Everyone around here raves about this place. Ive gone once, and it was far from a wonderful experience. The food was overcooked, the rice hard. The food was extremely overpriced for what the atmosphere and quality. The chef was a st. marys native who didnt even attempt to put on a show, or even carry on polite conversation, instead he was rude and boring. I didnt try the sushi here so it may be amazing and most people say you get more food than at the other japanese steak house in the area. My thinking, if the food is bad i dont care how much of it I get. The atmostphere is also dingy, low ceilings, it looks more like a regular home owned restuarant than what I typically think of when I think "Japanese Steak House". My husband and I went there for our anniversary thinking it would be nice and were extremely overdressed for dinner as this restaurant caters to dirty jeans and families with multiple kids apparently. If you want a real japanese steak house experience go to Okada down the road.

Awful! asked to place a togo order and was handed a regular menu. Ordered the "L8" teriyaki steak lunch box, which on the menu says comes with rice, steak, vegetables, California rolls, salad shrimp/vegetable tempura. I only received the steak, rice and streamed vegetables. When I returned to ask where the rest of my food was they simply said "we dont serve lunch boxes to go. So I paid the same price as on the menu ($11) for half of the food? And if the don't serve the "box" togo why wasn't I given a "Togo" menu? WILL NOT GO BACK. Golden Chicken is a dollar cheaper and you get more food.

Im not from Maryland and recently moved to the area. Since moving here a mere 2 weeks ago Ive enjoyed this restaurant twice. Their dragon roll is mouth watering, their ikura pops in your mouth, and the Hamachi melts on your tongue. I dont like the flavor of their ginger dressing but thats a personal preference, someone else might love it. The second time I went here there were some creepy guys shouting at me to "come to their car" which made me very uncomfortable. I asked the staff for assistance and two gentlemen escorted me back to my car. Thank you for helping a young nurse stay safe! I will be back.

Blah. I have to eat here a lot because many friends and coworkers like it, but Im not impressed. The sushi is sub-par, the rice is often under seasoned and the fish varies from bland to outright bad (like I need to spit this out bad). The tempura is cold and soggy 9 times out of 10. Service is decent enough and its always fun to watch the grill guys (even if they always do the same thing) it looks pretty but it overall doesnt make up for the food.

Delicious food, fun experience. However, the night we went, our waitress was not very attentive, we had to wait quite a while to order drinks, then order sushi, then finally order our food. My husband and I split the large shareable volcano drink, and it was mostly ice. Not a lot of alcohol in it at all. (I am a light weight, and I did not feel the drink at all). We will go back again, but only because Sakura in Waldorf is a long drive.

First off, this place has the best sashimi Ive ever tasted. Our server was extremely friendly. We were also lucky to have our meal prepared by the new head chef, who is just flat out amazing at what he does. It was great to watch him perform, and the food was fantastic! We had a great evening thanks to both of them. Definitely check this place out again if you havent been in a while.

Best sushi around, and an extremely friendly and helpful staff. Prices are average or below average at the sushi bar. On the hibachi side, amazing food all around, and the most consistent quality of any restaurant in the area (been a customer for 15 years, and all the food is exactly like it always has been). Go for the philly roll with hot sake, you wont be disappointed.

We went here tonight as a family for my husbands birthday and they were very accommodating for my 11 month old. The food was great and everyone was happy. They also sang a happy birthday beautifully to my husband. This has been my sushi go-to place for a while and will stay that way.

The service sucks here. Everytime we eat here the waitress takes forever and sometimes forgets to bring parts of our orders. The food however is awesome! Love the calamari and sushi! The chefs are always entertaining...they just need better waitresses.

This is one the finest restraunts in southern Maryland. Every time we have family in town or special occasions, we come here. The staff is great. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Chi-e is the best waitress they have.

Great place to take the family for lunch or dinner. Im a huge fan of the fried rice and if you have little ones the chefs will usually put on a little show. Have eaten here countless times and it never gets old. A must try.

My wife and I have always enjoyed coming here and love the food, whether it is the freshly prepared sushi or the grill with the meal prepared in front of you. You will love the place and the friendly staff!

This is my favorite place to eat in Saint Marys County. The chefs are funny and friendly. The service is very attentive. And your never in danger of the bar not having something you want to drink.

One of the best Tepeayaki places around, always great. Dinner prices are par for the course, but lunch is a huge value. Food is tasty and service is great. The yakisoba and sushi are also good.

Customer service was not pleasant. Charged us for something without asking us if we wanted it. Closed the bar, yet still gave a family of the same racial background alcohol... Not impressed...

I love Asahi! Best sushi Ive ever had. The sushi chefs there are the nicest. If you ask them to make you their favorite roll, they may give you something off the menu which is awesome!

- Very good service. Decent sushi. - One of two places I used a CC in the area in a 2-day time period. The following day there was an unauthorized charge attempt with my card online.

Great sushi. My 9 year old daughter wanted sushi and this place was perfect. She loved the Spider Roll and I loved the Volcano Roll. Found while Geocaching in the area.

We love the grill and daughter likes sushi options. One can substitute more veggies in place of fried rice or vice versa. Chefs are entertaining! Great price for lunch.

We go here for lunch sometimes and the food has always been good. I usually get the lunch box or have the stir-fry cooked in front of us when we have enough people.
