In my opinion, Bistro Poplar is the best restaurant on the Eastern Shore with Bartlett Pear coming in a close second. Bistro consistently achieves superb food, and offers a varied menu that strives to use locally procured produce, fish and meat. I have never had a meal that was less then excellent over the 7 years I have enjoyed opportunities to dine there- at least 15 meals I recollect. What has improved over time is the quality of the wait staff- Chef and manager have clearly placed strong effort in developing the professionalism of their staff- it clearly enhances the meal. Bistro also employs an accomplished pastry chef to round out the meal. Although I dont drink alcohol, Im told the wine selection is high quality. No wonder, Bistro has gained the reputation as a regional destination restaurant, and whenever we have out of town guests, we try to work a meal here on the agenda.

Every time I come, the experience is extraordinary. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with kindness and professionalism. The beer and wine lists are outstanding and the staff is very helpful/knowledgeable when you ask for pairing selections. The food changes seasonally and is not short of extraordinary. If you are on the eastern shore, you need to make a visit to Bistro Poplar a priority!

Charming, wonderful service and the best food--always fresh and seasonal. Dont miss the duck confit, whatever the season (it changes). Anything with brussel sprouts is awesome (yes, brussel sprouts). The butter lettuce salad with blue cheese and vinaigrette is also lovely.

There is no place better for a consistently excellent dining experience on the Shore. The space is quiet and tastefully decorated, the menu is extraordinary, service is 1st class and personable, the meal presentation and preparation is top shelf. Reservations recommended.

Food was decent, nothing amazing. Service was abysmal, if there is a large party at the restaurant at the same time as your reservation you will be ignored. Dont waste your time. There are other places in Cambridge worth your time.

Just took my bestfriend here for her 50th birthday on 5/15 and the food was amazing. Service was wonderful, friendly and helpful with recommendations. Everything tasted amazing! I highly recommend trying this quaint little place.

Decor is traditional rustic French with the menu being predominately French with some local seafood. The French food is very well executed and great service. A nice little gem and a surprise find.

Some locals told us this was their favorite and we tried it and loved it. We definitely plan to return the next time we are in town. Note that they are closed Tuesday and Wed.

This place is VERY good. Its honestly almost as good as Blue River Bistro (Thats saying something) in Breckenridge, CO. If you have a chance. . GO.

Asked us if we were local. We said no. They said they were full but had plenty of room.
