Deceptive promotion and rude staff/management. They had a 2-for-1 lobster meal promotion a while ago. They got the word out via a sticker coupon on my local newspaper. So we went down to check it out. The menu indicated the lobster meal was $15.95. I let the waitress know wed be using the coupon and we ordered 2 of them. When the bill came they charged us $19.95. I thought they just made a mistake and pointed it out to the waitress. She said the promotion is 2-for-1 "price" and that price is $19.95 even though its not indicated on the sticker coupon. I asked if they ever sold a single lobster meal for $19.95 and she said no. I asked if we got anything different than what was in the $15.95 meal and she said no. She said $19.95 is a great price and why are we complaining about it? Really? I asked to speak to a manager and the manager was even ruder and made the price stand at $19.95. This is definitely one of those "principle" things. I cant believe for $4 they would insist on a price which isnt advertised anywhere and is totally misleading as a 2-for-1 promotion. Very slimy way of doing business and extremely rude staff and management. I still go there when friends insist, but steer clear otherwise. Theyve certainly lost more from me than the $4 they got out of me with that deceptive promotion. Otherwise, the food is decent and they have some unique dishes. :)

After a couple of people enjoyed dinner at the Emerald Rose, I decided to take my family there for Mothers Day. The place is kid friendly and staff seemed to enjoy having little ones in. The food was really very good. My table started off with Irish Bread with the house butter sweetened with a hint of Maple. We had the Baked Haddock, Baked Lobster Pie, and two Pan seared Atlantic Salmon with Lobster Risotto. The latter dish was the star offering for sure. We were all very pleased with our dishes. They have an good number of taps. I ordered a "Black and Tan" (Guinness and Bass). I intend to try their late night menu with a few drinks soon. I would highly recommend the Emerald Rose

I have been going to the Emerald Rose for the past 20 years. Sometimes I eat in the restaurant, but mostly I eat at the bar. Or maybe Ill just stop by for a drink or two. My experiences at the Emerald Rose have always been outstanding. I like the roominess and cleanliness of the pub. The servers and bartenders are always helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous, without ever being pushy. And service is always prompt and meals are prepared to your wishes. It is also a great place to meet friends because of the large bar area. One of the best restaurants north of Boston!

wow are they busy on st patricks day, line out side waiting for them to open,,,,,,,big bar on one side a more reserved dining area on the other, they did a great job on st pats, seemed well staffed and had lots of music. lot of help who were running their butts off......food WAS GOOD, especially considering how busy they were, wife thought the haddock sandwich was excellent and the reuben was certainly very good...decor is attractive.....nice place, we were here a while ago but this is the first time on a st pats day and they handled everything well!!!!

Started off OK at the bar, Black n Tan, cup of Chili...but I was still hungry. Client next to me got something yummy with steak tips so I asked bartender for an order of that appetizer. 24minutes later, nothing. Asked for it to be packed ToGo. I needed to leave as it was 9:30pm! This afternoon I unpackaged my container to find...4 raw steak tips...BBQ sauce but no onion rings, onion strips nor any dipping sauces like the lady next to me. Cost to me $10.95. REALLY? {Prior chili and beer were great} Bartenders were great!@ kitchen, ahhhh nope!

Food is good, prices reasonable, generous portions, clean and tables are not on top of each other but the real standout tonight was Scott. We paid our check and than decided we wanted coffee and our waitress had already clocked out but asked Scott to take care of us. He was great , very nice, brought cream and sugar, checked on us a few times, re-filled up our mugs all for a $1.60 bill. We were VERY impressed.

Were not served because our Washington state licenses didnt look like Washington DC licenses. She wouldnt even look when we pointed out her mistake and tried to prove that our licenses were OBVIOUSLY the same as the Washington STATE sample license in the book. I mean, if you really dont want a tip, I wont force the issue. Maybe I should start looking more my age when Im in Boston. Ill take it as a compliment.

My finace and I just came from dinner at the Emerald Rose and we were blown away by the entire experience. The hostess, Deb, was warm and friendly and our waitress, Danielle, was outstanding. We were introduced to the manager, Gary, who was very helpful in planning our wedding dinner which is next week. We both came away from the resturant knowing we made the right decision.

Awesome place! Gluten-free menu! Top 10 pub-grub places I have been to. Each item was perfect and taken either a notch or even 2 above what would be acceptable. Had 10 for lunch and the apps and meals were delicious. Hats off to the chef. Staff were great, too. Beautiful decor, too. Irish pub comfy with open, wooden, airy structure.

This is a top notch restaurant that I highly recommend. The food is incredibly good and the staff is super friendly. The executive chef is always tweaking the menu and adding new and wonderful dishes. If you ate ever in the area, I highly recommend you dont pass this place up.

I had French Onion soup which was okay the Black and Blue Burger (which had no taste to it) they should try seasoning their Burger. I also got the last end of the fries they were all small. At times we thought our waiter went on break it took him so long to get us our food.

Good Iriah style pub. All the food is home made. Good atmosphere and polite staff. They do have free WiFi when it works, it seems to most its time broken. Good selection of beer and it is kept well. They will get a particular beer in if you request it. All round very good.

The food here is consistently good. It is moderately priced. They do not have a childrens menu. The Irish soda bread is moist and served with dinner at no extra charge. Desserts are decadent. This is a half eaten chocolate Irish whiskey brownie sundae.

Definitely an area favorite. Great beer selection and decent food. If you can get a table on St. Patricks day I would suggest you take it, they serve some fantastic corned beef. Im pretty sure thats the only time they have it on the menu too.

I visited The Rose today for lunch with a large group of people. Our waitress was great and happily accommodated all requests. I had a fresh Caesar salad topped with lobster. It was delicious. We had a fun relaxing lunch.
