long. They brought our food, my wife asked for cheese for her pasta. The waitress forgot. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine. I wish we could say we would be coming back soon, but there are many others places that treat you better.

I am sorry to say that this restaurant has gone steeply downhill. I took my wife their for her birthday lunch. We ordered pork pulled Nachos which the menu described as having homemade chips and we ordered the fish tacos. The nachos ended up being low end grocery store chips, the pork was cold, and the sauce had clearly been pressed out of a frosting tube. If you took a tube of toothpaste and spread it over santitos nacho chips, this was the 14 dollar gourmet nachos. When I asked the waitress about the chips she said, she wouldnt lie to us about it, theses were store chips. I think a more professional server might have warned us about this before ordering. The fish taco portions were very small (two small corn tortillas) and the fish was undercooked in the breading. Just because portions are small does not make it gourmet. We used to like this place…too bad.

We had a truly terrible experience at Redbrick. We called ahead to try to make a reservation, and were told they take reservations only for groups of 6 or more. So we (two couples) went there at 6pm on Saturday, and were told we could put our name on a list and come back in 30 minutes. We went and had a drink elsewhere and came back in 30 minutes. Tables were given to others, we waited another 30 minutes, and then finally gave up and left to get a quick bite elsewhere so we would not miss our show at Encore Theatre at 8pm. To add insult to injury the hostess started to argue with us, saying we had been late (which was a lie, we were back in 30 minutes as she had instructed). We will never be back here after such terrible treatment!

Since the renovation the service has been terrible and the kitchen takes forever to get food out. Takes forever to flag the waitress down. They are rude, Mess up orders, Dont refill drinks or check on food, take forever to bring the check and dont bring the right drinks. Food is good no problem but the service is terrible. My whole family and friends wont go there anymore. I went this past week hoping it was better it was terrible. Told the manager and she said that there was nothing wrong. They have lost a costumer for life I am not picky but its out of control. I would not recommend the place for those reasons. I think the owner is nice so people look the other way about the understaffed place and all the issues.

We went for their new brunch today. Waitstaff was nice, but we waited a very long time, considering we were the only ones ordering in the restaurant. Apparently, there were problems with the ovens-this a problem shortly after they remodeled. Fix it, for goodness sake! The food finally arrived. It was warm, but mine, a ham and mushroom skillet, was tasteless and not integrated. Ive had much better across the street at the Riverview Cafe. I asked if they had fresh orange juice; they did not. Unacceptable in this day. They have good ideas, but do not execute it well. Very inconsistent, and a major disappointment.

I am a vegetarian and I was very happy to see they had quite a bit of selection. I ordered the Chickpea fritters, vegetarian sandwich, and the vegetable napolean. The chickpea fritters were about the best but there were only 3 fritters. Pretty small portion size. The vegetarian sandwich was just kind of blah. The bread seemed stale. The vegetable napolean was really lame. The service was not good either. The waiter seemed didnt seem to have any tables but he couldnt get away from us faster. Terrible service and terrible food. I cant see them staying in business very long.
