Due to circumstances we decided this year to go out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving. We initially planned to go to Brewer’s Alley in Frederick as we had been there before for their Thanksgiving buffet. It had great food and great service. By chance we found out that Brian Boru’s was having a buffet. We had not been there in a while, but we had always enjoyed both the food and the service. We called and made reservations and were really looking forward to a great dinner. We also invited a friend of ours to join us and I raved how good the food was at Brian’s. The hostess seated us and our server introduced himself and took our drink orders. I thought I would have a glass of wine. I had forgotten my reading glasses and told him I would like a glass of the house shiraz. He was a little iffy about what wine they had and I said to just go ahead and choose as I could not read the wine list. I am not sure what it was, but it was not too bad. We went to the buffet. We had made reservations for 5:00 PM. I had not realized at the time that they were closing at 5:00, found this out later. The young man who had taken my reservation should have said something. I would have gladly come earlier. The reason I mention this is because there was not a whole lot to choose from on the buffet. I had started with some salad and fruit, but our guest had also taken a sampling of the fish, turkey, cauliflower, etc. My fiancée had some turkey, potatoes, etc. It started really going bad when our guest said the fish tasted like ammonia. When fish tastes like ammonia, it means it was not good before it was cooked. The rest of the meal went downhill from there. It was bland, not very good and the turkey was basically a turkey roll. The one good thing was the bread pudding. We also noticed the rest of the diners were not going to the buffet very much either. I was embarrassed because we had invited our friend to join us and it was a terrible experience. She was very sweet about it, but I was mortified. It is sad when a restaurant you used to like and enjoy cannot provide the quality it used to. Needless to say, we will never go back to Brian Boru’s again. I hope one day we can laugh about that year where we had the horrible Thanksgiving dinner, but I am not in a laughing mood right now. Right now we are hungry and very disappointed. We should have just gone to Wawa for the turkey bowl, which is a helluva lot better than what we got at Brian’s.

t Patricks day @ Brian Borus The good We spent five hours there on St Patricks day. Food was good and the music was great. Brendan Pelan ]did a wonderful job Our group consisted of at least 40 people. Lots of money spent on food and drinks. The bad It is not the first time(as we are Severna Park residents).that we have experienced this problem. Some of the bar staff are rude and unfriendly, they treat you like they are doing you a favor. They are not pleasant . We had friends come from South County and they were not pleased with the service. Being a busy day is not an. excuse as we have experienced the same attitude on a quiet evening during the week. The owner or manager needs to address this issue, if not Bye, Bye A true Irish bar it is not.

We waited 20 minutes to even get spoken to by our waitress. When I mentioned that, she was quite RUDE to me. She did not speak to us again until after the food arrived (yes we stayed... what were we thinking) I had to walk into the bar to get a glass of water because I was half way thru my meal and still waiting for one that I asked for earlier. When I asked the manager why someone could wait for 20 minutes in his restaurant and not get service- he was clueless. Thank you for a date night ruined Horrible service and being treated like garbage- just what I wanted to spend 60 bucks on tonight.

Very nice place for Irish food & atmosphere! Even though its about a half hour away we still go in at least once a month. They do have t.vs for sports & they always have Irish music playing at a low volume. Its never to loud to hear yourself think or to carry on a conversation with who your dining with. Even when they are busy they are always very friendly & they always seem to return at the right time for refills & such without hovering & bugging you every two minutes. Very good place to go to!!

This a a great bar and grill with amazing food and drinks. I have to say the service is always friendly. I was there last night (St Patricks Day) and our server was Mitch. He went above and beyond to make sure our table, and every other table in his section was taken care of. The restaurant was packed and super busy and he worked with a smile the whole time. I had a horrible day at my job and Mitchs kindness and wonderful service helped turn a bad day into a good evening. Thank you!

Food wasnt very good. The fish and chips tasted the same as frozen fish and chips from the grocery. The real problem, however, was with my drink. It came with about half a dozen ants floating on the top! Though I was given a new drink, no one at the table touched their drinks after that (I was still charged for mine). Additionally, the bathroom smelled so bad I was actually relieved I hadnt had much to drink and opted to hold it in until I got home.

the food is good and the wait is no worse than elsewhere, and i think the prices are reasonable for what theyre trying to be.. though nothing stands out as being exceptional. its mostly an older scene, comprised of middle-aged folks- not so good if youre younger and are looking for a local bar. severna park needs more restaurants like this though- less fast food- it beats driving to annapolis for good food.

This was our first visit here for a Sunday brunch. We came with 45 (!) people from a family reunion in Annapolis. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was fabulous. It was the first time any of us had ever seen Shepards pie on a brunch menu. Kids loved the waffles. Great sausage. Our token vegetarian even left happy (and full). Overall, a great experience.

Service cant be beat, food is really good. Atmosphere is nice as well. Their lunch menu is quite reasonable, dinner is more, however portions are much larger. After I wrote this, we went back to eat there again. What an opposite experience! Rude, unpleasant, be a long time before I go there again. United airlines and this place have a lot in common!
