starting eating vegetarian food last year, ive been looking for restaurants with a good vegetarian menu and Udupi Bhavan has more than that! I will be sure to come back and try more. Ive seen samosas on TV last week on a food show. and they looked so delicious. so I come to this place and its really small but very classy. Good service, fast service and friendly crew. Stop by and try this place out. they have much more than samosas but the samosas I just finished eaten are the reason your reading this. Food appearance was great and the flavor was explosive. I loved them and if I had time I would turn around and get more. Anyone would love them.

Some students from my school recommend UB, so we went to the lunch buffet and it was great. It was a more than a regular buffet because waiters asked who wanted dosa and other appetizers and brought them to the table throughout the meal. The staff kindly answered our questions about the food, so it was a learning experience in addition to being delicious! UB is the only Southern Indian vegetarian style restaurant I know in the area, and Ill be coming back again. Ive been driving by it for years and glad I got to try it. Food ranged from mild to spicy, and the spicy was quite hot, which I like =) 5 star Google review!

I got impressed by the high rating so went two times thinking my first bad experience can happen by chance. The waiter height around 57 who took our order both times was not courteous and seems like his boss forcing him to do job. First time when we went ordered rava masala dosa and masala dosa. Dosa was ok but sambhar was very bad. Second time we ordered gobhi masala and one paneer dish. The paneer dish taste like 2$ frozen food and gobhi masala and paneer dish both had same curry. I found it expensive as well. I wont go here unless this is the last restaurant in world and will not recommend it to anyone.

Lovely place for great Indian vegetarian cuisine in that area. I can say this easily since I worked at Indian, Pakistani and Nepalese restaurants in Scotland, some of which serve only veg-food. To be able to taste different dishes, you should go for the buffet hours, and eat as much as you can. My wifes and my favourite has always been dosa, a South Indian fermented lentil and rice crêpe. Its just awesome. Nice and cosy ambience with only four or five tables for serving.

I hate the owner because he is a sycophant. He welcomes only people coming in large groups and never pays attention to new customers. I went here many times and every time the manager and server never cared about me and I had to call many times before ordering food. The food is okay. One time the chutney and dosa felt like left over food. I hate the manager and Im never going here ever again. A big middle finger to the manager. He is the first person on my hate list.

Visited this place for dinner on Sunday. Dining room is very small. Very few tables. Nothing to state about ambiance. Its basic. BUT food was really awesome. We opted for buffet and we were quite impressed with the selection they had on table. So many options to try. Except 2 or 3 dishes, we liked everything. In terms of taste, it was close to Authentic flavors you get in India. I would definitely visit this place again. Overall, a gem for vegetarians.

I gave it a 5 star, because its just good food. Restaurant is not fancy and doesnt have the best service. But the food is really good and its not over priced like other indian restaurants. Menu has a lots of options and i havent ordered any dish that i didnt like. Their paneer bhurji, Sambhar, chinese fried rice and munchurian is the best. Its also a 100% veg. restaurant, but still there are lots of options and there is something for everyone.

We were not seated for atleast 1 and a half hour, though the seats were unoccupied the waiter did not even spare the time to clean one and make people sit. there was a line of people waiting to be seated.Food absolutely average. The most frustrating thing was even after requesting a tons of time to clean one of the table the waiter just kept smiling and was showing that he was very busy without work. Never go there:(

Went to Udupi Bhavan on a weekend. Was very crowded and, after half hour, got a table. The food was excellent but service sucks big time. When we ran out of chutney and sambar and asked the waiter, he didnt bother to get it to us. So, after 10 mins, we asked couple of more waiters. Still no response as they were busy trying to get in new patrons instead of serving people like us who were already having dinner.

We love the place. Have been coming here during dinner for years and really like the variety of dosas and uthapams. Even Chana bhatura and chilly paneer is nice. Today we went for buffet and enjoyed all the dishes. Gobhi manchurian, gobhi parantha, plain daal, Mysore masala dosa and mirchi pakora were the best. I son wanted Cheese dosa and he was nice to get him one as part of the buffet.

Hands down, the best South Indian restaurant ever. If you like Indian food, youll love this place. If you dont, then this is the place that will change your mind. As a a vegetarian, Udupi has completely expanded my idea of the unbelievable things that you can do with veg-only food. The servers are amazing and have become good friends. You must go!

One of the worst indian restaurant here in Massachusetts. We ordered Mysore Royal Thali and Vegetable Biryani - the only good thing was vegetable cutlet and samosa rest all were worst. We went there seeing everyones appreciative review - sorry to say, but I do not think its worth eating here. I will never come back here again.

The place is small and a bit congested but the food is amazing!! Interestingly almost all food here is made by the African American owner of the place instead of ethnic indians. You wont know this by the taste of it and we were surprised when told about it! The buffet here has amazing options and definitely worth trying.

Im rating this strictly on their lunch buffet which is great. The menu is pretty standard so you dont want to go back to back, but its delicious and spicy. They have the most consistent food; other nearby lunch buffets can be good or bad, but not at Udupi. Food is great. Especially the green chilli, mint chutney.

Went for Dosa Night. Plain dosas are not good because of the oil they use. Noodle dosa, Paneer dosa was good and filling. The curry in masala dosa was nice too. Gulab Jamun was very bad. Good opportunity to try all variants of dosa. Try to substitute idli with vada. Idlis are not good.

I am a frequent shopper at the meat shop next door and I eat at Udupi Bhavan often. The quality is always at best. The owner is a very good man may Allah reward him...I highly recommend this establishment... all vegetable no meat, a great environment for vegans and vegetarians...

Self and wife went for lunch buffet on a working day. Good food with excellent mix of spices. All vegetarian - mix of chilli bajji, pakoda for appetiser, four types of vegetables, sambar, rasam, dahi vada, sweet and on top half sized masala Dosa. Sumptuous vegetarian treat!!!
