The Host was great and a very nice person. The food was sub sub par. 8 oz. steak that was gristle and fried clams that I literally could not chew. Luke warm on both dishes. It was the end of a holiday weekend and they were a little busy, but why serve bad food food if thats all thats left? I am a local, maybe they did not think it mattered because a lot of people were from out of town? There is a ton of good eats in Gloucester, no need for me to ever go back here. Ill just get a sub at Supremes next time and sit at my picnic table. ps: The server was either new, in need of training, or burnt out. But we got a bad vibe all around and she ignored my plate sitting on the end of the table for a solid five minutes before asking me if I wanted the meal heated up (what does that mean?) pps The manager or whoever finally came out DID take the 2 meals off our bill. Which is good because we didnt eat more that a bite of either one. But he did charge us &6.50 for 2 ginger ales that we had both taken a literal sip out of. So $6.50 for lesson learned. ppps Who do they know in town where they can block a public side walk with chairs and table? Doesnt seem right or fair, but if you know someone in this town you can skirt the rules for sure.

Went summer 2016. Party of 4. No free soft-drink refills. Fried food was overcooked and otherwise just OK. Waiter was trying to be funny and "cool", but mainly seemed surly and kind of insulting. Overly solicitous in their requests to give them positive social media reviews. Otherwise, staff was friendly. Great location and "downtown Gloucester" touristy atmosphere, but there are numerous better options for food on Cape Ann -- youd could probably trust this place for cocktails and an appetizer though. Id give it two stars (maybe three) but am suspicious of their other ratings given their pushiness on the social media front.

This used to be a wonderful place years ago. It appears to be under new management. Last year we ate here the food was pretty decent but overpriced for the rustic atmosphere and quality. Wed been here many times before in past years and liked it. This year we thought wed give it another try only to be snubbed by the owner. We got there and were being seated with our sons when a party of 4 seemingly local people arrived. They got our 4 seater booth and we got crammed into a booth for 2. We wont eat here again.

We went to the Topside recently, and even though the restaurant was far from full, we waited a long time between courses. The waitress never offered us bread, and though we made it clear that I didnt want anything with onions in it, she failed to tell us the dish I ordered had onions in it. The food itself was OK, if skimpy on the fish portions. A $10 scallop appetizer came with just 5 small scallops. I was underwhelmed. Given the choices in Gloucester, we wont be back.

Over priced for small portions. The food is decent, but could be considered a small size for even a kids meal. They expect a couple bites of a sandwich to be considered a full size? They should be ashamed at what they dispense for those outrageous prices. I would not give them my business ever again.

Food was over priced and somewhat bland. Between our entire party, we got several entrees. Some were decent, and others were terrible. The chicken tenders we got for my daughter were tasteless. Our waitress was very nice, but she didnt come often enough to fill water/ etc.

I had the daily special of pan seared cod with roasted veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots & peppers) The cod was so so AH...MAY...ZING... By far the best cod I have ever had... I will definitely be back to try all the seafood specials...

This was a nice little stop we found exploring around Rockport in the nearby town of Gloucester. The staff were extremely pleasant and the food was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this for a nice little dinner with the family.

We have eaten here many times in the past 6 years the food is consistently great the staff and attention paid to us has always made us feel welcome. Reccomend you eat in the bar much better atmosphere.

My wife and I are here and loved it. We both had sirloin steak for dinner along with a few drinks. The food was fantastic and our server "Andrew" was great! I would definitely recommend this place.

Lots of fun. I went to a Kentucky Derby event at Topside Grill. The food was great the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I was transported to Kentucky for the evening.
