Sadly, I kind of feel like many of these posts could be kinda true. I really hope the worst of these are completely exaggerated, as angry people tend to do. My personal experience with china moon is one of very fond memories. I began eating at china moon regularly in 1998, and they were the best chinese I had ever had, hands down. So much of my money went here, and never any regrets! Just a full and happy belly! However, I have recently had the dry chicken people have been complaining about... I have had the way too oily food: egg roll/rice. I have tasted the way too salty food too, but heres the truth: China Moon is still the best chinese in our area, so I continue to eat here while trying other places. Their food is still very well priced and generously portioned. I am surprised to read some people got food past 10, cuz I thought they closed the doors at 9pm sharp! I find that the bad food quality issues are sporadic and reoccurring. The norm is good food, but you can sometimes get stuck with what is probably just "half day old food, twice cooked." Four out of five meals I have here are like the old days that I remember, but it is that fifth meal that sends me straight to the bathroom. I always dine in now, because I think their carryout can be more iffy. If you want the best food from this place, go during peak hours, when everyone else is going so you can be sure yours is made fresh. Dont be a buzzer beater, ordering at quarter to 9, cuz thats when you get the leftover dinner rush food that never made it out of the chefs kitchen. Prior to 2015, I would have urged everyone to come from all over SE Michigan to eat this wonderful food, but for now... I just think its the best for 5 miles. They are still #1 locally, simply because none of their competition has yet outdone them. There are certain waitresses whose smiles I love to see, and the two brothers who run register are both humble and friendly. I do believe in the trusted staff who have worked here forever to still deliver the best chinese in the area, but a new passion has to ignite, and some choices must be made to stop being complacent. China Moon has earned every bit of their 5* reputation, and also their current criticism. I would 100% watch a Gordon Ramsey episode of this place, just to see whats really the matter sometimes. They have been so much better than they are now. I hope they revive their hunger for the kind of success that has carried them for so many years of prosperity.

This used to be my go to for Chinese food. Not only had it been rated number one for years it was close by and the food was great. Unfortunately the past year or so the experiences have gotten worse and worse. There food is hit or miss, the prices are expensive (I have a family of 7 so it costs us typically around $45 to get a carry out) and the worst part is the last 3 times weve eaten there at least 2 people in my house had gotten sick with diarrhea and stomach cramps. I work in the foods industry myself and if we choose to even go back and someone gets sick then the health department needs to get involved. Im super sad, youll never meet a nicer family, and I never eat Chinese without someones recommendation. Weve been loyal customers for 20 years now, it may be time for another recommendation.

My boyfriend and I searched online for a good Chinese restaurant and ran into China moon. We decided to go eat there since it was rated to have good food. When we got there as soon as we stepped inside the first door I could smell something funky, definitely wasnt the smell of food. When we entered through the second door the smell got worse, it smelled like a public restroom, & there werent many people there. I dont know if maybe they were having problems with their bathroom, but I hope it doesnt smell like that all the time. We ended up not eating there cause who can really eat with the smell of a porta potty in the room??

Me and my family have been coming here for years but after last night, were looking for a new Chinese restaurant. I ordered a carry out of almond chicken, white rice, egg roll, egg drop soup and 3 packs of the crispy noodles that go in the soup. The chicken was way over cooked, hard to chew and dry, not just one piece but every single piece. The egg roll tasted days old and the noodles for the soup were stale. Every single pack they gave us. The only thing good I got was the white rice, which I couldve made at home to save me the money and not have had that disgusting taste in my mouth. Truly a disappointment.

Have been going to China Moon since they opened in 1995. We moved away from the area 4 years ago, have noticed a change in the last couple years, quality of food not near as good as before. Friday ordered almond chickem, chicken was tough, overcooked, hardly any breading, and very small order. The Singapore noodles I ordered spicy, they had no flavor, were dry, and to top it off they had no pork or chicken, only small shrimps and vegetables and the service was horrible, also prices have really gone up. Long standing customer who will not be back.

They deserve absolutely no stars.. I went there yesterday worst Chinese food EVER! I will never return. Service horrible. I literally bought my food took it home, tasted it and threw it away. My boyfriends Sesame Chicken didnt not taste like Sesame Chicken. The dark sauce had no flavor, very bland. The shrimp fried rice had a burnt taste. There food was not cheap, the total did not match the menu price or the portion size at all. They couldnt even provide a receipt. Hard earned money down the drain.

Here in town on business. Stopped on the way back to my hotel from work and ordered carry out. I wish I had eaten it there so I could tell them in person how great everything was! The food was great...perhaps the best I have ever had. Each item ordered had its own distinctive taste...not like many Asian restaurants where the food all tastes the same. It was a very enjoyable meal. I will pass the word on to my associates who come to town for business! Thank you for a great meal!

China Moon was one of my favorite restaurants, but over the last few years there has been a big decline in food quality and customer service. I ordered an almond chicken and couldnt eat half of it because the chicken was tougher than Brock Lesnar! I am officially done with eating here, its a shame because the restaurant was one of the best. I hope that the owners read this and make changes, like not microwaving the chicken...make it fresh!

the service is excellent and friendly. the restaurant is clean. unfortunately the food we had was bland, also we ordered two different dishes: the general tso and sesame chicken, and they were both essentially chicken in the same brown sauce. the only difference was one had red pepper heat and the other had sesame seeds. the prices are good, so if youre not picky and just want some chinese i guess you could do worse.
