First off, lets get the location right. It shows Hibachi as being next to the Lotte Shopping plaza (THAT place, I would give 5 stars). Hibachi is actually in the K-Mart shopping area, next to Babies-R-us. Understanding that a place might have an "off day" I only give a restaurant a review only after eating there three times...That way I can give a fair enough review with some reasons why Im giving it the ratings it received. The upside of Hibachi is that they have a mongolian-esque BBQ, that actually produces a decent meal. The cooks are great and the food seems to be fresh enough. Another upside of Hibachi is that the buffet is HUGE. In fact, its larger than any non-chain buffet that Ive been too. That, unfortunately, is also the biggest problem. The buffet is so large, a lot of the items that get piled on the buffet ends up getting cold...To the point that it could potentially be a health issue. Again, its not that the food tastes bad; in point of fact, the food tastes decent, but the fact that the food isnt changed out or kept hot is a serious concern. Service there is pretty mediocre. The wait staff are pretty sullen and act like indentured servants. On one occasion, I had to get up, walk across the restaurant, and interrupt the waitresses, who decided that the conversation they were having was a lot more important that tending to the customers. Again, Im not someone who believes that you need to be kissing my backside when Im at your restaurant, but I expect people who are hired to do a job to do it when theyre on the clock. For the price, theres better and more enjoyable places to spend your time.

Ive come to this buffet quite a few times, and I have to say that this buffet borders between a 4 star and 3.5 star rating. So probably something along the lines of 3.75 star rating (If that can even be consider a legitimate rating....lol). In my opinion this establishment is one of the better Asian style buffets in the area, closest to me. A few things that Ive happened to notice since Ive started coming to this place are that: 1.) A few of the regular food items changed in taste and size (e.g. the MD crab cakes use to be bigger and they werent as spicy). 2.) Some of the food items arent always fresh (You can sometimes tell because the food item looks so dry). 3.) Now they have a sign which states if you leave I certain amount of leftover food they will charge you for it (Now I dont know about you guys, but that is the first I have ever seen something like that). Nonetheless, this place still offers a legitimate amount of food items that I feel most people will like, the sushi they have is good and its a respectable variety, and they have a hibachi chef to whip up your hibachi style meal based on the items you select. If you are ever feeling like being a glutton for a day and youre in the mood for some chinese, then this just might be the place to satisfy you (I know it does when Im feeling that way....lol).

This place was excellent. The service was great. The buffet seems to go on and on. I was surprised at how many choices they had of things to eat. This is the first buffet where they allow you to really get what you want. There was some salmon on display at the buffet and I started asking questions, one of the servers overheard me asking the workers behind the buffet stand about the fish and how it looks a little undercooked. She turned to me and said sir, you can have them cook it anyway you like, just explain it to them. So I told them I like it thoroughly cooked and they got some fish out the back and grilled it right in front of me. Excellent service. Ive recommended a lot of people to this restaurant for lunch. Ive been to this establishment 4 times so far and I absolutely love it. It is very inexpensive for the amount of food that you can potentially get. Ive uploaded photos with this review so you can see how packed my plate was, and I ate two of them. There is no where in chantilly where you can get all that phone for $10.00. I would recommend everyone in the Chantilly, VA and surrounding areas go and give them place a try, i guarantee you that you will not be sorry.

A moderately priced all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. There is a fair amount of food choices to choose from that range from sushi (cooked and raw) to fully cooked dishes. It isnt Michelin Star level but for us normal people it is quite good if you know what is good to eat. I particularly like their California rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and their eels. A few of their items that they have as staples are also worthy to check out. For the amount of money you spend at Wegmans or upscale supermarket for sushi, youre better off taking that money and spending it here. Youll definitely stretch your dollar father, and you have soups, dessert, and fruits to boot. Sure they will make some money off you from the beverage but for that kind of price, its not too bad. They have a staple of soups but there are some soups that are on a rotating basis, which are more geared for the Chinese palate. They may look weird or smell funny but they quite authentic when these items are made available. They are rare so if you are lucky to see them available, grab yourself a bowl and try a small sample. You just might like it.

I dont write reviews very often, but after my service today I just had to. I came here with a rather large group (12 people) so that might play into this review as well. The food seemed decent enough, Im not a huge Chinese or Japanese food fan. Most of the people in my group seemed to really enjoy the food. I really liked the chicken, and the ham, and the ribs. My problem came when the check came around, I did not know that they were already putting in a 12% tip. I ended up tipping another 12 percent, I usually tip a lot more, but the service wasnt that great. It was hard to understand the waitresses, never really got to know one in particular because they kept switching. because of the language barrier, I ended up double tipping. Im not upset about the money, Im just upset that I felt rushed into signing it, and ended up tipping more than I was planning. Once again, my situation might be a little different, and we still had a good time together, but it just wasnt worth 4 or 5 stars to me.

Ill give it 0 stars if possible. Fist, this restaurant is really tricky and does things without your permission. The price isnt shown and drinks have extra fees but the food tastes great. So we were just eating until we were full and we were about to pay the bill when the waitress came and told us how much we needed to pay. Not only was she raising her voice exceptionally but she was also really impatient and starting yelling at us in a matter of minutes. Everyone became really tense and finally we got everything sorted out despite the terrible service. We tipped her ( out of 7 people) 1.17$ and it was a tip she deserved. On the way home I took another look at the recite and not only was it expensive at 60$ for me and 2 kids but TIPS WERE ALREADY PAID without me knowing. 12% of tips was paid to the terrible waitress and that was probably the reason she was so impatient since she already knew we would have to pay a good tip to her anyway. I will never go back there again.
