Yamatos is overpriced for what you are getting. The food is very generic and very disappointing. Service was slow and staff wasnt welcoming. Ordered some drinks: Mai tai and a virgin strawberry daiquiri. The daiquiri was too sweet and wasnt enjoyable. Avocado salad- I thought it was going to be avocado base where the avocados would be cut up with crab meat and masago and all that but nope. Literally the house salad with lettuce on the bottom and half an avocado sliced on top. Dont order this we were devastated when we received it. Salmon lover roll. The roll was very dry and the texture can be compared to tuna in a can. Hawaiian roll - decent but still nothing mind blowing. It was wrapped with crab meat and looked very appetizing. Beef teriyaki - the meat was tough and the accompaniments were not good. The fried siu Mai was mushy on the inside and I wasnt able to see or taste much of the shrimp. It came with vegetable tempura and that wasnt crispy and lacked in seasoning. It also came with rice and a small California roll. The plate was barely touched and definitely wasnt worth anything. Shrimp pad Thai - the sauce was overly sweet and didnt have peanuts! I was so angry because it not pad Thai without the crunchy nuts. Overall I will not be returning due to their disappointing food

I was looking forward to trying out a new sushi and Japanese restaurant in the area, and waited patiently for Yamato to open. They placed an ad in a local circular that looked like a great deal to check it out, indicating that they had a tasting menu for a really good price. However, when I got to the restaurant, I was told that, despite the fact that the advertisement did not have any information about this, the coupon for the tasting menu was only available certain hours of the day. After telling the manager that their ad and coupon did not state this, we were told there wasnt anything they could do about it. For a restaurant that is brand new, this is pretty much the absolute last thing that should be done. We shouldve been offered an equivalent meal for the price they had advertised at the very least. If theyd done this, we wouldve been happy to stay and have dinner; as it was, we went somewhere else, and told the manager we would not be returning. Since they werent interested in satisfying new customers, I can only expect that their lack of concern for advertising has to extend to the rest of their business. I do not recommend that people patronize a business that lies in their advertising, no matter how good the food might have been.

1) made reservation well ahead of time, yet had to wait 15 minutes for a new hibachi section because another group without reservation came couple minutes before our reserved time 2) show was OK but like most hibachi places, the food itself wasnt anything worthwhile 3) real killer was the cake presentation.. we dropped off a birthday cake earlier in the day, and while other patrons all had their surprise cake entry and birthday singing, after we went up to reception with candles asking for the cake to be delivered in a similar way, the cake in its packaging along with the unopened candles were brought to our table with no lights dimmed and obviously no surprise.. the waitress proceeded to open the packagings and light the candles in front of us, and then dimmed the lights and sang the birthday song. she tried... but obviously while she brought the items out and set them up, it was quite awkward and confusing as nobody knew what was going on or whom they were for; needless to say, the surprise cake was a disaster and the bday lady wanted none of it ever again

Exellent experience. Sushi fan, though we came for the steak dinner. Excellent flavors, tasty sake, very good service. Has a nice bar, TVs in several locations. Excellent place to bring your special someone or a group of friends. We started with hot sake, mushroom soup, and seaweed salad. Extremely tasty on all accounts. Followed with more sake, the Hibachi steak and salmon combo plate. Enough rice, noodles, sauteed veggies where my wife and I shared a serving and took some back to the room. Will visit again should I find myself in the Broxkton, Massachusetts area again.

If I could go negative I would. Made a reservation for 6pm. Didnt get seated until 6:30 another party came after and was seated before hand. Brought us to a clearly empty space. So what was the point of waiting. This was to celebrate my cousin birthday. Staff was rude. Still waiting on food. If it was not for him wanting to experience this and the fact we made the reservation since Thursday I wouldve left. Im pregnant, hungry and upset!!!!

Their restaurant is a breath of fresh air for the Brockton area. The staff are very welcoming and amusing. Especially Eva who makes sure she asks every last customer how their visit was. My son also loved the balloon sword she made for him!!!

I havent been here but Scott needs to stop talking... Raw fish is absolutely a part of Japanese food that also isnt for everyone.. and who the hell orders a cheeseburger and fries at a Japanese Steak House... you have no ground to speak on
