Pei Wei is sort of a hit or miss for me. I see the place as a upscale Noodle & Co. with an Asian twist. There are mainly classics on the menu like Edamame, egg rolls, Orange Peel Chicken, Noodle dishes, and so forth. So I wondered where the fusion went. What I realized is that if you are looking for Asian but cant choose from the multitude of style/countries then Pei Wei is where you go. Pei Wei pretty much have the most popular dishes from all of Southeast Asia to Mainland Asian to Island Asia. Moving on to the food... and this is where Ive been not so pleased. The food has been sub par in the flavor area the last several times Ive visited. Ive tried a variety from the menu and Im never quite satisfied. Its like going to Qdoba when you really want Chipotle. Its okay and it works but the taste and general over tone of the food just doesnt do it. For instance, I am a huge fan of anything peanut noodle and the Blazing Bangkok Peanut Noodle was simply not peanuty enough. The Thai Chile part of it seems to have disappeared. While it did make my nose run I miss that sweat you get from eating spicier foods! Service was outstanding though, the staff was awesome and deserves kudos! Normally when you walk in to these types of establishments you give your order to an unhappy person who takes it with less than enthusiasm then a turtle going to sleep. Not the case the last time I visited. The cashier/order taker was so pleasant I gave an extra rating star for them and the staff. The person who brought my food was just as equally cheerful and helpful. If this review was about the staff only they would have gotten 5 stars. The place is clean and is similar in setup to many of your fast food restaurant that encourages you to sit and eat. I wouldnt be surprised if I found out that Noodle & Co is the same company. All in all I cant say I enjoyed the food as much as I wanted to (even from two locations in two different states) but then again Im pickier when it comes to Asian foods. I want it to taste like mom made it... so take this review with a grain of salt but I still cant say enough about how great the service staff was at the Columbia location!

VEGETARIANS BEWARE. Pei wei uses the same oil for both vegetarian food and Non vegetarian food. They reuse the oil used frying non vegetarian food to cook any vegetarian food also. Not only that, if you dont eat a particular meat also, there is no guarantee that the oil used for cooking your food doesnt contain the residue of any meat fried with that oil. The oil also is reused umpteen times without any regard to the effect or quality of the oil. They should stop advertising "Vegetarian" when obviously the food served is bound to contain the "Non Vegetarian" residue. May be they should add a disclaimer that "Oil used for cooking may contain Non vegetarian residue". It was shocking to see the way the oil was again and again used multiple times and disheartening to know that even a quality restaurant does this kind of thing. They can atleast use different oil for Vegetarian orders - by giving a bowl of oil separately with every plate they get ready for cooking. Hope they will change it and remain the quality restaurant.

Think casual fast here: you order at the counter, get your own drink and refills and they bring the food to you: family and friends yes, date - not so much! Food is fresh and good and served hot right from the wok, but lacking in veggies if you dont go the vegetarian route. Also not particularly healthy as everything is pretty much fried. that said come here all the time and recommend with the caveats above. Also it can get real busy so be prepared to wait in line, but they do assign tables to people in lune when really busy and only take orders at the rate people are seated so youre not standing around with a tray. Finally having been there at closing and watched them wiping the walls throughout the restaurant and scrub behind the grills I have a high level of confidence in the cleanliness of the place, something I normally try not to think about when eating out but is really a plus at this place.

This is the place to go if your stomach craves for some spicy Asian food, your mom warns you not to eat at cheap unclean eateries and your wallet doesnt let these two be on the same page! In short, this place serves quite inexpensive yet clean, healthy and tasty food. We had the Korean Spicy Tofu and Spicy Pei Wei veggies. Turns out Korean spicy is good amount of spicy but the other ones are only named that way. I am definitely coming back the next time I am bored of cooking.

My wife and I regularly order take out from Pei Wei and enjoy the variety and quality of the menu. However, take their time estimates with a grain of salt. We have often been left waiting 15 minutes beyond the estimated time. On one occasion we were left waiting for 30 minutes beyond when they said the food would be ready. I have never eaten in the restarant, so cannot comment on the quality of sit down service.

Nice atmosphere, fast service and good value but.... why is their tofu so nasty?? Its not even real tofu, its some kind of a pressed and dyed loaf substance. Their coconut curry was unrecognizable as anything even vaguely Thai. People, lets face it, there are SO many better and more authentic Asian restaurants around Columbia without having to resort to this uninspired corporate fare.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki with vegetables/fried rice and crab wantons. It was delicious! The restaurant was clean and orderly. The prices are low and portions were generous. As for the service, my waitress "Jennifer" was very polite, friendly, efficient, and made sure I had all I needed by checking on me throughout my stay. So I will return to Pei Wei of Colombia, Md!!

Its a healthy-ish takeout or quick meal option, but the food is not that great in my opinion, and especially for take-out theres usually a lot of rice and not that much chicken or vegetables in the main dishes. The flavors are good - I especially like the lettuce wraps and the thai dynamite chicken. Their sushi is not bad, but dont expect to get traditional sushi.

Normally I love Pei Wei, their food is great. Today I ordered online and the soonest time was an hour out. I came in at my pick up time and had to wait another 10 mins for my food. Someone asked how long it would take to add to their order and they said 20 min. Therefore if I ordered an hour in advance there is no reason I should have to wait longer.

I used to love going here. Now portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. They arent consistent at all either. Last time we went as a group, 2 of us got the same thing. One got a large portion and got 7 chunks of meat, the other got a small and got 9 chunks of meat. Very annoying to pay more and get less food.
