My family and I are too often come to this Korean restaurant. It is because the location is too easy to find and the foods are very delicious. However, they have changed a lot. First of all, it is about the food. From the beginning I came to this restaurant. The food was tasty, the portion was perfect for family, and the quality of the food was excellent. But I did not like their food these days because they have changed the style of the foods. The combos package has changed and it was too little. Usually, they have a perfect type of meats on each package; however, they limited the type of the package and they added the shrimp(?) really? Seriously? Also, they didnt served the eggs or the soup on the package anymore? What was wrong with the restaurant? The side dishes were different too. Could I say it seemed like an American Korean restaurant? They had changed their image as an American now. Spinach, salads, and sausages were on their side dishes? Second of all, the workers who are working in that restaurant. There were one girl that served us during late lunch and dinner time. This lady was such an ignorant. The restaurant was empty and I knew she was so tired. However, she have lied to us and she didnt came right away when we rang the bell. We ordered meats looks like roll meats on the pictures menu. However, she brought us a different type of meats. We asked her that she must have been wrong for the order; however, she denied it and she said we dont have something like that. We showed to her the picture. The meats have supposed to be rolled shape, but she kept saying that they didnt have it. Then, we said that okay. An hour later, a new costumer came beside us. They ordered the combo package. Suddenly, we saw the meat that we are looking for, the curly or the rolls one. I know it sounds like it doesnt matter to all, but it matters to us because we wanted the workers to be the professional one. We have been coming to gangnam restaurant a lot, and we knew all the menus. Also, they had a picture on the menu right?! If she wanted lie to us, at least in a smart way. If she was tired, just dont served the costumer. Just go home or resigned from the job. Every time I went to the restaurant and she served us, she was always cold and ignorant. She made us lost an appetizer, and she made us pissed off. We knew the boy who owned the restaurant and he knew us a lot, but because of her it ruined the image of the restaurant. She always wears a pony tails up. Overall, we enjoyed to have a meal in Gangnam. Also, please trained more with the new worker who has a glasses on. He was too slowly and please modern the quality of the restaurant.

My wife is Filipino and Im American. We watch alot of Korean movies and drama. The more we watch, the more we are curious about Korean culture and cuisine. We wanted to try a real Korean BBQ with table top grills for our wedding anniversary. After researching online, we decided to try Gangnam Korean BBQ. It was amazing. I will post some pictures later. If I recall correctly, they also have a full menu of Korean food, but we were there for the do-it-yourself bbq experience. Our waitress took our order; you can choose from a variety of different meats youd like to grill. She returned with trays of fresh meat and vegetables to grill, along with sauces. The spicy pork is amazing. They also bring you a variety of side dishes. Im no expert, but it seems that having many side dishes is paramount in Korean culture. Our favorite was the pickled radish. Sliced thin, naturally pink, with a mild flavor. It looked something like beets but was actually radish (not the radish you think of that are common in American groceries). Dont be afraid to order pork belly. Pork belly is common in Filipino cuisine as well, so Im used to seeing it on menus and on the plate. Americans eat pork belly all the time - but its cured and called "bacon". Just like bacon, you can vary the "fattiness" by how long you cook it. Unlike bacon, its not salty or smoke flavored, so you may want to dip it in a sauce. Bottom line; youve got to try this place. If youre Korean, you probably know better than I do how good this place is. If youre not Korean: the next time you cant decide where you want to eat out - try this place. Its not just the food, but a quiet atmosphere with very friendly employees. Since our visit to Gangnam House, we visited another Korean bbq house in the greater Portland area which had a different atmosphere altogether. Loud music and dark lights. While not bad, we prefer the quieter atmosphere of Gangnam.

This BBQ Korean restaurant is too expensive for my taste for what they offer. They have a K-pop playlist on YouTube on runs constantly throughout the background. The waiting time for this place can be very long even when theres multiple tables open and clean. People in this place can be very loud and staff members dont do much to quiet them down. Staff members are very slow when it comes to taking your order and billing. Also, there are some things on the menu that are not available because they dont have ingredients (seriously?). All in all, my first time coming to this place was not well and I probably wont ever come back here in the future or recommend anyone else.

Though the restaurant looked promising, we didnt have a great experience there. First, the climate control had issues. Either it was too cold or too hot - they couldnt maintain a comfortable temperature. We asked our waitress if she could do something about it, but apparently the system is either on or off. When its off, its just cold. Not being comfortable does not make for a happy dining experience. Second, we had some service issues with some items in our order not showing up. Overall, this place has potential but they have some work to do before Id recommend it.

This is the best Korean BBQ in Portland. Costs a bit More than other places, but the service more than makes up for it. This is by far of the friendliest places I have ever been to in Portland. The servers remember us every time we go, and remember what we like to eat and drink. They are attentive and fun. Korean BBQ is not for everyone. If you love Korean food as much as I do this is the place for you!

Very expensive for what they supplied on the table. Bad service. We have to asked for replenishment and took them long. If I want Korean bbq. Ill go to TV highway and 117th Ave. in Beaverton because they provide better service otherwise Ill wait till I travel to Tacoma or Federal way Washington which none of this Korean restaurant on this area can beat their prices and services.

First time Ive had korean BBQ, and I have to day Im very happy with it! The servers were very helpful and kind, and the food was amazing just to make it even better! I would definetly recommend it to anyone! Even those just driving through. And price wise, it wasnt that bad. Based on reviews I was expecting worse, but for three of us it was $60. Definetly go give it try! ^^
