We like the pizza here, but the staff are hit and miss. I ordered online to try to save time and when I arrived to pick my pizza up, there were no customers, and nobody working on any orders. One woman was standing at the register looking at papers and I asked her if I could pick up my order. She had no idea what I was taking about and then found the orders sitting waiting to be filled. She kept doing the paperwork she had been working on and waited for someone else to come out to make them instead. Then the guy made the pizzas wrong even though the order was written down in a list of ingredients with no special requests. I waited another 20 minutes to finally get the pizzas. Talk about the opposite of what I expected from online advance ordering. I wish there were another location nearby so I could get the same food from different staff.

Make-your-own pizza in the assembly-line style of fast-casual pioneered by Chipotle. There are other chains that do the same (such as Blaze Pizza and Pie Five), but Mod Pizza has a unique offering -- add as many toppings as you want for the same price, possibly heaped so high you have to eat your pizza with a knife and fork. And the toppings are good quality too, with a good variety in each category. Mod shows they understand proper pizza assembly as well, allowing toppings under the cheese (such as pesto, greens, olive oil) and light toppings at the very end (after baking). Theres multiple kinds of seasoning, a good dozen kinds of meat, multiple sources of spicy heat if youre inclined, a good variety of vegetables... its delicious.

Food is always delicious. The salads are soooo worth it--theyre HUGE. Prices are reasonable, especially considering you can get whatever toppings you want at the set price. Took away 1 star because it seems like theres always that one employee there who is rude. The girl at the register today (Zipporah) was EXTREMELY and exceptionally rude. Walked away from customers waiting to pay without saying a word (no Ill be right with you, be right back, sorry for the wait, nothing), and barely said a word while checking us out. I paid with my card and she walked away while I was signing my receipt...so I had to wait AGAIN to get my freaking drink cup. Horrible customer service.

Finally! Good pizza at (or, very near to) the mall! If you are at the Columbia Mall and craving pizza, you can do better than the (sadly) typical, overpriced premium (but not really premium) pizza in the food court. Or you can walk out the back Sears entrance and take a ~3-min walk over to Mod. Its on the ground floor of the big new apartment building they just finished. Heres the deal: Not cheap (just like the food court pizza) but it is DELICIOUS. You build your own. They are priced by size, and toppings are unlimited. Try this place next time you are at the mall. Its worth the walk.

Unfortunately to start this review, the lady who helped me, Vicky, was not the nicest person. She started out seeming to be friendly but once I started picking my toppings, she was clearly annoyed with me. I wasnt being complicated or anything. I did ask what certain things were, I didnt realize they were labeled. The way the labels are angled made them difficult for me to see at my height. Still she was visibly annoyed with me and made me feel like I should stop asking for the toppings I wanted. That being said the rest of the staff seemed really nice and the food was delicious.

Yes, twas a yum pizza. Such yum. However, with having one helluva tank tummy that can handle many foods in all shapes, colors and sizes, this pizza declared war..and my tumtum lost. Be prepared to grace the toilet seat with your presence for a long time. Beware, work lunchers! Unless you dont mind being paid to sit on the pot at work. I would have this pizza again and again...in the safety of my home. Its too good to pass up because of G.I. issues....so, YOLO and bombs away, pizza lovers.

Fun new pizza place that lets you build your own pizza. The 11" thin crust is a base for your own creation, you choose the sauce (5 options), the cheese (6 options), the meat (8 options), veggies (20 options), and then the toppings (7 options). Any or all of these for the same price! Gluten free crust is available as well as a smaller option of the regular crust coming in at 6". If youre not in the mood for pizza all of those topping options can be put into a salad instead.

Its an open concept fast casual restaurant. The operation is shockingly small, and you can see everything they are doing, which makes sense since you custom make your own food. The service has always been fast and friendly. The ingredients really are premium, and it is obviously very fresh. The decor has a nice metallic/industrial feel. Its relatively expensive, but the food is good and surprisingly filling. Therefore, the money is definitely worth it.

Affordable build your own pizza place. From what I can tell there is no limit to the toppings and no extra charge either. You can choose from specialties on their board or make your own. Last time I was there I chose a specialty then heavily modified it to my liking. The employee was extremely prudent with me as I took my time deciding which of the endless toppings I would have. Everything tastes so fresh and the thin crust brick oven flavor is perfect.

Its okay but they use the same pizza cutter on every pizza or dessert! Pretty disgusting if you ask me. Dont want my pizza to have cinnamon taste or pork! Should have designated cutters for dessert, meats (separate cutters for chicken beef and pork) , and vegetarin! Or else i would give this a 4.5.

This might literally be the greatest pizza shop in maryland. I am afraid that I may be addicted because the pizza is just so delicious, and customer service is amazing. Just when I thought Id given up on looking for good pizza in Columbia, mod pizza was there to save the day.

Never returning. Used to be good but now theyve dropped the quality of ingredients. No flavor, cheap nasty canned olives. Couldnt even taste the pepperoni. Basically a nicely toasted dough with salty topping. They even removed all the good ingredients off the menu. Lame.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the option to make absolutely whatever pizza you want is a lot of fun. And the quality of the pizza and toppings is excellent. Definitely our favorite quick-fire brick oven pizza place my boyfriend and I have tried.

Its about $8.50 for a personal pizza with as many fresh toppings as you want. Choose your base, toppings (lots), and sauce drizzle then they toss it in the oven. Staff is friendly and accommodating of special orders.

Great pizza, but the wait can be a bit long for carry out. I also watched customers get their pizza before I did and they came in after me. Frustrating when youve already waited a while for your food.

Mod is my favorite customizable pizza place. For about $8.50, you get a pizza with unlimited toppings, and the pizza is cooked in a real oven rather than a conveyer belt toaster. Great value.
