We had perhaps the worst dining experience in years at the Old Tyme Italian Cuisine in Lynn. We went with some italian friends and ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes for our food to come. After 40 minutes or so we asked our waiter what the delay was and he told us there was a very large party in the back and the kitchen would be working on our meals shortly. 40 minutes and they hadnt even started preparation!! After another 20 minutes we asked him again, and he said our food would be out shortly. He then disappeared from sight. Finally after another 20 minutes or so he appeared with our food. One of our orders was incorrect and the artichokes in my Italian friends dish were improperly prepared. There was no apology, no comment, just a bill. If we hadnt been with friends, we would have walked out at the 40 minute mark. Clearly, the kitchen cant keep up with a busy night and the staff makes no effort to let you know what is going on or to make things easier. Avoid this place.

What a life saver and a gem! Open on Sundays. My wife and I were in North Boston at hotel on a Sunday night to take an early flight out. Standard chain places with processed meals seemed to be the only choices, then we found Old Thyme. A little tricky to locate. Take directions. My wifes a vegetarian and we had baked tortelines. Huge portions, one meal easily fed us both and we were stuffed. It was all delicious and the price was fantastic. We were on a 12 day vacation in New England and this was by far the best meal for the money. I could not believe it. Nothing fancy, but the place was cozy and the staff very friendly. It seems that everything is hand prepared. It was a slow night when we were there and the food came out in 10 minutes.

Great local place, excellent prices, good drinks. Love their Artichoke Hearts Margherita (appetizer), their Veal Mamma Marie (veal, shrimp, scallops, asparagus, artichoke hearts), and their Bistecca Roverto (steak with eggplant, prosciutto, mozzarella, mushrooms, marsala sauce). We always have a great meal at a very reasonable price, and service has always been friendly and prompt. Although the neighborhood is "interesting" (i.e., not the greatest location) it is really nice to have a great and inexpensive Italian restaurant so close to home. Great restaurants seem to be few and far between in Lynn, but this one is definitely a keeper!

Old Tyme Italian Cuisine is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is fantastic and so isnt the wait staff. They all work together closely and makes for a good time. The food is out of this world! The menu is great, everything is freshly prepared, and the portions leave you with plenty for lunch the next day. Same goes with the wonderful take-out option they offer. The food is just as good and when I get there its ready for me to take. It is very simple to find the menu online and the customer service over the phone is exceptional. Whenever your in the area stop in, youll be glad you did!

A favorite neighborhood place at reasonable prices. The veal, the pasta, and the spaghetti meatballs or sausage are great for comfort food. We think that the cannoli are the best around.
