On the morning of July 30, we had breakfast at The Pantry located on M59 & Gratiot. I was eating a "hand pressed" turkey sausage and discovered a large piece of paper in it. I lost my appetite and advised the waitress of the same. when the waitress returned she said the manager was going to take the sausage off the bill. ONLY THE SAUSAGE...let us speak to the manager. When the manager arrived she introduced herself as the owner "Lori", who then stated she removed my meal from the bill but everyone else had to pay for ther meals. They advised her that they expected to pay for their meals because they ate them. The owner then said the cook is human and makes mistakes. Yes I agree humans make mistakes but her words and tone was so condescending it was down right disrespectful. As an owner she handled that situation very poorly and it was clear she never wanted our business again. As I promised her I would spread the word of my experience and I encourage you to share this post. When you spend your money you should expect good food and service. Please dont waste your appetite and time at this place.

Long line when we got there but were seated quickly. Waited almost an hour for food, it tasted good when it finally arrived. Asked the manager if that was normal practice and she said it shouldnt take more than 30 minutes (as posted on their wall) - offered the excuse they were short handed. How is that the customers issue? Saw people seated after us served before us and our drinks were gone before food ever arrived - refills were at an extra charge even though we didnt get the drinks with our breakfast. When I told the manager I was unhappy with my experience and would not return she acted as though she did not care, a very insincere apology of "Im sorry" was offered. I will never eat there again!

Best breakfast food Ive ever had. Im pretty picky about breakfast food and normally dont care for a restaurants attempt at it, but I really like this place. Be aware though there might be a long wait, especially during certain times of the day (theyve had a sign in the entrance for years warning that their unique style of food takes time). Ill admit the waitresses can take more time then what youd expect with drinks and dish removal but its never been terrible. Overall, if you want to try some absolutely amazing, cooked-from-scratch style breakfast food you may have to be a little more patient than you would elsewhere.

Food is always excellent. I hate waiting for an extended period of time. I would give 5 stars to this place if they didnt cater to exaggerated groups of people! There was a party of 17! 17 people! Why?! Thats ridiculous! So a party of 3 or 4 people have to wait 45 mins to get a table because they allow banquet sized groups. Thats unfortunate. It puts stress on the wait staff, other customers, longer wait times for food....ugh! Food is excellent though. I never rate good restaurants high that dont know how to control their crowds.

A co-worker and I ate lunch here the other day. The atmosphere was nice, the waitress was courteous and on task, and the food was pretty good. I also saw the biggest pancake ever! I mean seriously...you could feed at least 3 people from this thing! The only thing I didnt too much care for was the au jus sauce for my french dip sandwich. It was just a little salty for my taste. Other than that, it was all good.

Horrible service...the manager and wait staff all seem to suffer from bad attitudes. Waited for our waitress to acknowledge us and watched her perform other menial tasks rather than take our drink and food orders. Not saying that race played an issue but it surely makes me wonder...ultimately walked out and took my $35 to Mama Vikis down the road.

Incredible breakfast selection, daily specials break away from the normal menu selection. If you stop by soon try the cinnamon crunch French toast, it is the perfect fall breakfast. The staff was friendly and this is a family owned business so it is a great choice if youre in the area or near the second location in Centerline MI.

Great place to meet in the morning. We have been having our last morning practice there for the last 4 years. GREAT FOOD AND EVEN BETTER SERVICE!!!! They open early for us so that the kids have time to eat, then head off to school. Thank you for all the great times. Thanks Again Richard & the LCN Swim team

Reserved the side room for a Sunday morning/afternoon gathering for 25 family members. Felicia and her crew did an outstanding job. The orders all went in together and came out warm and fresh,. Dont know how they do it but they are the best. Always great food and great wait staff. Thanks a lot.

After all the great posts I had to try this local joint out & plung into the exploration, of seeking out a rest me & my wife can claim as our "Spot". It was on a thurs night so it was steady and not overwhelming like it usually looks like from the outside, (which js a good thing).

Service is terrible. Been here probably 5 times because the food is good, but all five times the service has been terrible. The entire staff including the managers dont care. The managers are extremely rude and dont care at all. Will never come back to location on hall road again

Definitely a must for anyone looking for breakfast/lunch nothing short of fantastic. Slightly higher priced than most places in the area, but the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff more than make up for that. The pancakes are some of the best Ive ever had.

If youre hungry you cant go wrong with the three egg omelettes. They come with tons of food. You can choose two sides from: 3 pancakes, 2 pieces of toast, and American fries (hash browns). The wait staff is very friendly and fast. The food is well worth the wait.

If you get there early enough, no problems with waiting for food. Omelettes are fluffy like bread, but taste pretty good. Pancakes off the griddle were good. Would try the baked specials next time. It was a nice atmosphere and our waitress was pleasant.

Very overpriced. Crepes had a weird greenish gray coloring and we both thought they were horrible and sent them back. Pancakes were dry and very dense. Eggs and bacon were just ok. Service was below par.

Great diner that the locals love. Their American fries is both crispy and very soft and delicious. The place is very peaceful and casual place to get breakfast before work. Very busy at the weekends tho.

My husband and I had to wait at least 20 minutes to be seated the last time I went but the food here is spectacular. They have the best omelet anywhere so it is worth the wait.

Yummy! So so yummy! Large portions, so much to choose from! Clean and comfortable. I wish they were open late. Staff are friendly and quick with the coffee.
