I will say... I have been to this IHOP plenty of times since I am from Detroit and party their often. First, I understand why they search people but I feel security needs to be more respectful and not profiling everyone! Its a shame you have to invade my privacy taking my personal items out of my purse. Second the level of professionalism from the workers is below acceptable. They were rude beyond believable measures. I feel customers should be aware of what you dont have before they are ordering. How does IHOP not have strawberry anything and expect us to still pay full price. One of my friends ask the manager will i get a discount since it wont have the filling. He says NO NO Baby girl I aint doing that. That is not a way to speak to customers. Then a worker because she did not have any management tags or anything to identify her as anything greater came over like is there a problem you seem to be giving them a hard time. We were like no we are just asking questions about what we can get since so many things are unavailable. We basically decided to leave before things got out of hand. I live in DC now and I come back to Detroit often. I dont appreciate people treating us that way at all. I can not stand horrible service so I will be telling people not to spend their money at that establishment. The one on FORD RD is so much better!

Do Not Go This IHOP! Service was Horrible. My girlfriend and i left the Detroit Greyhound Station at around 7am after a 10 hour long bus ride. We decide we wanted breakfast and what better place than Detroits IHOP right? Wrong! As soon as we walked in, there was a big security guard there guarding the entrance, and he patted us down like we were coming in there to rob the joint. Then, when we make it past him, we had to wait 5 minutes for a host to walk us to our table. As i looked around i could see that the restaurant was very poorly staffed, and by that i mean in numbers and quality. The few that were there looked like they hated their jobs and didnt want to be there and cared nothing about appearances. Finally we were seated. Then again we waited 15 minutes until we got a waitress. Mine you, there were only 4 customers in the place including myself and my girlfriend, so whats the holdup? The waitress was very young and apathetic and mumbled most of the time. We ate very quickly because the longer we stayed the more frustrating and unbearable the dining experience became. Then, as i gave the waitress my card to pay, she ask for my ID. What sit-down restaurant ever asks for ID with a debit card?! That was the final straw. This IHOP is pure trash and needs new management.

The food was fantastic. The waitress was very friendly and accomodating--also fantastic. However, when I went to pay my bill, I gave the manager my coupon of "buy-one-entree, get one" and he would not honor it. He said that since my second entree was only a half entree (two pancakes) it was not covered by the coupon and would not be free. I said to give me two more pancakes, then, so that it would now be a full entree and therefore, free. He said no. At this point, he would have said anything to avoid honoring the coupon, and even called the waitress over to berate in front of me and my guest, which was especially awkward since I had specifically asked the waitress of my order was covered by the coupon. I still have the coupon if anyone wants it. I will not be going back.

Better be sure when you get your food you go over it with your waiter before they leave your side. It was so simple I asked for cheese In my eggs I received my food when the waiter tossed it down and he walked off. I said whatever and looked at my eggs and seen no cheese. Once my waiter did not come back out after 15min I asked another waiter if she could grab my waiter or assist me she said thats not my area Ill get him 10min later he comes out and argues with me about the cheese saying the cook said he put cheese in it you will have to pay extra for even more cheese I get the manager and he backs the waiter and cook and says yes you will have to pay for cheese 2times my staff said they put it In!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! BE AWARE!!!

Worst restaurant ever!!! My family and I met there for my mothers birthday, we waited 40 minutes to be seated I had to ask the hostess if it was almost our turn because she kept seating other guest and we kept waiting for a while, after she checked her list I could tell she had crossed us off, probably by accident but she said she was going to get our table ready. We were finally seated and waited, and waited, and waited for a waitress but no one ever came, after 20 minutes of sitting at the table waiting for someone to take our order we decided to get up and leave and we will never ever go back!!! Wish I had read the reviews on here before I decided to go and waste my time!

I felt very safe here after reading the sign outside warning me that I will be searched for weapons. The nice man greeted us and said "let me make some space for you" even though the place was empty. A lovely woman ordering carryout let us know that the man tells that to everyone and that shes been waiting for a very long time for her food to be prepared. We exited the building to the parking lot where there was another man with a three-wheeled vehicle playing some bumpin music. He was dropping off his home girl to use the bathroom. Overall, it made for a exceptional Saturday night adventure and I would recommend this IHOP to everyone.

Arrived for breakfast about 10am staff was VERY RUDE....after waiting about 15mins to be seated....when I asked how much longer the wait would be?? Staff scolded me for asking and stated that they were having personal problems and we would just have to wait!! Well needless to say several others that were waiting left...Saying that they didnt mean to bother people on the job...Very NEGATIVE RESPONSE TO CONSUMERS...will go to the local coney island for breakfast in the future....Not worth the wait...find another place for breakfast... Where staff members dont hate their jobs and the customers...

I have been here 3 times the first time was a couple if years ago back during my high Schools prom the waitress was very rude at first I thought it was because I was young but I went again last year and the employees argued over who was taking tables who the wanted to sever what they was and was not going to do out loud they didnt care about the customers.. today, I came and my pancakes were undercooked my waitress was no where to be found I thought out of three years the Manger would be gone and the staff would be better but nope shes still there.. I will not ever step foot in here again..

Terrible service.when we walk in two of the servers were fighting with each other on who will be taking us because i guess we were a inconvenience to them.then i server mess up on our orders then i guess they ran out of the kind of crape i wanted so the cooks desided what crape to bring to me."really" i thought that was my choice.then the server forgot things we ordered.some things she luckily didnt even have on the bill.never ask us how are we.never got a refill on our coffees.im never going to thing ihop again.but hey they probably dont care
