#39 on the Worcester Pizza Quest Next on the Worcester Pizza Quest is the Boynton. Please understand my review of the Boynton is only about the pizza since I am trying to find good pizza in Worcester. I fully understand they have a big menu and a bar. Called up and a friendly person answered the phone and patiently took our order. We ordered a half Cheese Lovers and Pepperoni pizza. The person who picked the up pizza said it was clean and treated in a friendly manner. I have had pizza from the Boynton before many years ago and heard they had made lots of changes since that time. I was looking forward to see if these changes were made for the better. Opened the box and the pizza was in the Worcester default Greek style. For some weird reason the pizza had more cheese on one side than another. It seemed as though the oven could have been off level and during the cooking process the cheese fell to one side. This falling to one side could not have happed on the drive to the house because it was placed on a level surface. Another reason why the cheese did not move during the drive back was the cheese was fully cooked maybe on the overcooked side. The first bite helped the assumption that cheese was a bit over cooked because of the firmness. The sauce was a bit better than most but not by much. Nothing stood out of the pizza, just your typical Worcester Greek style pizza. The Boynton is a well-known restaurant and bar in Worcester. The pizza at the Boynton is nothing special. Hard to make a review of something that is the basic Greek style pizza of the area. If you are in the area and want Greek pizza it would not hurt to go to the Boynton.

The decor was updated in the past 2 years. Nicely done but the place is always loud. Semi bar atmosphere and dining combo. Menu is huge. Loved almost all of the appetizers and desserts ( except I had no room for dessert). The spinach and artichoke pita dip was ok. It was properly warmed but the artichokes were huge chucks. I prefer them to blended well. The pita chips were tasty but I believe fried. I would have preferred them be baked its different type of chip. I do not like fried foods. The pizza Lar me was very good. Shrimp, scallop and crab on the pizza, with no sauce. It did have sliced tomatoes on it. It was very cheesy. Only complaint on this was that they did not slice the seafood. I would have preferred smaller pieces so that you are not forced to take such large bites. The seafood was plentiful. The BBQ chicken pizza was thick and very yummy. Lots of sauce (BBQ) and huge chucks of chicken. Great pizza. The place was packed for a Saturday at 2pm. Service was decent given the number of people. Prices on the higher side. I would come here more often If they were lower.

I went there in January on business travel and came down with confirmed food poisoning within 1.5 hours of eating my only meal in 10-11 hours before the symptoms. The food was mediocre at best, I had a flash fried seafood platter that was a little burned on the outside, a little rare on the inside and spent the whole night at the Marlborough emergency room. The restaurant has a cordial manager who informed me that they checked everything and a subsequent inspection by the health inspector showed nothing to be amiss, but I am here to tell you that I ate nothing, drank nothing during the day other than a can of diet coke that was not eaten by two other people (literally). The timeline fits. I will not be convinced it was not them. If you do not go to save yourself a possible case of food poisoning, do not go to save yourself from the mediocre food. There must be a better place to eat in Worchester, go find one and save yourself from ending up crouched over the toilet having vomiting and diahrrea at the same time which I did. It is not fun.

So I just ate at the boynton and I had high hopes when I first walked into the location as the host was nice. As we sat at the table for a few minutes waiting for our server he came up and asked me if I needed any drinks and I looked down for one second and as I said "ill take a" he was gone so I had to wait for him to come back just to complete my order he asked me for. As the lunch went on the entire time sean/Shawn showed little to no attention or respect as he was very rude. At the end of my lunch with my family that visited for the week Shawn/Sean first off didnt even give us our change he just disappeared into the back of the restraunt waiting for us to leave then as we went to leave he was talking s*** about us with another server because we didnt appreciate the way he "served" us. Terrible server if you come to visit and Sean/Shawn is your server I suggest moving to a different table or leaving its not worth your time.food was good.

Went on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend & we got right in. It was probably 6-6:30. It wasnt too crowded or too loud, our waitress was very friendly and wasnt overbearing when we told her wed be having a few drinks before ordering. They have a really great beer list that rotates every so often, they show them on their website in case youre easily overwhelmed by a long list of beers & want to be prepared. We got the spinach artichoke dip which was fabulous but I also highly recommend the Fried Pickles (and i dont even like pickles). I got the four cheese burger and mushrooms on top. The burger was cooked medium rare just like I asked, it was huge and just super tasty. You get fries AND onion rings on the side. I would give them two dollar signs ($$), and its all worth it. $55 for 2 burgers, an app, and 4 beers.

The Boynton is one of the few (in my opinion) stand out restaurants in Worcester. From the first moment you walk in to there and you can see why it is such a popular place. Its fancy, but it isnt overkill, which is good (it wasnt supposed to look like a wedding ceremony). Sadly, the result might be right in front of your face, and behind it possibly. The wait to actually sit down in this place can be LONG. It can be awful. However, the food is worth the wait on a reliable basis. The atmosphere can be a little hectic sometimes, as this is a popular place for college students on some nights (usually Holy Cross and WPI from what Ive noticed). On normal nights though, it has a perfect mix of a calm atmosphere and a good time atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this place (P.S. They are well known for their pizza).

I give the food 4 stars but the service gets only 1star!!! Took to long for the server to come great our table then it took him almost 10 min to get us drinks never brought us silverware had to wave down another server to get us silverware wasnt frendly or personable!! Took him another ten min to get us refills then never came back to check on us we had to get his attention for a doggie bag and check. An to be honest i think that he was like this with us cause we had 2 infant children and thought we wouldnt tip him accordingly!! But as a waitress myself i always tip more than 20%. Another thing about this place it has no baby changing table in the womens bathroom!! So MOMS not really baby friendly!!!! Other then that food was awesome love the homemade blue cheese dressing and fried Brussel sprouts.
