Somewhere between the middle of nowhere and the Mass/New Hampshire state line youll stumble across a slightly above average BBQ joint called Smokey Bones. Walking in it seemed to be a nice place to hang out have some beers and some good food. Before even being seated I was preparing myself to eat some average food with a capital A, thank god this was my mindset because we got exactly that. I ordered a piece of salmon which was a little overcooked but still good, all the sides and stuff we pretty good and the 22oz miller lites were pretty cheap I think like $5. The bar area was pretty cool but Ive never been in to getting drunk until 2am at a chain restaurant. As far as the service goes, our waitress was pretty awesome. She didnt give us any flack when we asked to split up the bills multiple ways. If you ever come here, and you get a decent waitress, order the doughnuts, yes, the doughnuts. It seems like an uncanny dessert which it is, but they fry the doughnuts and put them in a paper bag. When they get to your table they put the cinnamon and sugar in with the doughnuts and shake it vigorously. Luckily our waitress was stacked and basically left me wondering if I should slip her a few singles. Speaking before I could think I asked her to do that again for the other orders. With everyone at the table embarrassed for me she replied "we have to do that for every order" with a smile on her face. Now it could have just meant, Our establishment policy requires us to mix the doughnuts at the table to demonstrate zest and freshness to our patrons. OR, it could have meant, Let me toss around my huge rack in your face for about 10 seconds, which is the implication I was getting judging from all the other waitresses. I think everything is taken in good fun in this place due to the many boneisms on the walls, which are basically large posters with different smokey bones proverbs chalked with puns. If you are planning a casual night out with a different menu you will definitely leave here with various types of good feelings.

Worst chain restaurant experience Ive ever had. I went to Smokey Bones when they had a location in Newington, NH several years ago and the experience was aweful but I got a gift card and decided to see if anything had changed. My fiance and I drove an hour to Tygnsboro, MA to use our gift card and after a less than satisfying meal, we were told our gift card was not valid in the restaurant. My fiance explained to the manager that he had called the number on the back of the card a week ago and was told the card was though old, was still valid at Smokey Bones. Our server felt terrible and sent the manager to help with the situation. Instead of honoring our gift card or finding a way to make the matter right, he brushed it off stating he had seen several of these recently and there wasnt anything he could do. The food was terrible though we didnt complain, but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Never in my life have I encountered a manager with such disrespect and disregard for customer service. Do not eat here. You will be incredibly disapointed in the food (dry ribs, cafeteria mashed potatoes, horrible coleslaw, and the worst drinks) quality and price but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen.

We got seated fast and got our first round of drinks in a timely manner, however we sat for 20 minutes waiting for our waitress to take our food order. One member of our party asked for a glass of water when our food finally came out and it didnt show up until we were done eating. Food was fine, nothing special. The most annoying part of the experience on top of the slow service was the music. At about 9pm someone thought it was a good idea to start playing hip-hop music very loud. Even if that style of music made sense for the clientele (it didnt) this is a family restaurant NOT a nightclub. It was obvious by looking at the other guests that everyone came here to have conversations over drinks and dinner or to watch the game at the bar. Neither experience is enhanced by having questionable music choices played loudly with the volume being manually changed every 30 seconds. It was so annoying that we paid using the automated payment tablet and left 10 minutes after getting our food

My $40.00 bill was for two sodas served in small mason jar and a $33.00 sampler platter for two. It was awful. It came out on a grill type hibachi, four tiny ribs, four tiny chicken wings, tiny slice of steak and chicken breast and a sausage cut into pieces, four French fries, a raw onion, and four tiny raw peppers. The grill was far too large for the small quanity of food on it. Nothing was hot. Even the grill was not hot. Food appears to have been cooked awhile ago and kept warm with warming light. The four French fries were large, they were extremely greasy and hard on the inside..awful. The onions and peppers were raw. Who enjoys eating a chunk of raw onion?. I cant believe this is a chain restaurant. My daughter apologized over and over for suggesting to eat there as we left she said "Mom we should have sent that back". Well at least we know better than to go there again.

Wed May 24th my husband ordered Chipotle tenders with beans. The tenders came out Luke warm ..the beans were broth no beans. The bartender took them back ..my husband ordered french fries..they came out within a couple of minutes that looked like they had been sitting around for a couple of days and were cold. I ordered loaded nachos..I got a large dollip of runny sour cream, runny salsa....no onions , no hot peppers barely any cheese. Absolutely the worse experience we have ever had at a restaurant. The last time we were there was 6 months ago. The food was going downhill then, but we decided to give you another try. We did...bad choose. The Smokey Bones we go to is in Tyngsboro MA. The only good experience is that the bartender was very helpful.
