My best friend (a currently pregnant foodie) ate lunch at Bon Fresco this past Saturday and was so blown away by her sandwich (mozzarella + tomato) that she took me there for dinner that Saturday night! We shared: 1. Brie sandwich: my version of melted heaven (in my humble opinion the best sandwich on the menu) 2. Tuna Picante sandwich: super light, fresh, & zesty 3. Tomato soup: hearty and zippy, really woke my tongue up 4. Mushroom soup: light, fresh, featuring delicate and tender mushrooms After our meal, I ended up buying 2 more sandwiches to take home to share with my fiancé on Sunday: 1. Chicken Picante sandwich: deliciously balanced, featuring yummy peppers 2. Venice sandwich: better than your average Italian sub/sandwich Needless to day, I am getting hungry just thinking about Bon Fresco... Please note that Gerald (the owner) takes exceptional pride in his food, featuring fresh, high quality ingredients (I wonder who his supplier is... because the amount of brie alone in my sandwich would cost way more than $6.50, if I were to purchase it on my own). Gerald also bakes his own bread, which I swear he infuses with magical ingredients (his bread does make a huge difference in how delicious the sandwiches are)! I would eat there once, maybe twice, a week if I lived closer... and at just $6.50 a sandwich, I’d be a fool not to!

This is one fantastic restaurant. I dont even know where to start. Okay, Ill start with the fresh bread that is baked at the restaurant pretty much all day every day. What wonderful bread. Just bought a big loaf of Challah bread today. All the sandwiches are made with this fresh bread, and very fresh, wonderful ingredients. No assembly line assembly here. Everyday there is two kinds of fresh homemade soup to choose from. Made only from the freshest ingredients. They are all wonderful. And you get a pint of soup and a hugh (and I mean hugh) roll for only $4. And if you are lucky enough to get there just as the bread is coming out the oven you will be in heaven. But it doesnt stop there, there are a variety of salads. You chose the fresh greens and then choose various toppings to go with it. You will not believe the choices. I love this place. The owner, Gerald, is so friendly and has told me that he wants to make everyones day a little better, and he does. He is a wonderful chef. All the employees are wonderful. This is my new lunch place and they see me almost everyday. I just cant stay away from this place. Try it, I promise you will love it tool

Seriously good stuff. Everything is so fresh and tasty that I even ate it before I could take a picture! When I walked in there was a huge mound of fresh zucchini cut into strips like they were strips of steak. The cook was grilling every single piece individually, just a few at a time so they came out perfectly. The restaurant is family-owned and operated, clean and comfortably lit. The prices are similar to Panera but the food is all fresher and, in my opinion, has more flavour! Do yourself a favour, add a soup to your order. Their lentil soup is as good as my own mothers. Pick up a carry-out menu so your office can order for lunch! Theyre open until 7 or 8 if youre working late, Ill be keeping that in mind. They cater too, and for as fresh as their food is Ill bet you could make a great impression on clients if you took advantage of their catering. They offer everything for catering thats on their own menu, which impressed me. I get sad when I have a favourite item and the restaurant wont serve it when they cater. :)

Love this hidden gem! Its a small space a pretty busy during lunch hours but well worth the wait. Bread and pastries are fresh and cooked in house. The bread used in the sandwiches and accompanying the soup is perfectly crisp on the outside and pillowy inside. Watch the roof of your mouth though! The sandwiches are so good you may end up cutting your mouth with the ciabatta trying to get it down. Its worth it though! Their signature is a London broil sandwich. Highly recommended. Ive tried other sandwiches which have been good as well, but the London broil is just to die for. The soups are creative and delicious as well. Whether its butternut squash or cream of mushroom, theyre worth trying or bringing home to eat later. This owner and staff are very nice and even gave me a bag of tea leaves to take home when I asked what kind of tea is used for their fresh brewed green tea!

Bon Nasty! Avoid at all costs! The owners and people who work here are about the rudest people Ive ever met. If you want your day to be ruined over a sandwich, then go here. I asked to have the chicken salad and a vegetable but I didnt quite want a platter or a salad. If you deviate from the menu in the slightest, get ready to get your head chopped off! I agreed to the separate containers which he said were 3.95 each. They then charged me a dollar more for one. When I spoke up, the owner said I misunderstood him and that he would not sell it to me for the price he told me under no circumstances. I asked him if he would honor the price because he gave me the misinformation. He said we are not Wegmans and that I should leave. The man started screaming at me over his mistake of the mispriced item. I will never go back here again! Spare yourselves a bad taste in your mouth!

Every sandwich that I have ever had here has been incredible! Also, their soups are really tasty as well. I would highly recommend the saffron tomato soup. The only problem I ever had with customer service was after they installed a new POS (Point of Sale) software and accidentally placed a tip on my receipt that I did not intend to leave. They were happy to adjust the check and even offered free food the next time I came in. I declined, but was happy that they fixed their mistake. Tipping 20% at a sandwich shop seems kind of absurd. Now whenever I go in they select "no tip" before they ask for your signature. Because of this, I am more inclined to leave a dollar or so tip whenever I go. I LOVE YOU BON FRESCO <3 meow ^.^

Im a meat eater. Always have been, always will be. But the sandwiches at Bon Fresco demonstrate what you can do with vegetables in a sandwich. I have ordered several of the chicken breast sandwiches and each one would be delicious without the chicken. The grilled vegetables and the spreads that they put on the sandwiches are just wonderful. The bread is done perfectly and the people working there really seem to love what they are doing. I think the owners name is Jerold, and he must have learned how to bake from a master. Hes always there and hes always smiling. Go and give it a try. Its the best sandwiches Ive ever had.

The bread is great and made in-house, the prices reasonable (6-7 bucks per sandwich), and its an independent-- whats to not like? The london broil (served warm) on ciabatta is outstanding. The pork loin was decent but could have used spice/heat rather than the saltiness of olive tapenade. Parking area is smallish. Interior is larger/nicer than I expected for a "sandwich shop". This is a decent spot for a casual meal (thanks HowChow blog for mentioning it!), good enough to add to my rotation. I really enjoy this sort of small, local restaurant...eat local!
