The wait times are long and online ordering does not work as described. Restaurant was messy. This experience was on a Friday at 8:15 PM in early March. There was no sporting event that day. I had an online order that was sent in 20 min before I got there. I walked past the very long line right up to the register. When I walked to register I had to flag down a worker to take care of my order which was weird. I felt like he did not want to talk to me and thought it odd that I had to work to get him to interact with me. The staff appeared to have a lack of urgency which only furthered my frustration. Blaze is supposed to fire your already made pizza from the online order right then. Problem is the pizzas had not been built yet. I waited another 30 minutes for them to finish food. I was thankful I had an online order since the young couple I walked in with had only made it partially through the line and had not ordered yet. There was one person rolling dough, one taking orders and building pies, one firing pies, one on register and 2 cutting and boxing. Most of the time I was there the pizza oven only had 3-5 pies in it. Seems like not enough people taking orders and oven was not running at full capacity. The restaurant had wrappers and other debris on the floor. It was generally looking unkempt. Tables were dirty. Someone had dropped their ranch on the floor and the staff handed them extra napkins to clean up the mess. No one got a mop while I was there to properly clean the mess. The most disappointing thing about this experience is the food is great. Crust is thin and has a great chewy crispy texture. The toppings available cover every corner of the pizza world. No limit on toppings! I feel like the product you get is a great fit for the price. I am part of a group that orders food regularly on Friday nights. I will advocate against this place in the future based on this experience. Food quality is what brought this to a 3 star. If the food was mediocre this would easily have been 2 stars.

SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS BEWARE: Im a long time Blaze customer and used drop by their location in Novi whenever I was in the area. I was beyond excited when not one but two opened up in Ann Arbor, which is considerably closer to me! HOWEVER. I brought a companion with me to the Eisenhower location earlier this week and was horrified. My companion has Celiac and absolutely cannot have gluten. Shes careful about ordering and that is the only thing that saved her from some serious problems here. She ordered a gluten free crust, which was fine. She asked which toppings were gluten-free. Which finishes. Which sauces. None of the servers could tell her. The one helping her found the stores nutritional information packet somewhere to check for my companion, but had no idea how to read it--she flat out told my companion that "all of the meats contained wheat except the meatballs"...when it was literally the opposite that was true. If my companion hadnt gotten put off by the servers obvious lack of knowledge and physically taken the nutrition guide from her to look it over herself, she would have been directed -by the Blaze staff- to end up with a pizza full of basically poison. If youre healthy as a horse, eat here at will. If you have special dietary needs or restrictions, BE CAREFUL and take anything you are told by this grossly undertrained staff with a grain of salt.

Briefly: great concept, good pizza, lots of topping options, good price, sllllllooooooowwwww service... My wife and I went here about a month ago. There were five people in front of us. Two of them got sick of waiting and left. And it still took more than 40 minutes to get through the line. Once our pizzas were in the oven, it was only another five minutes. But the wait up until then was ridiculous. While we were waiting, one employee came through the line saying, "Sorry about the wait," and handing out coupons for a free pizza on a future visit. So yesterday, because we had coupons, we decided to give it second chance. When we walked in, there was no line. There were, however, three online orders in front of us that they made while we stood waiting. I love the concept. Think of it as Chipotle but with pizza. But the concept only works if you have a streamlined process with enough people behind the counter, all working with a sense of urgency, to make it happen. At this point, I dont know if well be back unless we happen to drive by and see no one standing in line...

I went here this past Sunday with a couple friends around 5pm. There were only a few other people in there, there was no line. We got our pizzas fairly quickly. Customer service was not bad. One big complaint I have though is cleanliness. The area with the veggie toppings was very messy and there were at least two containers that had meat spilled into them, as a vegan, that really grosses me out, so I couldnt get the green peppers. And while I can overlook this, I know that for some vegans or vegetarians this kind of thing would be a deal breaker. The pizza was delicious. I didnt get the vegan cheese, I just went with no cheese, but I would assume the vegan cheese is probably contaminated with dairy cheese judging from the looks of the toppings area. It would be nice to have a restaurant that takes dietary preferences and potential allergies more seriously. I have a vegan daughter who I cant even get to go out to eat with me at most restaurants because of stuff like this, otherwise I would have brought my whole family back here because the pizza was so good.

The thin crust pizza was great, and since they make it in front of you, you get it exactly how you like it, the price is on par and fair for what you get. Everytime Ive gone in the employees have always been very nice and friendly and they make my pie like a Tru artist. The food and store itself are a solid 5 star, but I had to knock off one star because of a problem Ive had ordering with app twice now... As this place is pretty new it does get very busy during the lunch rush, and where I work you only get a 30 min lunch break, so we order and pay with the app, and the pizza is supposed to be pre made and waiting for you get there nefore they throw it in the oven. Well both times we show up at the time the app said they would be ready and they were not made yet. Then we had to wait about 20 mins before the pizza got made and was able to be fired. Hopefully they get the app thing sorted out, and this place will be extremely hard to beat for a lunch time meal!

The pizza is fantastic but the service is not! There was no one in line and yet it took five minutes for either of the employees behind the counter to acknowledge that I was even standing there. They did not smile and were not friendly. The choices for pizza are awesome and it tasted great. But I felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there. The guy running the oven was the same way. Never looked my way, never acknowledged me and never smiled. The bathroom was low on toilet paper and the trays were stacked high above the trash even though there was not a lot going on in the restaurant. There also were no half pizza boxes stacked in their normal place and when I asked the lady behind the counter for one she said Ill see if we have one even though I could see three stacks of them behind her on the counter. If service doesnt matter to you then eat here for pizza. However if you like friendly people and good food try the Blaze on Washtenaw.
