Had no desire to go to this bakery. My friends has Celiac, he wanted to try this place. First, they do have many quality gluten free options. However, they also have many delicious options that have gluten. I ordered a grilled cheese and a few treats. The sandwich was fine, no complaints, but nothing to rave about. The iced oatmeal raisin cookie, also fine. Why the five stars then? Oh, the brownie. The mint brownie is outstanding. My friends and I were debating what was in it, Nutella, fudge, Gods grace, not sure. But I will be going back next year and ordering all the brownies. All of them. All. Go, brownie, experience joy.

I grew up picking pints of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries at my grandfathers house on the vineyard in the summer and making the rounds with him to sell them to local businesses for a couple of dollars. The Scottish Bakehouse has been sourcing local ingredients since at least the 70s to my personal knowledge. So yeah they really were doing that before it was cool. Sure Im probably more than a little biased. But this place is great and deserving of more than 5 stars. The baked goods are terrific and there are a plethora of lunch and breakfast options. The warm sausage rolls are deadly delicious.

Delicious! Ultra locally sourced ingredients. IE, look around. Veggies from behind store. Meat and eggs from farm across the street. Food is so good but can be quite inconsistent, especially if you are ordering off-menu and/or in September when the entire island is exhausted. So be sure to be really clear what you want! I always get the Brazilian beef dish with no beets (good but I hate beets), or kraut or whatever, but extra black beans and double extra sauteed onions, darker than normal. Oh god so good

What a gem this place is...compared to most places on the island, this bakery/kitchen has so many great options for the Gluten-free types. Service was accommodating, knowledgeable, and warm, and the menu was reasonably priced. The employees here seem to have passion for what they do and bring joy to their customers. Definitely coming back to this place.

I super love this place. Its a year round place that caters to people of all different dietary needs. I find the gluten free options the best and most consistent on the island, by far! They also have local fare as often as they can, making new and interesting meals while supporting island farmers. This kind of business is what the world needs more of.

Excellent food and service. It appears everything is cooked to order which means that you get everything tasting perfect. Their bread is top notch and a little secret is their sausage rolls. They are the best & most delicious I have ever had. (Pro tip: Have them warm the Sausage Roll in their oven. You will not be disappointed)

Delectable vegan options! Just the treat after a long work day or just having tea with friends. Highly recommended! (although be warned, the Faken bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich is served with mayo.)
