Service = 4/5 Quality/Freshness = 3.75/5 Value = 4/5 Atmosphere = 4.25/5 Overall for the 1st experience is above average. Service level was good in responding and offered a solution to maintain a positive dining experience. The menu was not over populated and not heavily complex. The website was helpful in solidifying me to step in and try the place out. I would like to come back for a Sunday Brunch Buffet. I give the atmosphere a higher rating because of how fitting the decor and the layout of the establishment (from outdoor seating, bar area, not heavy on the digital TV displays for sports viewing and low to no blasting volume of background music to hold a conversation level without needing to shout. The decor did lack some acoustical treatment since there were a lot of hard surfaces (not a single table cloth to be seen only the seating booths had soft material). In terms of food, I did not inquire as to where or who their supplier was (as it very hard to be convinced by anyone catching anything fresh when even the freshest comes in practically flash frozen from the boat just so that the fish can survive the trip back.. But if their supplier brings in live swimming fish and guts them in the kitchen, we will never know for sure. Preparation and presentation of the ordered items were acceptable and there wasnt anything that didnt taste worse than it looks. Im pleased with the experience which any and all that are in the food and food service industry would like to accomplish: having returning customers. If they ever hit 5 stars from me, they will know because I would bring my friends there as well.

I eat out quite often and have rarely posted a review. The food was so disappointing I felt compelled to express my opinion. Beautiful summer night, very nice spacious decor, but service was average. This was our first time at the restaurant, we were excited to try a new local seafood restaurant. We ordered the seafood sampler and the turkey sandwich from a local turkey farm. The turkey was pulled like bbq, seasoned with vinegar and mustard sauce and served cold, average at best. The seafood sampler was the kicker. Having lived outside the Baltimore area all my life I know what a good crab cake is. They advertised their crab cake as jumbo lump, the crab cake itself looked to be mostly all filler with about 3 lumps of crab meat on the top. One of the worse crab cakes Ive had in many years. The sampler came with fresh cod, it appeared there was no seasoning used in the cooking. It could have at least used tarter sauce, Tabasco, cocktail sauce, even a lemon wedge, something to give it a hint of flavor. However none came with it, not even lemon. Pathetic. The 3 shrimp were like typical tasteless, frozen shrimp. I was quite taken back by how bad the meal was, but even more surprised of the positive reviews that are posted. Obviously there are a lot of people that are not familiar with quality fresh seafood. I would not risk giving this place a second try. Guaranteed to be out of business within a year.

My husband and I went here for the first time on a Saturday for a late lunch early dinner. We should have read the previous reviews before coming.. The atmosphere was very inviting and a beachy feel. The owner greeted us which is very uncommon these days so that was nice. We ordered some raw oysters and crab dip for our appetizers which was okay. Most of the oysters looked great minus few blue points that looked like they got mangled and where not appetizing. My husband had the shrimp scampi which was underseasoned and the shrimp was not good at all. I had gotten the pork belly and fried oysters entree. It was definitely not a pork belly more of a pork chop with lots of fat on it so it was very chewy to say the least. I did not get the sides that was stated on the menu which was suppose to be the black bean / corn salsa and sweet potato tots instead they gave me spinach and red potato mash. All and all was tasteless. We had also gotten drinks luckily my husbands was easy beer. I had gotten one of their speciality drinks, first one I got wasnt fancy and had two black berries just floating around. The next time it had crushed raspberries and huge thing of rosemary for a garnish. So theres no consistency. We may try them just for lunch but highly doubtful after the first experience. Who knows maybe their catch of the day is the way to go.

Wanted to share my experience with Hudson Coastal tonight. Our waitress was awesome and the wine was good. But other then that, not sure what people rave about so much. The marmalade butter on cheese bread was weird, tasted like butter with some marmalade mixed into it in pieces. The wreckfish that was on special today came out dry and the lemon butter didnt help. The scallops were not well cleaned and thus crunchy. The desserts were good, but as they were brought out, the manager (we assume, tall gentleman in a navy shirt with fish) came up to us and told us that "there is a large party waiting for your table but we dont mean to rush you or anything". Then what was that? Seems like the party was notified that they were going to get the tables including ours because they just stared at us this whole time. It was weird because we assumed they would want to put the tables together that were next to ours as the one that was one table over were also finishing, but then they proceeded to seat new people at the table next to us, so that was confusing. So no need to mention that we felt very rushed and it didnt feel very good considering that we ordered appetizer, salad, Main course and dessert (I.e. Paying customers) and not just sat there with one drink each. It was not a good experience at all so we will not be returning unfortunately.

Went there for the 1st time late Saturday night and instantly noticed there werent a lot of people there. Thats usually a tell-tale sign for us, but we still had to eat lol. The staff there - from hostess to bartender- were very nice. Unfortunately, the food was nothing to write home about. The calamari was decent, but definitely needed to have the grease drained from it another 3 minutes. I ordered a seafood sampler and my wife the shrimp scampi. Most of the food was underwhelming and under seasoned. The best part of the meal was actually bought out as a consequence of committing one of my extremely no-nos when dining out. That is: dont give me a substitute for something I should have gotten without asking me first! I understand things run out, but if you put it on yourself to just assume what Id like as a substitute, then youre saying you dont care about what I want. Needless to say, the mashed potatoes they substituted for the sweet potato tots I should have received were pretty gross (and under seasoned like the rest of the meal). However, the potato salad with bacon, which I asked for AFTER I made mention that the mashed potatoes were not what I should have received (in which the bartender kindly said theyd run out), was pretty damn good. Anything with bacon usually is lol.

Our experience was .... meh. Nothing special. Our waiter was good, she was very friendly and personable. We ordered a glass of wine...the Geyser Peak it was terrible, dont know if it was a freshness issue or just a bad wine, either way she graciously took it back and had the manager take it off the check and suggested another wine. We ordered appetizers, calamari, crab dip and a dozen oysters, there was a miscommunication on which oysters we ordered and the cost of them, but this was quickly rectified by the manager. The oysters had a bunch of broken shell pieces in them, not what youd expect from an experienced shucker, so my guess is this person on that night may not have been experienced at shucking oysters. It would appear that this is type of place that is created when venture capitalist decide they want to open a restaurant. Just everything about the place was vanilla/bland. Not bad, just not good, I just didnt feel like we got any value.
