Holy moly the food here is good. My friends and I tried basically everything on the menu between the three of us over two nights and we did not dislike a single item! The portions may look small at first, but by the time you finish eating, you are stuffed. I personally loved the pickled vegetables that were on the side of each meal. The spare ribs were sold out the first night, but we got there earlier the second night and luckily snagged an order! The meat fell off the bone, and the flavor was wonderful. I have to say that the fried chicken was also delicious, especially if you ask for it a little spicy. The people that work there are so friendly and remember you if youve been. The only downside to this place is that there is limited seating, so make sure you grab a seat if someone leaves right away!

Went to the tent at Artscape, Im sure the restaurant is a different experience. Staff was friendly and prompt. Service was good. However my chicken meatballs were undercooked. Not only was it pinkish on the inside, but it was chewy and tasted odd. Took it back to the tent and the manger seemed very incredulous about the fact it was undercooked. Was trying to tell me the pink chewy stuff was dark meat. I know how to cook chicken, I know what raw chicken tastes like. Dark meat is purple-ish, this was pink and chewy. I think he thought I was just trying to scam them. I told them to forget giving me the money back, that wasnt the point, and threw it out. Id try the restaurant because Ive heard really good things. But I wont go out of my way to.

We are not worthy Trekked from mount vernon hand in hand with an insistent female friend. Irritated. As far as I was concerned the night had no redemption. I ordered the spicy fried chicken and rice and was blown away. Four large pieces of boneless chicken served on a bed of rice, moderately peppered in spices with a spicy cream sauce decorated about. The chicken was crispy on the outside with extremely tender and juicy meat within- an effect from rendered fat in the meat. No sogginess. This implies pieces chosen for this effect- fatty, flavorful, and mind you- its not overwhelming if you choose to share. I ordered two buns on the side for the social permission to hold this chicken in public and stuff my face It was worth the walk :)

Outstanding. Outstanding. Outstanding. The food is absolutely on point. I am a unabashed lover of all things meat, but the tofu side made me seriously consider that it might be possible to be happy one vegetarian diet. The fried Thai chicken is the best item on the menu. Superbly balanced in the traditional Asian way (sweet, salty, bitter, umami) and the varying texture of the cloud soft buns and deliciously savage crunch of the chicken makes this meal an other worldly experience

Probably our favorite spot in Baltimore for counter service food. We love the neighborhood bird and the tofu. Very generous portions. The flavors are terrific, everything is always cooked perfectly--crispy and delicious. Tried the broccoli tempura on the most recent visit and it was exceptional. It is very small, so takeout is sometimes the best option, or the tables outside.

Ekiben is a nice little Asian rice and bun shop off of Broadway in Fells point. Their food is reasonably priced, delicious, and helps fill a hole of quick Asian inspired food on the east side of town. Prices are reasonable and service is quick for take out or eating in. The restaurant is also run by local entrepreneurs that started at the Fells Point Farmers Market.

A fave! The staff is quick and nice and your food always comes out piping hot! Its my plan to try everything on the menu but I havent been able to get past the Neighborhood Bird and the Tackle Box. Definitely must tries!!! Its kinda small but still enough room to sit and eat...if youre lucky enough to grab a seat. Especially love when they do their mash ups.

The neighborhood bird on bun was phenomenal. The bun was so soft, airy, and sweet and the chicken was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The service was quick and polite on a Friday night. I love the interior, it has a Anime theme and they were playing hip hop that night which is pretty cool. Also its run by UMBC alum which is cool.

Unlike any restaurant of its type. Ive had most things on the menu and each item is delicious and satisfying. The buns are almost better than whats in between and thats saying something. The place is cozy, the atmosphere is welcoming, great service (Nikhil rocks) and the food is out of this world. Highly recommend!!!

Guys who love what they do, and it shows. The Local Bird - on rice or on a soft bun - is overflowing with a fried chicken thigh the size of your head. If you still have room, tempura broccoli is a must. Vegetarians can make a meal out of it, and theres tofu buns/nuggets, so pro- and no-meat mixed parties, rejoice!

Ekiben is a solid place. A beacon of light in the culinary wasteland of Baltimore. Very sizable meals and simple, well made food with a twist. Fried Chicken, meatballs, fried fish, all served with a south east Asian style over rice or with steamed buns. You cant go wrong.

Some of the best food I have had while visiting Baltimore. Get the chicken on a bun and do not forget to grab the tempura broccoli. Dont make the mistake of taking this home, its meant to be eaten at Ekiben otherwise the fried food will not taste as amazing as it should.

No cash, no cards (left them at hotel) - no problem! On my word/honor that I would pay them later, I got the $12 The Original (Thai chicken meatballs on rice, coconut peppercorn sauce), & a $5 side order (tempura broccoli). Both juicy & delicious!

Good food. We love the bird and the tofu. We like to call ahead and pickup because the room to eat in restaurant is small. If u order something cripsy like tempura, ask them to leave lod open so it doesnt get soggy. Hot sauce is really good.

The food is amazing, the place itself is small. I usually dont like to put up with cramped places just to get some decent food, but in this case its worth it. The tempura broccoli is amazing. I could eat an entire meal of just that.

Great place to grab a bite. Huge portions. Extremely friendly staff. The place is pretty small so be ready to stand and eat if you want to eat there. Everyone moves in and out pretty fast so its not bad at all. Worth it for the food.

Simple menu, falvorfull dishes, up beat atmosphere. The fried chicken bun was good but felt a little off mixed in with traditional Asian ingredients. Overall, I would recommend especially given the price point. Music was on point.
