My husband and I had heard good things (especially regarding the fried clams) and decided to try it. I got the chicken sandwich which was disappointing. It had a charred (burnt) charcoal taste and was dry. I had also initially said I did not want anything to drink but, during my meal, changed my mind and thought I would order a coke when the waitress came by to see how everything was - she never did. It was not even busy (we arrived at 4:00 and there were only two other couples in the pub side). We also realized after we ordered that she never told us about the specials on the blackboard. My husband liked his fried clams very much. They were crisp and dry, not greasy. If it were not for my husband loving fried clams, I doubt I would give this place a second chance.

We visited around 5:30 on a Saturday so we knew it was going to be tough to find a spot either at the bar or get a table. We lucked out with a couple of spots at the back bar. The staff is super nice and very attentive. I ordered a cosmo and my husband got a mixed drink. They came out super fast and they were delicious. The problem was just with the food. Granted, we just ordered the crab cakes and clam chowder and not an entrée, but the app was not very good. Maybe the entrées are better but the crab cakes were so bad. No flavor. The clam chowder wasnt any better. No flavor at all. Really just all potatoes. I dont think there was a single clam in our bowl of clam chowder. I wouldnt really recommend this place; Im not sure what the draw is.

My husband & I had lunch at the Chieftain Pub yesterday. It was fantastic. We each had a different kind of burger both were cooked to perfection and delicious. The service was great, friendly and efficient. The first bite of my burger I was so happy because many times we are looking for a really good burger but so many places fall short or dont know who to cook it. This time was awesome, the meat was thick & juicy with great flavor, I substituted the sweet potato fries and they were so yummy, got that great sweet potato taste but not at all greasy. The atmosphere in the pub was really fun. I loved looking at the decor, the old pots and kettles and items hanging around. We will definitely go back.

This is a real Irish pub. Nothing fancy or elegant. Entertainment on weekends. Food is great. Good beer, the best Irish coffee we have tried in the area, just like that in Ireland. Expect a wait to eat on weekends unless you get there before 6. Place gets pretty crowded weekend nights. Good menu selection including the usual Irish specialties, steakschicken,fish, and daily blackboard specials. We have never had a bad meal here and it is my favorite place to eat.

Horrible place! The bucket of clams were filled with sand, very rude staff and manager, horrible customer service. Very dirty!!! This place makes Ruby Tuesdays look like a 5 star restaurant. These are trashy waitress waiting for thier 2 free beers at the end of thier shift. I will never fund this trashy, let go resturestaurant again!

Took my husband and son for steamers. Had a mixed drink and app - potato skins not cooked hard steamers good fish and chips tasted frozen and old not great service ... would not go back not even for the steamers not worth the money and floor dirty and sticky

I really didnt like the food. It used to tremendous. My dad ordered fried clams.. they werent even cooked.. he was discussed. They didnt even take them off the bill.. I really dont care to ever go back.. 22.00.. for lunch I snt even cheap..

Love the atmosphere, and beer selection. Not a great fan of the food. I keep going back cause its a great spot, and a cool pub, but Ive never had food that I really loved. Closed on Sundays too. Cant figure that out.

Once a year I visit the area from Florida to see my children and grandchildren. One of the stops I have to make is the Chieftain Pub for their excellent steamers.
