Today we went to Ball Square Cafe with friends for brunch. This was our 3rd visit there and their food never disappoints. We ordered Mexican Omelet, Asparagus and Prosciutto Eggs Benedict, Moroccan Eggs, Tijuana Omelet and Coconut Macaroon French Toast. They serve omelets and Moroccan Eggs with a complimentary choice of either Home Fries (grilled mashed) or Diced Potatoes and your choice of Toast or English Muffin; you can also choose from other side orders on the menu. All the items we ordered were absolutely delicious. Their portion size is quite big; every time I have been here, I could eat only half the food & get the rest packed for home. I also love their fresh squeezed orange juice and never forget to order that. If there anything that I dont like about this place, it is the wait time to get a table. The restaurant is not that big and the table setup is quite crowded. Try to go early or else you can end up waiting for atleast 45 min to 1 hour on a weekend. But no matter what, their food quality and service is good.

I need to go back. I personally was disappointed in my breakfast. I was so looking forward to this breakfast. I dont like my pancakes with the fruit cooked into them. I like the fruit on top. I got the tri-berry which was described on the menu as "pancakes topped with fruit". But the fruit was mixed in the pancakes. I asked the waitress about it and told her how it was described on the menu. She could care less that I didnt like what was brought to me. But she did bring me black berries. For me, I did not like the meal. But if you like the mushy fruit pancakes, it may have been good. I still give this place a high rating. My wifes french toast (tri-berry - topped) was great. Other foods brought out around me looked good. But mine.... I didnt even eat half of it. It was too watery.

Living in Somerville we have so many restaurant options for breakfast... many we can walk to from our house. But still, I would rather get in the car and drive to have breakfast at Ball Square Cafe! This is hands down my favorite breakfast place - ever! All of their food is spectacular (best eggs benedict around), the service is always top-notch, and the inside is very clean and comfortable. I dont know how they do it, but no matter what time of year you go, their fresh fruit is always wonderful with such an incredible assortment from mango, papaya, berries, grapes, melons, etc... (not just the old, cut-up melon that you often find with others "fresh fruit"). So if you are looking for a wonderful breakfast/lunch place, you wont be disappointment here!

5 stars well deserved. Im visiting from San Diego and just had the absolute BEST time at breakfast here today! The owner Micheal welcomed us with open arms... From the mini hot chocolate with homemade whip cream he served us while waiting in line, to the coconut macaroon French toast with raspberry drizzle, to the laughter inside... you can tell this place is filled with love, hard work, and respect for his loyal following of customers. The food is fresh and every single bite is unreal - hats off to the chef! 100% worth the wait. No wonder people stand in line in the cold (under heat lamps) to get inside. Its clean and you leave feeling like youre part of the family. Wish they had breakfast spots this awesome on the west coast...Cant wait to come back!

Came here for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and the food was even better. The space is small but portions are HUGE! Self-serve drinks were a little different than what Id encountered in similar settings, but the hot coffee before we were seated was incredibly welcome on a frigid winter day. If all that wasnt enough, I really appreciated the owner, Mike, coming out to personally greet everyone. He shook hands (actually, I think we got fist bumps) and even offered to take pictures of the patrons. You could just tell he loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in this establishment, as he should. I left with the warm-fuzzies and will definitely return!

Had some friends up from visiting and we were looking for s cute breakfast place to go, as there arent many in the area, but we loved it! All the produce in the omelets and fruit platter were so fresh and clean. The grilled mashed potatoes are definitely a signature item. The eggs in the omelets were a little on the oily side but it could have been all the cheese. The self-serve coffee and tea bar is great idea! Mike, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating but he can be a bit firm. The place is small so.. dont overstay your welcome because people are waiting to get in and hell let you know about it.. I will definitely be going back!

I love this place! My friends recommended it and I actually went here 5 times already and I still wanting to come back. I never had Egg-Benedict before and this restaurant treated me to an awesome experience with a mouth watery brunch. I ordered the Lobster Egg Benedict, and what I like about them is that they dont cheap-out on the Lobster meats. I like it so much that I actually came back the week after that and ordered the same thing and it was just as good as the first time. My friends ordered Omelette, pancakes, and waffles, the potions is huge, im telling you, if youre hungry for a good brunch or breakfast this is the place to go to.

A unique and delicious breakfast experience in Somerville. I came down to Tufts for graduation weekend and had breakfast at Ball Square Cafe with a friend of mine who suggested it. I can only say that it was a great suggestion and Im glad to have visited. The staff was nice and friendly. The owner, Mike, was very attentive and kind. He even offered us some fruit after our long wait, which was totally worth it. The food was fairly priced and really good. They dont lie when they say that their french toast is bomb. I suggest their iced coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Thanks for the experience, Mike!!

Food - What an extensive breakfast/brunch menu. Theres something for everybody, whether youre a meat-eater, vegetarian or vegan. Also, you can get coffee while you wait. Space - Is limited. Would not suggest it for groups larger than 5-6 during their busy hours. Wait time - They dont take reservations, so expect a wait time, say you visit for Saturday or Sunday brunch. And since the restaurant is small, you form a line on the street. But the hospitality of the owner (?) is so amazing you really dont mind the wait, he personally takes the time out to let you know when you can get a table!
