Mexicali is now under new management, by the same folks who run the delicious, amazing Taqueria San Francisco on Capital SW. Check out the new digs - its great! Food is good, a lot of overlap between the menu at Taqueria San Fran and here. Alcohol is served here. Im a vegetarian, and I really appreciate the vegetarian-friendly beans, rice, and variety of dishes that can be readily made meat-free. The chips and salsa, guacamole are terrific. I really like the enchiladas as well. Im not from Battle Creek originally. Im from the central valley of California, and there is some good, authentic Mexican food out there. Mexicali Restaurant and Taqueria San Francisco are, in my opinion, the best in the area by a stretch.

Ok where do I start. I know Mexican food and my friends this is not good Mexican food. All I can say is, it was trash on a cold plate. I took one bite of my taco and almost vomited in my mouth. Chips were over cooked. The pico de gallo was old and tasted nasty. Guacamoli was store bought. First of all, no self respecting Mexican restarant serves store bought, premade guacamoli. Also. I think my boss has food poisoning now. i could see your kitchen from where i was sitting and it was filthy. Clean up your act or close your business! Im calling the board of health so be ready.

Decided to start trying more Mexican restaurants around town, and I have to say this is a very, very good place to get some fresh, flavorful, and traditional Mexican cuisine! One of the best places in town, for sure. I am eating their nachos as I type this, and they are sooo good. Prices are affordable (and well worth the money) and the staff is very friendly! Beautiful decor inside the building. I absolutely love this place and I will definitely find myself coming back again and again and again!

Best Mexican restaurant around! Service was very nice and fast. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was amazing! Menu was easy to read with lots of recognizable options. Homemade all you can eat chips. THE BEST hot sauce, tastes like it was made with real peppers! Everything was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!

We used this place for our wedding back in 2013, amazing back then and now! I am just so sad that we moved out of town because nothing compares to the food there. We make sure we go every time we are in Battle Creek and sometimes we make a trip just for the food. The staff is great to us every time!!!!

I would give this place 12 stars. Hands down best Mexican restaurant in lower Michigan. Norma makes the best food, everything is fresh and homemade. Taco shells, chips n salsa, hot sauce, all properly done, nothing store bought. Never left disappointed or hungry. Highly recommend.

I have been coming here for over 22 years and I am ADDICTED to this food. The hot and mild salsas for the chips are the most unique and best salsas ever. I have never found anything even close to this taste. The food is authentic and I would recommend this to anyone.

This is one of those golden gems of Mexican food. The food is authentic, the wait staff is friendly, and management cares. If your looking for a good healthy meal option, (who isnt with todays trends) this place has that.

Eat here once to 5 or 6 times a week some time 2 times in a day like both thr #1 & #2 staff is awesome food is delicious. My husband never tried mexican thoughtbhe would not like it but i took him here and he loves it.

The rice was not fresh; it tasted as if it was reheated by microwave. The waitress almost kept begging us to order more and more food. They overpriced the food. I will not go there again. Very bad "Mexican" food.

The service and atmosphere was good. The food and value was pretty decent. I wished there was a sauce rack because it wasnt as spicy as Id liked. They called me senorita. That counts as something right?
