Went there today, 8/10/2014, for lunch after church for the very first time. We were treated to EXCELLENT customer service. The gentleman who seated us (I think he was the manager) asked what type of table we preferred because we have small children. We chose a booth and he seated us in the corner away from the buffet. Some people would not like this, but we were happy because our girls are a little rambunctious (even in Sunday dresses) and this way they couldnt bother any one else. Our waitress was always right there refilling our water and taking away dishes, asking if we needed anything, but not being bothersome at all. The food choices were AMAZING. Prime rib, bbq chicken, ham roast, whole MD crabs, crawfish, octopus salad, oysters on the half-shell, boiled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, and thats before you ever get to the back of the restaurant where the Asian dishes, Sushi bar and Hibachi are located. There was something for all of us to to enjoy - pizza, chicken nuggets, fried fish, french fries for our little girls. We do have some complaints about preparation. Some of the sushi rolls had a "fishy" taste to them, as did the crab rangoon (odd, as they should not have fish in them) which were not prepared as I have had at other Asian restaurants. The cooked sushi rolls were a bit dry and the stuffed shrimp did not have much flavor (they LOOKED wonderful!). Some of the regular dishes - General Tsos, sweet and sour - were a bit tough and may have been on the bar a while. All in all though, there was so much to choose from that if you didn t like something, you just went back to try something else - which we DID! The bacon wrapped chicken was awesome. The salmon in some kind of sauce was delicious - I usually find salmon a bit "fishy" but this was really good. There was more variety of sushi rolls than I have ever seen on a Sushi bar. The line at the Hibachi bar was so long we did not try it, but it must be good if so many people were willing to wait. I found the dumplings to be good, but not stuffed with the norm. It had beef and something green inside. Still, tasty. The coconut shrimp was awesome. I even tried the pizza and it was thick and yeasty and my daughters loved it. We went today because our church just announced, after 2 years, they are moving their monthly birthday celebration lunches from Golden Corral (which we love) to Flaming Grill & Buffet. Nothing against Golden Corral, they just wanted a change. We liked it and we will be going back for the birthday lunches, but our favorite Asian buffet with Sushi bar is Chef Lin on Jefferson Pike, just for pure freshness of the sushi and overall food quality. We may change our mind after future visits to Flaming Grill, though. No coupons, $10.99 per adult and the kids were discounted. $35+, including tax, for all four of us with only one soda purchased.

I use to go their alot but it seems that when a person goes by themselves you dont get the same service that you normally would for a bigger table. When i go to leave they are right on me to guve me a bill and get that tip but do not take care of you while your their. Their is a young man that works their named Kevin that is so good at what he does and give everyone good service. Resently i was their and they had Crab legs all you can eat and the women wouldnt get me the crackers that you crack the legs with or a refill for my drink Nothing! She wouldnt even respond to me when i talked to her. When i asked her if i could have a cup of butter...no response..then i said did you hear what i said and she ignored me. I ask the reception girl if she understood me and she said butter in in Buffet! I said thats not what i asked. Then i asked for my bill.... then she understood and was very clear and understood everything i said. She said i will take the money and i said no i will and then i talked to the manager. I WILL NOT BE BACK. Horrible service. When i go out i tip very well but not her!

We go as a family a lot on the weekends for dinner. For the most part the food is fresh and brought out often. Not many Chinese buffet you go to in the Frederick Hagerstown area that have fresh food. We go out to Chinese buffets often. And this is our main favorite. They do a good job of keeping in clean and neat. My only two issues is the fruit bar has the worst fruit. A few selections have been good. But there are times when we would like to have some fresh fruit and it is non edible. Being so green no one can eat it. My second issue is the raw oysters on the half shell always were fresh and had a nice brite colors. The last couple months they are so bad were afraid we are going to get sick eating them!!! They are not brite fresh looking oysters anymore. They are brown gooey looking oysters. I was told by other knowledgeable customers that they are no longer fresh shucked anymore. That they have been shocked and left out to the air to deteriorate. That is a no no for oysters. Please Flaming Grill fix this problem you have a great buffet.

This place is good if youre in the mood for endless buffets and a good variety of Asian food. They must have 10-12 different buffets including soup, appetizers, entrees, fruit dessert, ice cream bars - and they even have steamed hard crabs on the buffet. I didnt try thosr so I dont know how good they were but they offered them. They also have stations for sushi and stir fry that they prepare to order. My niece loves this place so I indulged her for lunch - but for me it was way too much food for lunch. It would be great for dinner except no liquor, not even wine or beer. I tried a few things and most were pretty good, not great. But pretty good. Id try it again for dinner if you could at least get a glass of wine or something. I will say this - its an incredible value at like $8 or $9 for lunch. I am not sure if this is the price for dinner or not. I guess if you have kids its great because its reasonably priced and the sheer quantity and variety of foods mesmerizes them.

INCREDIBLE BUFFET! I frequently buy sushi from numerous restaurants, but the sushi buffet here had a wide variety and it was full of quality fish and not mostly rice. As for the hibachi grill, loads to choose from and the chefs cook to your liking. The buffet was loaded with not only whole MD blue crabs, and whole baby octopus, but the oysters were brought out fresh every few minutes. So much food to choose from with all having unique tastes. The staff was very attentive and courteous. I didnt feel I had to stay and eat and eat to get my monies worth. For $9 after coupon for the dinner buffet, I was content after a few plates of sushi, oysters, crabs and stir fry. There was a guy there for a few hours just eating crabs and the management and staff didnt mind at all. UNHEARD OF! Going back again and again if they keep the quality up.
