Ive never gotten a bad dish at Thai Taste. Even with several locations, the quality at this original location stays consistent. The menu is extensive and contains standard Thai dishes as well as some more creative ones. I always feel everything is prepared with care. Some of my favorites are the steamed butterflies appetizer, the fresh spring rolls, and all of the soups are great too. If the prices were a bit lower or they had some kind of combos, I would get takeout every week. As it stands my budget allows a visit once a month or so. My only other complaint is the restaurant itself - the large fluorescent lit lobby is tacky and seems like such a waste of space. The actual dining area is nice, so if you face away from the lobby area when your dining, you wont be distracted. My guess is that this area is a common area, owned by the landlord and not technically part of the restaurant. If that is the case, maybe they should build a wall or buy some drapes/blinds.

Dear Entropy, Could you please tell us when did you come here and what else did you order? We are terribly sorry that you are not satisfied with our food. About the Poori bread, there might be some miscommunication because we only mention that we have Naan bread in the menu. For the rice, we guarantee that we use only Basmati rice (we will give a Jasmine white rice or Brown rice only when customers request it) We would love if you respond back because we want to improve our Indian food. Thai Taste and India Taste are so perfect together. Both have such wonderful people working to make you evening special. Rather you take out or eat in they are always so welcoming, My husband and I go at least once a week, It is really fun to have Indian appetizers and a Thai dinner or the other way around. We have never had a bad experience from either Thai or Indian.

Im only rating this a 4 because the food was so good. The atmosphere isnt my cup of tea and the service isnt that great. But the food..... amazing. I like go to go Poms Thai food on Congress in Portland ... same owner, so same food. But, better atmosphere and better service! Drunken noodle.... Best ever. And, the veggie steamed dumplings are another favorite.

From the moment you step in the service is outstanding. They have a big menu. It does not matter what you order, the food is fresh and delicious. After the first time i went, i could not wait to go again. Thai Taste has a lot of repeat customer. I would get takeout every week if possible.

The Thai food is good, but the Indian take-out they recently added is AWFULL. They gave me American white rice with a clove in it (instead of Basmati). The Shrimp Masala was heavy with grease to the point that we felt ill after eating it. We ordered poori but was given nan.

This is my first review about a restaurant and unfortunately its not a positive one. The customer service was terrible. I was barely acknowledged by the staff. The food was delicious. At least they have that going for them. I most likely wont go back there.

Called in pad thai for pick up. Overpriced at $14, at least a few dollars more than the competition. The food was bland with an occasional zing of lime. The chicken was hard and dry. Not the worst pad thai Ive ever had, but certainly not good.

Delicious yellow curry and drunken noodles. Atmosphere was calm and lovely. My son (1) loved watching the fish while we waited for our food. He also was able to get veggies instead of a bunch of fried Everything like everywhere else.

Great food, great service, impressive presentation. A very nice atmosphere. Their menus are also exceptionally informative. We would return in a heartbeat next time we are in the vicinity of Portland/Cape Elizabeth.

I love the new India Taste in South Portland! I had the India Taste Curry and it was fantastic. Finally a place to get great Indian food without the hassle of driving in town Portland. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

The owner does not listen. We had asked for brown rice. We got white rice instead. We had told the owner "no peanuts". We got peanuts. The owner didnt even care when we told him.
