This is the best Korean food Ive had in the Hampton Roads area. I have only been here once but definitely will be coming back to try more dishes. (Update, have been here many times now and 5 star rating still stands!) The spicy beef stew, yukgaejeong, was delicious. But not as spicy as it is in Korea but very tasty. The side dishes that come with it were fresh and a good variety. Kimchee was not too spicy, no fish taste, and not tangy, just the way I like it. I also ordered the fried mandu and they were good as well. Home made and served with a side of spicy red paste. Pics of my food are posted here.

We were very impressed when we tried Sorabol. I had driven by it many times only to resort to "old faithful" down the road my family has been going to since the 80s. Im not going to lie, the shopping center and locale has deterred me from trying Sorabol sooner. If you are having the same doubts I had and passing it by day after day do yourself and family a favor and eat there. Portions are bigger, the cuts of meat have been better so far, Kimchi is fresh and delicious, and best of all we eat for $10-15 cheaper than "old faithful." Very happy we tried them and definitely are returning customers.

Delicious experience. The wait staff are very friendly and offer to explain the menu or offer suggestions for the first timers. The decor is cozy and clean. All the menu items that Ive tried have been tasty and perfectly seasoned. All entrees come with an assortment of side dishes including kimchi, pickeld radish, and vegetables. The Mandu is especially delicious with the accompanying chili paste. I would recommend the Dolsot Bibimbap or the Doenjang jjigae for a taste of traditional Korean food.

Little Korea. I go here once every week or two. The first time I went here I was a little sketchy but the portions are pretty big for the price. It says its only for one person but you could share. I usually get the Dolsot Bibimbap and Spicy Pork or beef bulgogi. I share this with someone else. The food reminds me of Korea so much. The 2nd time I went there the lady remembered me. Ive tried other establishments on Warwick but the hospitality here cant compare.

Best place for authentic Korean food in Newport News. Ive done 18 trips to Korea throughout the country and this is by far the closest you can get to traditional Korean meals up and down the menu here in the States. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the best prices Ive found. Menu has a wide variety that will suite most tastes, their "sets" which easily feed two or more are a great value. Very family oriented. A must stop when in Newport News.

I dont know where these good reviews come from, the restaurant must have paid them to write positive reviews...I have been living in the U.S. for over 25 years and have never had such rude service. Charging me extra for refills because "I drink too much Iced Tea"? her words exactly, also when asking for additional sauce for the sushi she looked at me as if I was from another planet. Needless to say I will NEVER put a foot in that restaurant again.

If you want good food, DO NOT go here. Expensive for Korean food. And the waitress/owner was very rude to our company. She complained about the size of our order (a group size of 7) in Korean without realizing that I understood everything she had said! And she cursed at us under her breath after delivering the food! I was shocked! Never going back.

This truly authentic food is like what a mother would cook for you, always fresh and absolutely flavorful. For my wife who is Korean its as close as home gets for home cooked food. If you like spicy I recommend the kalbi jjim, if your in the mood for soup ugeoji galbi tang, its really hard to say cause emitting will dissapoint.

DELICIOUS! Best Korean restaurant on the peninsula! Bonchon dishes are amazing - especially the black beans! Pork belly and pork bulgogi is phenomenal. Theyve only got 1 server - the same lady is there all the time. Only negative is softdrinks come in cans only and there are no free refills.

I ordered what was supposed to be beef bulgogi. It seems to be some sort of bbq. It taste nothing like bulgogi Ive had before and I eat it quite often. I called to see if maybe I was given the wrong food and was told thats how they make their bulgogi. I will NOT be eating here ever again.

My absolute favorite Korean restaurant. Through the 15-20 times Ive been here over the last few years, Sorabol never fails to deliver delicious food and genuinely friendly service. For anyone in Newport News (and any CNU students like me) I definitely recommend trying it.

I went there tonight to eat with my family it said it was open until 930 pm. When i got there the door was locked and lights off. When I called the number a young girl voice said we are closed Wednesday but today is Friday 3, 2017

Cozy joint - very comfortable meal. The service is a occasionally slow and the kimchi isnt as sour as I would like, but - its homemade and quite tasty in the jjigae. Great place for a change of pace in dining options.

Good eats. I have traveled widely and eaten broadly. Being Scot-Irish I cannot attest if this is authentic Korean food BUT it is really good food at a reasonable price. The staff is always nice too.
