Do not order food from this place. There is no customer service and you will be waiting forever for delivery. Called after an Hour and 30 minr of our purchase to find out that our food would be delivered in about 10 mins. 10 Mins later I called to find out where it was and the guy told me it would be there very shortly. He said the delivery driver got a flat tire and would be there in a few mins. I told him I was very unhappy with his reasons and asked him what he is gong to do about our cold food. His next excuse was that I ordered online and the internet could have been slow. I explained to him "No I am sorry but I received a confirmation email saying that you received my order." Then asked him to cancel my order and reimburse my credit card for the amount. He said I need to call the company to cancel and after I asked him what company he could not come up with an answer. The food here may be very delicious or could be horrible but all I know is that their customer service and expedition is the worst I have ever had to encounter. Lets just say I ended up eating a turkey burger and veggies!! I you would like speedy service or someone who wants you to be happy, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

I didnt even get my food. I ordered food online at 11:45am. Figuring that it would take 45 minutes to an hour because it is Friday and lunch time, I had no problem waiting. Then, 12:45 pm rolls around and no food. I called to see if the food was on its way and am told driver already left. 1:45, still no food, just as I try to call again, the driver pulls up. I go to pay the driver, he has no bills smaller than 20s and I have nothing smaller than 20s, mind you I placed the order at 11:45am. By then I am hungry and dont want to deal so I refuse the food because I dont want to wait for him to go and get change. I called the restaurant and said thanks but no thanks, it is now 2pm and the driver didnt have change. I was offered the food for free...no thanks, didnt want cold soup, and now 2 our old sushi. Wont be ordering or going again...BTW former loyal customer.

I cant speak for the sushi, but if you come in for the lunch specials the prices cant be beat! I believe the prices are as follows: 1 side (rice or lo mein) and 1 entree - $5.45 1 side and 2 entrees - $6.45 1 side and 3 entrees - $7.45 add a fountain drink for $0.95 Now, these entrees come from a buffet thing they have set up on the counter, but its all made fresh every day and is pretty standard chinese fare. I doubt anyone can be dissapointed with this food, but dont expect to be wowed. Also, you get a lot of lo mein and entree, really more than one person should eat. There is also a decentl looking sushi bar and some specials that include miso soup, but I havent tried that. Also you can order normal Chinese food and they will cook it to order, you dont have to do the lunch bar. Overall, this place is pretty great!

When I first ordered from this restaurant the delivery was on time and the food was great. The only complaint I had was the delivery person was very rude and wanted me to meet them outside their office building so he didnt have to get out of the car. When I disagreed, he came inside and lectured me on the inconvenience of ordering their tea. Taking this as a one time incident, I (along with a coworker) ordered from them again (you know what they say, fool me once....). This time they were over an hour late AND when we called we were put directly through their voicemail. We couldnt even leave a message because their Voicemail is full! If you are willing to sacrifice your sanity for good food then this is the place for you.

Worst ordering experience of my life. Placed an order online at 6:40 PM. At 8:00 PM the food was not here, I called to ask what the status was and was told the food would be here in a couple of minutes. 20 minutes later the food still was not here. I called again multiple times and kept getting placed on hold. I ended up asking them to cancel my order and reimburse my credit card. They did not know how to do this and I ended up having to dispute the charge on my credit card because I was still charged and the food never came. I urge anyone who reads this to NEVER order food from the Shanghai Tokyo Cafe. It truly was a terrible experience for a simple Chinese Food order.

I ordered here only because the food is decent and fairly priced.. but the kid who answers to take orders who also makes the sushi is SO rude every time I call, I have stopped all future orders (work and personal) because he is that awful. Find a new employee Shanghai and maybe you will get more business. I will not be treated like that and I will gladly take my business to a respectful business.

THIS PLACE IS CLOSED DOWN!!!! DO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER! THE ONLINE ORDERING IS STILL ACTIVE AND ACCEPTING CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. AFTER 2 HOURS AND NO FOOD WE DROVE THERE BECAUSE OUR CALLS WERE GOING TO A VOICEMAIL THAT WAS FULL. THEY ARE CLOSED DOWN. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE NEEDED TO CALL OUR BANK TO DISPUTE THE CHARGES AND THAT THE WEBSITE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SHUTDOWN!

I like this place. DONT get "real" sushi with real fish. I only ever get the avacado roll, shrimp tempura, and sweet potato because the fish doesnt taste fresh and tastes really fishy. I really like the Chinese during lunch. Its set up like Panda Express and is cheap and tastes about the same. Some people dont like it, but I like standard greasy Chinese so I do.

Id only eat here if I absolutely had to... out of convenience. Maybe this family is from New York and not used to Smiling or Customer Service. The young boy cashier looks miserable. Bad sushi. Just go to Columbia mall food court to grab that. I like the basic rice, broccoli and shrimp and the cheap prices however.

Friendly/efficient staff, prepared to order [except for the cafeteria], & sushi was good. Restaurant/toilet clean. My Mainland Japanese wife likes their food. Her standards are very high, so this statement is not lightly given. Staff/cooks appear to be other than Japanese so food is less than authentic but tasty.

The food ranges from decent to good (albeit you can only really get 2 things e.g. noodles , protein, vegetable pick 2) However the biggest problem is they consistently mess up orders disregard allergies or basic requests even bringing a the wrong menu item and youll be lucky if they care enough to fix it.

Reopened and all new! Super good. Mostly just sells bowls similar to Chipotle. Choose your base (rice/noodle), protein, toppings, and sauce. Also has GREAT sushi bowls. Also also, the only good bubble tea around! (Though you have to call ahead if you want boba as they dont make it often)

I enjoyed the food we ordered. Some of the items were not prepared the way we asked, (dumplings were fried, not steamed) but over all I was happy with the experience. Portion size was pretty big, will have plenty of leftovers.
